Free Dining Fall 2015? (and a whole lot more)

I want to try to call in, but if it's for Visa, there's no point for me. I'll probably drop in and check though. And sit here all tomorrow mulling over rumors.

I'm going 10/31 to 11/9. Right now, it's at ASSp(booked before I even heard of free dining) but if the deal comes out, we may switch to Pop!

Almost our exact dates except we're leaving on the 8th and we are at ASSp. We will probably stay there as long as they are included because it's been 5 years since we were there. We wanted CBR but when I booked last week only pirate rooms were available for that week (all rooms were available up to 11/6 but it's the last few days that messed us up).

Really keeping fingers crossed it starts on 10/31. I know last year that Saturday was included but I have been concerned with it being Halloween this year. Hoping these dates hold true...

I have never stayed in movies, our first and only stay on property was last year at POP. We loved it, absolutely, but I've always been attracted to the movies resort because of all of the Disney characters around. Now I'm going back and forth on it. One thing about POP is that we really like AoA's food court and we could walk over any time we wanted.

I'd be interested in any opinions on POP vs Movies too.
AoA's food court is a huge plus when staying at the POP. Also AoA's busing system. At the end of a long day at the parks, or if its crazy mad at the DD stop, its great to hop on the AoA bus if it arrives before yours or if the line is shorter.

If Movies is excluded, I'm glad we switched hotels then. We were originally booked for AS Movies (loved it in 2013), but decided to make thr switch to AS Sports since movies seems to be excluded from discounts lately. I'm now trying to come up with a plan B and C in case I can't get FD at AS sports.

If we move up to a moderate, we can still get the QSDP free, right? I know the TSDP is a better deal, but we still might go with QS (we like the freedom it brings rather than planning around dinner reservations).
Moderates get table service plan, not the QSDP, there isn't a choice. Unless it has changed and I missed the change.

Hoping to book oct 30-nov 11 at pop. First time going at this time of the year and very excited. If by chance we have to cancel oct 30 and arrive on the 31 in the future will we have to rebook the whole trip or will they be able to take a day off our reservation? We won't know for another month if we will be able to arrive on the 30th or not. Thanks!

How likely will it be for there to be a room only discount during this time? Would it include the same dates? I really want to go with my original dates (Dec 13-18) and would appreciate any discount.

LouFapp...At some point when we have a little more info, would you mind updating your original post? It's about to get real crazy on this thread and it would be nice to update the original post so that people can be directed to look there for the most up to date info!

Last year ASSp was the only value resort I consistently saw available online for the free dining deal.

:scratchinI probably should not be telling you this because I don't want to start anything in your household but....I am a stay at home mom and they gave me one. Should I start running from your hubby now?:rotfl:
REALLY?! Oh, my. I think I'll apply, then! Maybe I should make sure he won't have a cussin' fit first. Or maybe I'll just do it and deal with the cussin' fit later. :rolleyes1

Yes! We did that too. We took the AoA bus a few times if there were crowds or it came first.

I'm the same way. I'm hoping since before Halloween has been included that it will, but the Saturday throws it off. ASSp is my second pick if we don't get Pop; I want to try out new resorts, but if I have to pick from the All Stars, Sports is top, probably because of buses. And yeah I've heard the Pop buses stories but I really want to try that one out if I can!

So by reading that hotel info....
CBR should be included for all the dates and POR just the august-oct2nd dates... Correct?
So... What should be my 1st pick? CBR or POR????
Dh and I are split... He wants CBR and I POR

Hubby & I are booked at Caribbean Beach for 12 nights in September but would love to "go home" to Port Orleans Riverside if free dining is offered from the 12th to the 24th.

I have been told both a re good resorts to go to. We originally booked at CBR, but then at my DD's dance class the one mom came back and said there were snakes all over the place (take that for what it is worth), which freaked me out beyond belief. I checked the next day and PORGV was open so I booked that. We only went with CBR in the first place because of availability and the DW and DDs wanted the beach.

Yes you're reading it correctly (although it is still a rumor). Based on what I've read POR is the most popular but didn't CBR go through some renovations or something?

POP is my first choice but if unavailable, I will likely go with AS Sports also because of the busing. The POP buses are usually very good if you can get to the stop before 8 am (eg 7:50-7:55am) and you will usually be good for a seat. The MK buses are always craziest but they normally send 3x the number of MK buses than all other parks in the early a.m. What to watch for is the rain-out late afternoons & evenings. Disney isn't always as flexible with getting extra buses on the roads for heavy rain exodus from the parks and those lines can be killers for the value resorts.

I like that you can take a boat to Downtown Disney from POR, but I like the rooms and pool better at CBR.

I'll remember that! I was at ASMovies last year, and we got stuck in a lot of rain. And the buses were always full, after going to two resorts first. So I learned my lesson not to stay there, because even at a lower crowd time it was still pretty bad.
