Free Dining Fall 2015? (and a whole lot more)

Was POR or POFQ included in last year's summer discounts? I was hoping POR might be included in Free Dining this year but it doesn't look promising since it doesn't look like it was included in the summer discounts. It's interesting to me that POFQ does have the summer discount rates. I wonder what the chances are for either POR or POFQ to be included for Free Dining this year. We are most likely looking at booking value but considering a mod for the upgrade in dining. We are not interested in CBR though as my parents have stayed there previously and did not like it.

We had alway stayed at POR in September during FD until last year. POFQ and POR were both excluded from for the Sept-Dec FD times. I would expect the same this year. However, I think there was a HUGE shift from POR to CBR and CSR when those that had pre-booked expecting FD realized that POR and POFQ were not included. I still doubt they will be included. PINs, however, have included them if you are lucky enough to receive.

Depending on how many people are in your room, it might be less $ to book a value and then just upgrade from quick service to regular DP. I think last year the dining upgrade was less than $20/pp a day for an adult and less for a child.

I would love to get one of those pins!!! I don't think I'm on that list though.:sad2:

POR is actually included with the summer room discount that just came out.

Oh, thanks for the clarification. I missed it somehow. I will need to take a closer look next time!:magnify:

We have 10 of us going and are playing with the numbers. There are so many options that it's hard to know what will work best. We were just going to book value and go with the QSDP and everyone was happy to do so but now my mom has been diagnosed as needing a medical low sodium diet. I think TS will be able to accommodate her dietary needs better than QS. There's not a lot of information out there about low sodium dining at WDW. Will definitely need free dining to help with costs especially if we need to add TS meals. Come on free dining!!!:yay:

What did they not like about CBR?

If I'm booked at a value and have my ADRs all set and I switch to a moderate (provided it's cost effective), I don't lose my ADRs, do I? :hyper2:

Quick question here, I know you can upgrade the QS dining plan to a regular if you're in a value. Can you upgrade the regular DP to deluxe at a moderate resort?

I have what might be a dumb question. What is the benefit of getting a PIN #? Is it just that you can add the discount without having to call and wait on hold?

PIN#'s are sent out before general offers and usually have less restrictions.

They said that they didn't have a good experience and didn't think it was worth the extra money. They didn't like the rooms or the theming and were far away from the food court and main pool. This was several years ago though. They might have a different experience now with the refurbished rooms and if we could book preferred. They don't seem to want to try it again though. I'm not sure that they will like any of the mods since the mods seem to be much more spread out than the values.

We stayed at CBR in 2005 and I didn't care for it. Pool was nothing to write home about either. But that was before they remodeled. I'm sure it's TONS better now, but since then I've fallen in love with POR. Not sure I could go do CBR after POR.

You can, but where its only about $20/person per day to upgrade QS to the regular plan, its about $50-60/person per day to go from regular to deluxe

I hear such great things about POR that it really does make me want to try it at some point! I also would love to stay at AofA family suites or try out POP. CSR looks very nice too. We may end up at ASMu which would be fine. We have always enjoyed our stays there but I also think it would be fun to try something new. Those our are Top 5 choices right now. I guess we have to pick one soon (and a backup just in case we can't get the free dining offer at our first pick).

I plan to stay at every resort at least once in my life. We did Animal Kingdom Lodge our first time with my son and I would love to do it again. Our second time wad POR, which I stayed at when I was younger and it was called Dixie Landings. This year might be POR again because it is a GREAT resort, but if FD is not available there we will probably do CBR or CSR

I want to stay at each resort at least once as well. On my bucket list!
