Free Dining Fall 2015? (and a whole lot more)

First, nothing is off topic on this board, it just falls under "and a whole lot more". My budget usually has a limo service instead of airport parking because its not that much more for us and we love not having to drive and getting dropped off and picked up roght out front. This year though we found an offer to park our car at the hotel located in the airport and stay the night before for a little more. Also, our budget includes special events. We are doing MNSSHP, MVMCP, Pirates & Pals fireworks cruise, Wishes fireworks dessert party, carriage ride (if we can get POR), and Photopass Memory Maker package. We dont have luggage costs because we fly Southwest. Always ends up being the cheapest airline for us and we never reach the free bag limit.
Thanks! I forgot about the Halloween party. We actually do stay, park and fly often, but this trip we are flying out in the evening, so no need. A limo to the airport sounds great to me, but being almost 2 hours away, pretty sure it would cost way too much. My DH feels the need to preselect his seat, so we can't fly Southwest. I understood it a little when the kids were young, but they are grown up now, so makes no sense. Guess old habits never die. ;)
Do pin code emails have the number in the email or do you have to call and ask for the number. I got an email from disney destinations titled " check out this magical disney rate, Koffler family." And it has some rates for dates in december we were looking at. But I don't see a number or code. Also the prices quoted in the email seem to be more than what is quoted when I look the dates up online. Am i missing something? It is just confusing me. It has a trivia game with it too, so maybe its not a specific offer?
Not positive but sounds like an advertisement for full price rooms rather than a pin. I get those often.

There would be a code in the email.

They're the same offers. Visa people will post when things are full, etc so you'll have a better idea of what to expect.

I'm guessing then that POR could be full before it gets to the general public offer (if they are included at all). Thanks for all the info that everyone has been sharing! It's so nice to know what to expect! :flower3:

The visa and public offers have different codes in the system. I believe they have different availability with each code.

We (sadly) aren't doing Disney this year, but when I was planning our 2014 trip the FD thread was a lifesaver! I am curious to hear about this year though as we are planning a fall 2016 trip - hope to have a Disney Visa by then. I was just explaning the whole free dining thing to my stepfather this evening and it got me all excited again. These last few weeks until hopefully an announcement is made are killer.

Have fun wringing your hands and impatiently waiting! I read over at another blog about how the "free dining hoarders" have snatched up a lot of the availability. Fight the urge to book now and wait!!

I just switched to the Disney Visa Debit. Do you think I will get the offer? I just wondered how long you have to have the visa before the special offers are available.

Thanks!
I've had a disney Visa Card for over 5 years and if I remember correctly, I didn't get the email about these past summer promotions until a day or 2 after I saw it online. So I'd continue checking online and not rely on just receiving the email.

I just did a quick google on your DDP Horders, and found a blog by Dr Disney. I really hope those people dont ruin it for everyone by Disney thinking all their resorts are full and not needing to release free dining.

After reading the doctor disney website, I went to disney's website to check what the availability looked like for our dates (dec 12-18). We haven't booked yet because I am trying to wait for free dining to be released. It looks like Coronado Springs is already sold out for the dates we're interested in. It sure makes it hard to wait when I see that they are selling out.

Off to google, I know waiting is hard as I'm doing it now along with many of you but I mean, sigh....(channeling Thumper, if you can't say something nice...)

we have our room booked, but not in anticipation of free dining - if we can get it, great. If not, we will remove the tickets from our reservation and purchase them through the military and just use the military discount. We wanted the dates we have whether or not we get a free dining discount.

I'm having the same problem. I was going to book a little mermaid room at AOA, since they're never included in free dining. Ive checked every day for a week. Nothing.

I think the problem is the people who book a trip to get free dining and then cancel if it does not get released. That's why we're all frustrated. There is a large group of people out there who book a package in anticipation of free dining, knowing that they won't go if it isn't offered, and the mess the whole system up for the rest of us who were going regardless. It makes no sense since booking now doesn't guarantee you free dining anyway. If you are going regardless, no big deal. If you aren't then cool your jets like everyone else who's waiting. (That's a general statement by the way, not directed at you verlenia). Just venting some frustration.

Honeybee83 - I didn't take it towards me - no worries! Do I HOPE that I can get a deal on the dining plan?? Of Course! Im with ya'll on the side of - don't book unless you ARE gong no matter what! If not - hold your horses

A quick question about the Visa offer...I have a Disney Visa but we are traveling with another couple. I was planning on booking both of our rooms and reservations if free dining comes out all at once. If I have the Disney Visa but the other couple does not, can I still use it to book both rooms and reservations?

I did this because we're traveling with another family and they do not have a Disney visa. We're booked the rooms together but I put the deposits on my visa. If free dining comes out, I will have to be the one to get it added to both reservations. Just make sure you have the other families full info, address, the phone number they gave for there reservation plus there reservation number

I booked mine anyway as I have posted because I am going regardless. I WILL change my room type if a better one is offered for Fall or FD discounts. If none are offered I will keep it at Rack. So I guess I'm going to just have to be an irritant to some of you.

So I am looking at different resorts and different prices for the end of September. Was POR included last year? I know POFQ is never included. I wouldn't mind staying at POR but would book a preferred room.

POFQ and POR was excluded in 2014, however there were FD pins that included POR
