Free Dining Fall 2015? (and a whole lot more)

Has Pop century always been included in FD promos. I know all star movies is one value that changes here and there with being included but from what I some-what remember pop has always been included atleast dating back to 2009? Just making sure that info is right?

We have never stayed at pop, im thinking it might be a nice change instead of an all stars (which weve stayed at all of those)
Pop century has never been excluded from fd since it started in 2005. Pop century is the second largest resort on property and it takes longer to fill rooms during value season.

Since we're all hoping for free dining, here's a pop quiz. What is your favorite and must have snack/meal/dining experience for each of the four main parks.

We have only done QS so mine would be:
MK: Frontierland Mickey pretzel
Epcot: Cheese empanadas with verde sauce and churro dessert in Mexico
HS: (didn't eat there)
AK: Ribs from Flame Tree BBQ
DTD: Pizza at Wolfgang Puck Express
MK - BOG lunch
HS - ?
E - caramel corn
AK - Tusker House breakfast

I know normally you have to buy a 2 day ticket with your room stay. But I just read on another forum -

"Just to let you know that today I was able to get a ticketless package. I booked a room-only discount for CSR (July 2015) and asked to add the regular dining plan without purchasing any ticket since I already had them from air miles (point program in Canada and from UT). That means that if you find cheap tickets elsewhere than WDW you can still have the dining plan. The only thing is that you need to call to get a ticketless package (it's not available online)."

Has anyone here been able to do this? I have my dates set for September/October with purchased tickets (linked in MDE) from Undercover Tourist (8 day hopper). It would be great to be able to add free dining if this is true! :teeth:

As far as dining goes, we always do The Wave breakfast buffet at the contemporary resort at least two times during our trip ( totally done with character breakfasts) Via Napoli in epcot, Raglan road in dtd and we will use a snack credit at Gastons tavern for there huge cinnamon rolls

Anyone can book a ticketless paid dining package, but free dining requires a two day ticket.

Free dining has its own rules, ticketless packages will not apply to the free dining promo. Disney will not give you the dining plan for free so you can go and purchase you tickets elsewhere

I agree with everyone saying not to be too worried. We have used free dining a few of the past years and every time it was "the year free dining is expected to not happen" but yet it does. Like others have said, choices of dates and resorts are lessened but many ppl still book with FD and that's a good amount of bookings Disney will lose if they take it away. I think Disney free dining will be around for awhile still, just not like it use to be, less choices as time goes.

So if free dining doesn't get offered, would you guys stay off property or not go? Just curious what everyone else thinks. For me, we are a family of 7 and even staying in a value, the vacation still costs us $8500+....... and we drive!
If there's no free dining for our stay we will look at what David's DVC rental has left or look somewhere offsite that has free shuttle.

We only have my husband, myself, and my 3 year old daughter. We would probably still stay onsite just because we get a discount on airfare through his work (he's an airline pilot). We would have no vehicle there. If there were zero promos offered I still think we would go but it would be iffy. I highly doubt there would be no promos for the fall though because the summer room only discount was higher than I expected it to be. There will be SOMETHING offered for the fall. Maybe a RO or a play stay and dine or both, if free dining isn't offered. They normally have two fall promos out at the same time to give guests a choice of what works better for them.

I have a FD question. We have a kid who will be almost 3 when we go. He turns 3 in late November and we're going in Sept. He is by far my biggest kid and is a huge eater. I know he can eat off our plates, but he probably needs his own meal, especially at CS places. It's probably not economical to upgrade him to 3 and buy him a ticket so he can get the plan, is it? Would he have to have 10 day tickets also?

I thought being able to book 180 days out was a resort guest perk. I know the extra 10 days booking is, which is how we got Be Our Guest dinner on our upcoming trip. AP is a different class of guest.

It would be way cheaper to just pay out of pocket for his food because kids under three get free park admission.

I think anyone can book 180 days in advance for ADRs and the extra ten days is the perk for onsite guests.

I liked pop better than the all stars. I think they've always been included in FD.

We already have a good amount of money down on a package. We would either cancel or move the deposit to a date next year and go to the beach. But...I also think there are people every year saying there will be no free dining and they have been wrong so far.

I have to crunch numbers. We have enjoyed so many late Septembers with the free dining promo and plan on going this year from 9/24-9/29. My initial idea is stay at AS Sports and do the quick service plan. I will crunch numbers and see what the price is to stay at CSR instead. You can upgrade to the table service for something like $18.20 a day. The table service plan is so much food though and maybe we are better off with just the quick service.

Also consider though if you wait to book you could end up inside your 180 days and miss out on dining opportunities. We are going in November no matter what discounts come out. I'm booking in the next week or two so that I can take advantage of my 180+10 when it comes up. To me, it's not worth it to wait and book to help the chances of free dining if I miss out on the ADR's that I want. What good is free dining without the right dining?

I did a test run and was able to get good reservations at all of the venues I tried (including BOG), only 4 months out which would be in the middle of the busy summer season.

From what I'm seeing, it looks like there is nothing to eat in Hollywood studios but cupcakes! Lol.
