Free Dining Fall 2015? (and a whole lot more)

FYI I went online to modify my reservation today. I was able to change resorts a few weeks ago and that option was still there but you cannot modify dates online, you have to call.

Hoping now that my dates fall within the rumored dates that I can just add free dining to my stay when it goes live.

I was able to modify everything online an hour ago
Dates, resort, tickets, dining etc
It even had a link for special offers to my new package
I didnt make changes yet as I want official word and resorts before I do
I may even wait for GP offer so I dont have to call it in and I can do it all online

Funny, I was considering doing park hoppers anyway, as we went last year for 9 days during free dining and this is an unexpected trip for us this year. We are going for a shorter period of time and wanted the ability to move around throughout the day to hit the highpoints as many times as we want. That being said, I have gone to mde several times to try to modify my reservation (add a few days of tickets and add the park hopper option) and the only option it gives me is to 'cancel reservation' - which I absolutely don't want to do. I guess when I call for free dining I will add all the extras then.

For who it matters to, we were booked at POR last year when free dining was offered and it was excluded. I waited almost 3 hours on the phone on the opening GP day,but I downgraded to Pop (which we loved!), added a night, added an extra day of tickets, got free dining, and added MNSSHP tickets and SAVED over $300 off my initial reservation. Last year it was possible for us to save money -- and we did. Hoping pixie dust for everyone this year to save some $ at the happiest place on earth

Yup same here. It will end up costing us almost $1000 more for FD. I hope Disney doesn't think we are that stupid. I'm hoping this is very wrong.

Yes I meant Disney Visa offers, someone said earlier to use DV for Disney Visa and DVC for Disney Vacation Club acronyms

I think the room only offer, if the same as last year, could be a better deal for many folks. Hopefully they will offer both on the same day and you can all do the math and make a decision right away.

Has anyone been the week of Halloween? Is it super busy? I was hoping end of Oct would take the edge off the heat but still be hot enough to swim. Plus it's my birthday! I am going to take my kid out of school to go during free dining. Parent of the year right here

I have been twice during the week around Halloween. I thought the crowds were low both times, and the weather was warm enough to swim during the day and then a little bit cooler at night. Great time to go! Enjoy!

If you are not already doing Hopper passes then yes that is a lot of money for 2 nights of dining.

In the past DH and I have done one park in the morning and then another at night. Especially on our shorter trips since I like to take a break at the pool in the afternoon and AK isn't open at night. So we go do what we like at AK then take a break at the resort to cool off and go back out in time for dinner and either Epcot or MK.
But if that isn't in your plans, then adding it just to get free dining..........Waiting to check out the RO rates might be more beneficial.

Weird that the website is not letting me book anything. Keeps telling me my cart is empty. Yet this morning I had an email from Disney Destinations telling me I left something in my cart. I have a feeling even if I wait until RO is on the site to do an online booking, I might have to call anyway.
Oh bother!

I'm pretty confident my dates will be ok and I'm a wreck the flights will go up, but as I told DH, I have to risk it because I don't know what the blow up of Free dining will do and I don't want to book a flight and not have a room to sleep in. Especially since part of our vacation I will be solo a day or two. Ya not wanting to be switching resorts.

We are staying in a Value Resort so I think that's only 20% off but I tried a mock up using the summer offer and the total cost comes out to about the same as my fall dates. I'm assuming that's because summer is more expensive in general, but can I just take a straight 20% off the full price to see how much it would be?

I just hope that we will be able to modify the reservation online!! I have to be at work at 8 and won't be able to sit on hold for hours! Plus I work in a call center and the last thing I want to do is sit on hold forever haha

Hmm, I'm liking this. It means I could go over Thanksgiving instead, but I'm not sure I quite believe that. Now where did these possible dates come from?

These dates seem suspicious to me as there is a hole between the last date in summer and first date here. That doesn't seem right to me for some reason.
