Yep, I have the same plan. It's going to save us over $1000 in food so it makes the vacation much more affordable.
Only about $600 here, but then again its just the girlfriend and I.

At CBR there is a stop at every village. There are never a ton of people waiting, so no one to jump in front of you. My DH has a bad back and the standing anymore than he has to is not kind to his back. But you are right, different strokes. We prefer one stop because it's orderly and we know we will fit onto the bus. We went to a Poly stop to head to DTD and even though we were the first people to arrive at the stop, everyone jumped up and got on the bus before us. Annoying! Lol! As for standing in the sun or rain, we do that in the parks and live. Another 10 minutes is not that big of a deal. Lol! Different strokes for different folks.![]()
You don't have to do anything but be approved. I applied only because it gives access to the dining deal earlier. I won't have time to spend anything on it between when it arrives and when the deal comes out. As long as you are a cardholder you get that early access.Question. What do you have to do to get the deals with a disney visa? I do not have one but would not be opposed to getting one but wouldn't be able to spend anything on it to meet any criteria by Monday. Advice?
They were still doing this on the boats in December. My son got one.Did you know the kids can ask the drivers of the buses and boats for transportation cards? Actually, I don't know if they still do this but last time I was there with a kid she asked and they still had the cards (this was about 4 years ago though). They're like baseball cards with pictures of the different buses and boats. I don't think it's wildly popular because several of the drivers said they were out - but if your daughter loves the buses it's worth asking!
I was instantly approved and received mine I about 5 days. It was quick.I applied 2 days ago and got instant approval so I'm hoping my card shows up within the next few days. Some people reported getting it in 3 days and 5 days- fingers crossed!
Do I have to book the vacation on the Disney Visa? I have a cash back card that I normally use for those types of purchases. It was offered a few weeks earlier to Canadians last year, but it wasn't offered earlier in 2013. It's hard to know what's going to happen this year.Last year, I had to cancel my Aug 31-Sept 6 vacation. The CM tried to arrange alternate days for us, but it wasn't possible to go due to work. Oddly enough, they offered us free dining August 16, which if I'm correct is two weeks before the general public dates last year. When I asked her how she is able to offer that, she said it is a promo they offer for Canadian guests only.
Has anyone heard of this before? Historically, has Disney always released promo extensions to international travellers?
I ask because we are scheduled to arrive Aug 23 this year, hoping for free dining!
We like the bus system at CBR as well. We have stayed there four times and never had a problem with people trying to get on before others who have been waiting longer. Everyone has always been very kind and respectful. I think the multiple stops really help with that.At CBR there is a stop at every village. There are never a ton of people waiting, so no one to jump in front of you. My DH has a bad back and the standing anymore than he has to is not kind to his back. But you are right, different strokes. Also forgot to add....we have never had a bus that we did not fit on. Even 2 weeks of Christmas last year when the parks were crazy and CBR was at full capacity.
I was finding most resorts had no standard left for my dates.I really doubt POR will be in the FD, all the standard room are gone for ma dates
I love that! "To just be away from home here and be home there"! Yay for Disney world!I was finding most resorts had no standard left for my dates.
I talked to DH and he agreed that if we can get POR we will take whatever level they have open.
I'm still not 100% sold that I want to try a new resort like CBR over taking RO but reading all the positives about it here makes me want to give it a shot. We did CSR for FD in 2013 and we didn't spend a lot of time at the resort other than at night and then I made the mistake of walking near the main building and felt the Business conference people took away from my vacation feel. But that's just me, others were ok with it and love that resort and the Business/club level stuff.
I even looked at deluxe and again the standard options were gone for Boardwalk/Beach club area.
Honestly I just can't wait to be booked so I can stop obsessing about when and where I'm going. The crowd levels the week I want is good but the weekends are busy, but mostly at Epcot because of food and wine.
With no kids we can be flexible so that's a good thing. I'm sure no matter where we go I'll be happy to just be away from home here and be home there.
