Free Dining Fall 2015? (and a whole lot more)

So I have been checking prices and running numbers for a month or so on the Disney websites for CBR. POR and ASM. Today is the first day that I am seeing prices change for my dates. Then when I clicked through, there are lots of the options UNAVAILABLE for my dates. So either Disney has blocked off rooms to offer people a discounted way to stay....:rotfl2:Or people have started booking up their resorts to get the FD promotion added if it indeed comes out. YIKES! I hope if the latter is the case that there will be some options for moderate resorts...I am not really wanting to bump up to the deluxe prices-but booking a value and upgrading the DP was a huge cost for our family and it ended up being $1000 more than a moderate last year. Thank goodness for the UOC last year! Staying hopeful!!! :cheer2:

My husband read on here that tomorrow might be the day for Disney Visa holders...where's that coming from? Everything I've read is saying Monday?
Most think free dining will be Monday for Disney visa holders, but a few think it could be tomorrow. Most likely tomorrow is when it will be released for UK residents. We're calling tomorrow anyway just to be safe ::MinnieMo

It was showing this for me as well, but when I hit the refresh button it displayed prices for most room categories. Maybe try that and see if it works for you :)

I really doubt POR will be in the FD, all the standard room are gone for ma dates

For both our sakes, I hope you're wrong and POR is included this year :shamrock: Maybe the rooms are just blocked out in anticipation of the special?? We can hope!

I was finding most resorts had no standard left for my dates.
I talked to DH and he agreed that if we can get POR we will take whatever level they have open.
I'm still not 100% sold that I want to try a new resort like CBR over taking RO but reading all the positives about it here makes me want to give it a shot. We did CSR for FD in 2013 and we didn't spend a lot of time at the resort other than at night and then I made the mistake of walking near the main building and felt the Business conference people took away from my vacation feel. But that's just me, others were ok with it and love that resort and the Business/club level stuff.

I even looked at deluxe and again the standard options were gone for Boardwalk/Beach club area.

Honestly I just can't wait to be booked so I can stop obsessing about when and where I'm going. The crowd levels the week I want is good but the weekends are busy, but mostly at Epcot because of food and wine.
With no kids we can be flexible so that's a good thing. I'm sure no matter where we go I'll be happy to just be away from home here and be home there.

Isn't it funny how attached we get to resorts once we have stayed there and had a good experience? I haven't been to WDW nearly as many times as you have, but because we stayed at CBR last time and loved it, I had to force myself to branch out and try something new, and so we're booked for POR in October. Of course, when free dining does come out, I will probably wish we were staying at CBR!

Hmmm maybe Disney is blocking them out so that people don't try to prebook.
I'm just refusing to stress. I have to trust FATE here. I wasn't originally going to be able to do a 2015 trip so hoping it all works out.
Ok so now tell my sleeping hormones to get me a full night of sleep and not wake up thinking about flights and which park when. geesh.

I am wondering if my husband will be able to call Disney if & when FD becomes available. My name is the primary name on the reservation, but his name is listed as a guest. I have to work & worry that I will not have time to call. Mine is the name on the Disney Visa card. TIA.

Or you might be having to switch over there.
In 2013 when we were at POFQ by the time I called and got through on the release day, all that was open was CSR. Well we were specifically looking for a king room. As I said now I don't care what kind of room. I rather not pay a lot of a room that I only sleep in, and all the resorts have something nice to enjoy.......Was just talking to DH about parks vs spending time at resorts we haven't been to yet. I would love to tour resorts to see where we really want to stay on future trips vs just look at website pictures. The feel is much different!
just sayin'

Hey, guys, remind me--with the DV offer, can I book a room for someone with their name as the lead, give all their info and kids info, and still pay with MY DV for the $200 deposit even though neither myself or my wife would be booked in that room? I know in the past that I have booked three rooms with me in one of the rooms, but never tried booking something for someone else without me booking for me at the same time (we have a bounce back offer and are already booked).

I would like to know this also..I am already booked with a free dining bounce back also and would like to book a room for my sisters family with my Disney visa... Anyone ever done this?

Okay, I called. You CAN do this. So, I will try to book a room for my ffriend with my DV for the deposit even though I am not on the reservation.

Disney will definitely not, nor would any company, block out rooms to give people an opportunity to purchase a product for a discount when they could get full price and no incentive offers. If there is a lack of availability it is because they have been able to fill the rooms or may have sports events or conventions. Keeping my fingers crossed for FD to drop! I love and hate this waiting!

I'm at the point that as long as we get the free dining at a moderate or cheaper deluxe, I'm happy. If CSR is booked with the FD, I'm hoping to talk DH into AKL or WL.

Just got an offer from disney for disney but when I went on the site it was for rack rates. I got excited for nothing.

Is there any need to put in room requests when we call if for the reservation under free dining? I'm assuming it's something I can call back and do when the lines aren't so insane? Hopefully if other people do the same, it will free up the agents quicker to get to the rest of us poor saps on hold?

all the standard moderate have no availability for my dates.. seems strange to me..even carribean
