You must book a MYW package with a minimum 3 night stay and a minimum 2 day base ticket for everyone on the reservation ages 3 and up.

Except with a room only discount you can't get the dining plan.

You can use a room only discount on a paid dining plan package. The term "room only" just refers to the type of discount, not that you are only allowed to use it for a room only reservation. :goodvibes

I don't think that's expensive for the mugs. I think a lot of people see the price and think that's what they're paying for just drinks. But really you're getting a souvenir and drinks. If you didnt get to keep the mug, that'd be a different story!

I have no problem with the price because I generally stay seven or more days . But there have been trips in the past where I've stay over a long weekend, purchased the mug and was not able to use it much because our room was so far away from the food court that we would just purchase soda from the machines on our floor. But it made a nice souvinear. I don't think I would use it much at other resort's, I'm not at other resort's for any reason except to do ts dining.

Yeah if we stay at Ft Wilderness we will get it free but would not pay for it there, not close enough to the cabins (at all) to be worth it.

Just stopping in... you know.. to obsessively wait for any info... :surfweb:

Yes, you can as long as you book a package with a minimum 1 day ticket (or if you qualify for a ticketless package). :thumbsup2

You can not use a room only discount on a package. You can get tickets with a room only but not dining. That's why it's called a "room only" discount.

You are mistaken. I have done it multiple times. You cannot get FREE dining when using a room discount, but you can pay for a dining plan and use a room discount on a package. As I explained above, "room only" only means that the discount applies to the room portion of the stay. It does not mean you must only book a room. :goodvibes

Two years ago we got a 30% Room only discount and then added park tickets and dining to make it a package. We even got all the little extras that come with the package. So it can be done, unless it has changed since then.

Nothing has changed. Still doable! :thumbsup2

Are you an AP holder? If so that is why you are able to add dining to an AP room only discount. You can not add dining to a regular room only booking. I've checked not only the Disney website, but both WDW prep school and Mousesavers agree it can't be done.

Not an AP holder, but I am talking about booking a package with tickets and dining using a room discount, not booking a room only and dining. That option is only available for AP holders booking with an AP room discount and members of the military using the military room discount. DVC can also book ticketless dining, but they would not be using a room discount. This is the post I am referring to when I said you were mistaken...

You can use a room only discount to book a package, including tickets and a paid dining plan. I have done it multiple times.

And you are mistaken. We got a pin code for a room only discount and the only thing we could add was tickets, even when we called Disney(and the phone cm was not a typical one, she did everything possible to help us). Room only discounts are for room only bookings. Also, the dining plan is considered a discount even when you pay in full for it, and you cannot combine discounts. If you book a room, tickets, and dining it becomes a package and is no longer a room only.

I have booked a package like this every year for the last 7 years with the exception of 2011 where there were no discounts for our dates. A paid dining plan is not considered a discount in terms of booking. Perhaps the confusion is in the wording. If there is a "room discount" offered (whether it is via PIN code, Disney Visa or public), you can 100% absolutely positively use it to book a package including tickets and a paid dining plan.

I currently have a fall RO discount and have booked dining plan and park tickets.

I been out of town the last 10 days, so I don't know if I have already said this, but just in case I haven't yet,

:welcome: to the boards! :goodvibes

We have also booked a ' Room Only ' reservation many, many times, using a ' Room Only ' discount offer and then added tickets and the Dining Plan
Direct from mousesavers web site
"This is a 'room only' offer but tickets and dining plans can be added ( which will change your booking to a package, subject to package rules )
