Free Dining Extension ~ Oct-Dec

So what if you check in a couple of days BEFORE the offer.... I want to go first week of nov. If we check in on the 31st of oct would that get us the deal?
(of course if your dates are correct).

As long as your check in date falls on a day the promotion is offered, then you get it the entire trip.

For example, free dining runs from September 2-25. If you checked in on the 25, you'd get it for your entire stay. However, if you checked in on September 1, you would get no free dining for any of your trip.

Got a call last night being offered a pin for FD! (My husband accidentally hung up on them .. I had to call back this morning) So we ended up upgrading to a moderate and saved about $500.

We are going 11/9 - 11/17, so we had to do a RO for the 9th & 10th (blackout dates, probably because of the half marathon?), but we weren't doing parks on the weekends anyway so it's fine. We'll just pay OOP for food that day and a half.

Was it from a guest relations person? I had spoken with them last week & was told that she would take my reservation information down and if anything became available she would call.

I think from what I could get from the message, they had a pin and were in the process of booking it and got disconnected. So they called her back to finish booking it.

That isn't how it sounds to me, hopefully they'll come back to tell us more!

Just reread it. I think you are right. When she said husband hing up on them, I thought she meant mid reservation. Must be nice to have them come looking for you. Lol

I keep wondering the same thing. Last year the free dining ended the Thursday before Thanksgiving. I even received a RO pin that ended on the thursday before Thanksgiving. It went unused though because my husband didn't want to leave until the Sunday before Thanksgiving.

This year it is actually possible to move our Monday arrival back to Saturday if free dining is available.

If it's moved back to Thursday, we probably won't be able to take advantage of a GP offer. Friday may or may not be doable.

So what are we thinking on a release date for this? July 12/13-ish like last year? Or later in the month, based on the fact that the current Free Dining offer doesn't expire until 7/31? We are going to be out of town the week of July 8th, so I'm really hoping it doesn't come through that week, and maybe at least a week later when it would be easier for me to call (although I know that would not be popular with a lot of people).

Black is estimating early August. I would much rather it be sooner, but it sounds accurate to me.

I had been working with the IT dept and Guest Relations to get an incorrect name off my Disney Destinations account. Kept asking about a Free Dining pin for my dates (11/29 thru 12/6) and being told I didn't have one. Lo and behold, I get a call from Guest Services offering the pin. And the first call came while I was at work & I had to hang up on them too. God love them for their persistance, called me back 3 times!!!

We check in on the 10th and still until the 19th. Will they extend the FD to include all of our dates or just the second half? Also, does anyone know the upcharge from QS?

We are also going to be out of town, and four hours behind eastern time. I'm really hoping it doesn't come out that week. If it is on Monday, I will have to make an international call and pay $$$$ on my cell phone bill. If it's on Thursday, I will be in the country, but I would have to get up at 3 local time if I wanted to call first thing. Since I will be in a room with my family, this won't go over well. Of course, I can't be too concerned because I will be on the Disney Wonder on an Alaskan cruise!!! We booked a last minute VGT rate. Even though I am thrilled, I am worried I won't have access to the free dining announcement. First world problem, I know!!!

I called once and they told me I didn't have one. I called a week later and I had one....so keep calling!

Did this just happen today? I can't believe how crappy my luck is. Noone ever comes looking to give me free dining, and they won't give it to me when I go to them. Kind of frustrating when you hear so many positive stories.
