Free Dining Extended!

I emailed my TA as soon as I saw this thread posted (about 11:30) she was on hold with Disney for over 20 minutes and had to end the call because she had a meeting. She says she will try again this afternoon. How frustrating!!!

We are booked 11/28 to 12/4 with a 30% discount pin which saved us 363.00. FD will save us more but I am not willing to change resorts to get the FD pin, so I am going to keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.

Eeek, sorry about your TA. It sounds like this might have caught people off-guard today.

Had a reservation 12/18 - 1/1 just had free dining added. As long as you check in during the date it is being offered it should be extended for your whole stay :cool1:

I had 2 reservations originally made. One for the free dining offer that came out this spring... 9/26-10/2 and then I also made one for the dates that i really wanted for late october 10/24-10/30- HOPING they would extend free dining. And they just did!!!

But now what....?? Which one do I keep!!? Not wanting to thread-jack, but what is the temps like in Florida in late sept compared to late oct??:confused3

Last year the last week of September AND the last week of October were insanely hot. I would think your odds would be better the last week though. The year before I think it was chilly on Halloween.

We were there the last week of September last year. I just firmed up FD for December for this year........... WOO HOO!

I just tried to do a split stay:sad2: Since I would have to to buy more park hopper tickets it would cost me $440 more than what I paid to get "free dining" for 4 days :sad1:

NICE!! this is the first time we will be taking advantage of Free Dining and I am psyched!

Thanks for the insight on the temps/weather.... Its really a draw for us. Sept is our 13th anniversary and DS#3's 4th birthday BUT a super busy time of year with school just beginning and Fall sports. Yet there are no real celebration in late october but sports should be over by then...

Just got off the phone with Disney. We were booked 12/15 through 12/21 at POP. He didn't have to change anything on my reservation! I had already paid for quick service dining plan. He just refigured everything and it saved us $400. I AM SO HAPPY! I feel like I hit the LOTTERY! Thank you so much for posting this thread. I would have never known until it was too late! Going to do the happy dance! :cheer2:

So I got it. I had the 30% off Pin Code and with this discount I saved another $250 on my trip.

My dates are November 16th-24th

CM said she didn't know if it would work but would try and it did. So it is going with the old standard that as long as you check in before the black out dates it will work for the whole trip

You were able to keep the 30% discount as well as FD????

Aw crud...just got the confirmation e-mail from Disney with my new ressie and they added in insurance! I didn't want it and it says it's non refundable (and almost $135!). Now I'm on hold and I just know it's going to be heck to get them to do anything about that. Grrrrr...

We had booked our original ressie with a room only discount. They voided that and figured it with free dining and we saved over $350!!!!! More money to by Eeyores!!!!!!!!

So tell me free dining veterans, does having the dining plan for free change anything when we are there ordering meals? like a different menu or etc??

darn it my aaa t/a is out of town until 7-9. We have a trip booked for 11/19 to 11/27 with her. Due to her being unavailable I took it upon myself to rebook to take advantage of Free dining and changed my dates to 11/18 to 11/27 and saved $1300. It is my understanding that my t/a will cancel my old reservation but will they also be able to take control of my new reservation so I will be able to enjoy the AAA perk of parade special viewing and AAA storytime.

Nope, you'll be ordering from the same menu as the paying guests. :)

I don't know...the CM I spoke to this morning alluded to the fact that TA's couldn't book the FD offer or with pins (saying you had to go through Disney). I sure hope not, because I really like the AAA perks.

My "less than 14 minute" wait-time, is now holding steady at 27 minutes. I am going to be really cheesed if I waited all this time just to be told to go pound sand.

I am curious to know what the AAA perks are that you speak of... I have AAA and would love to know!! Thanks a bunch~:surfweb::surfweb:

They like to sneak that in. I think you have about 10 days to cancel that. :goodvibes

Special parade viewing, story time reading, character meet and greets, and most importantly, the premium parking pass. Allows you into the "VIP" lot which at all the parks is practically next to the turnstiles. MK parking is close to the boat/monorail launch. It was a HUGE bonus on our last trip.

I sure hope so! 30 minutes now...

Been on hold 27 minutes & counting popcorn::
I have POP booked w/ the 40% off code, but the FD will be sooo much better for my family

If you are not booked already it is showing up on the Disney website now to book it yourself.

My wait time was 30 mins this morning and the first thing they asked is if I booked through them. But wouldn't a travel agent be booking through them as well?? I've never used an agent so I don't know. Sorry if that was a stupid question.

Yeah:banana::banana: Had our trip booked already with dining, with hopes of free dining. After being on hold for about 20 min., I finally got someone on the line. Saved us about $1300. 11/17-11/27.

I just checked the Disney website and it is soo expensive still, even with FD. For 5 nights Sun-Fri AKL is $2200 for 2 people and POR is $1500. :scared:
