Free dining at AOA!

I'm so glad I logged onto the DIS during lunch - I saw AOA is offering free dining for our September trip so I logged on to the WDW website and booked! We are checking in September 15th - the first day it opens, and were able to get FD for our entire stay

The room was about $10 more a night, and we paid $11 more/night per person to upgrade to standard dining (we were already doing this staying is ASM)...so for $70 more a person we're staying at AOA.

To say my day is made is an understatement

I'm assuming you got the Little Mermaid section like me. We were lucky to have been checking in on the 15th because that is the only check in date that it's working for so far and if you're check-out is after the 22nd evidently that's not working either. Happy for you and me but I feel bad for the others who are so desperately wanting to stay there as well. I've said a few times in these forums that I'm guessing it was either a mess up and they weren't supposed to offer LM section at all or it's supposed to be appearing for other dates as well and they don't have it fixed yet. Anyway jumping with joy for those of us that have it cause we're going to be the very first ones in the rooms.

Have you heard anything about the busses? I'm wondering if it will share with pop or have its own. Either way I'm super excited about being the very first ones to stay in the room!

Nothing official has come out about the buses yet. Hoping AoA has it's own buses. POP's buses are usually pretty full so I don't see them combining but you never know. Maybe it'll depend on the time of day or time of year. They'll probably test out both ways to see what works best. I'm gonna cross my fingers and hope we get our own and that they run as smootly as POP's always has for us.

Congratulations!! Now you have to change your ticker LOL. I learned a few years ago don't do a resort ticker when you are a changer So of course, my ticker now is a resort one!

Make sure you come back and post lots of pictures.

I've heard from several sources now, that AoA will have it's own buses. They're not supposed to be 'sister' resorts so nothing should be shared.

OMG, I can't believe you have been driving back and forth for all of your trips from Limerick, Sharadoc! That's dedication; good for you!

I called earlier today, and I was told that they are still loading the AOA room categories for free dining. I wish they would hurry, hurry! I'm struggling with whether or not I should just book room only to hold my days, in case they sell out. What to do?! What to do?!

Ha I am definitely a resort changer! This is the FOURTH time I've called this month to cancel. We first started at AS Sports because Movies wasn't available with FD. Then ASM became available so I booked it and cancelled Sports. Then we decided to add 3 days to our trip so I booked it and cancelled the other. THEN we were able to book at AoA so I'm going to cancel again tomorrow.

I know I can just call and have them change it but I never want to spend the time on the phone.

Time to change my ticket - I'm not changing again!

I would probably book it - you can always get your money back!

OMG, I can't believe you have been driving back and forth for all of your trips from Limerick, Sharadoc! That's dedication; good for you!

Yep, we do it out of choice, plus it's easier to justify two trips a year that way! It's really not that bad. Since we're not close to an airport, we would have to leave home around 3 1/2 to 4 hours before our flight time, so we figure we have a 10 hour day door to door at least when flying. Driving is only another 6 or 7 hours on top of that and we can stop when we want, keep to nobody's schedule but out own, eat and drink, etc. Oh, and open a window for fresh air LOL.

That was years ago. Family suites are included in all discounts and promotions. Only the real "suites" in the Deluxe hotels, like the Presidential suite, Bridal Suite, etc. are not included.

I read some other posts, I think something funny is going on with the dates. We definitely did not book a suite and got free dining.

Only the family suites are available prior to Sept. 15th as the Little Mermaid section isn't open until then. The suites ARE included though as I priced them out for our stay beginning Aug. 25th.
