Free Dining Announcement by April 12

We have!! Four families - we've made all our dining ressies and everything - in the hopes of free dining.:)

Now, we will still go in the fall if it's not offered. But everything will change! We won't go until October, we'll stay at Shades of Green, and we will only eat at one or two table service restaurants.

I understand where you are coming from, however I will be going in Sept. (with dining) regardless if they offer it for free. If alot of people are booking, then making ADRs that really ties them up for others who are still going.

I too am on the verge of booking for September, but now think I should wait until the 12th to do so. What happens, will they reimburse me anyway or just add it on?? My sister and her family went this time last year and also were offered the free DP, we had to pay in December:headache: - but it was worth every penny!!!

When I booked through Disney the operator told me that they would reimburse me if I called back. I am adding dining anyway, but she also said that if I wanted to wait I could add it later. I decided to book because I am afraid that rooms will book fast. I am sure that if the dining isn't offered there will be alot of cancellations however.

Yeah we are already booked with ddp. HERE is some pixie dust for us to wish on!pixiedust:

Don't worry, I'll cancel all my ADR's if free dining is not offered.

I'm more concerned about people making their resort reservations and don't plan on going if it's not offered. Like others have speculated, the more rooms Disney has booked, the less free dining packages they need to offer.

I took it to mean that you had made your resort reservations. Yeah, I know what you mean. Although, that would mean less crowds....LOL. So did you book the package in the hope that you will get refunded for the free dining, or just booked your ADRs?

Just ADR's and we've got our resort hopes planned out. We want to stay at POR. My travel agent explained that if POR looks fairly full, they won't need to offer as many packages there. Since you can only add free dining to your reservation if there's an available package, there is no advantage to already having a room and in fact we could be hurting ourselves.

I just got an email from my agent and she just word that free dinning will be offered but she didn't give me the months that it would be given out or the release date of this deal but I do know it has to be for at least Sept. 07 (due to the fact that is when we are booked) so Hold on everyone it is looking GREAT for us. :dance3:

My dilemma now is, since we are going Aug 18-26, do I book for the 26th to the 2nd of September with the anticipation of free dining coming out for those dates? We have two rooms at CBR, I'm debating booking the two rooms for the following week instead or in addition to, and then cancel whichever week doesn't fit in with the plan. (If rumors are right and the package won't start until the 6th) I also need to change ALL my ADR's...and am debating booking those now as well. Ahhh decisions decisions..cmon April 12TH!

 Love your avatar! Too cute

If you're talking about booking completely different dates based on what happens with free dining, I would wait. It would really whomp if you did all that and then had to fix it all if the promotion isn't what we expect it to be. It's only another week to wait (seems like forever, but in the grand scheme of things - not too long).

Hi
I don't know really much about this free dining. I already booked our trip in August. If there is free dining the week I am there and I have already purchased the dining plan, it is too late for me, right? This is just to try to get people to book trips?
Thanks.

Aww thanks, I've been dubbed the Avatar Queen, I change it pretty regularly and it's always something...well...odd.

The only reason I'm thinking about booking for the next week, is because its two rooms at a moderate, and I'm afraid that if I don't get on the phone as soon as it's announced, I won't be able to get the two rooms :(. I was just going to keep both ressies until we found out then cancel whichever one doesn't fit with the plan. (don't flame me people....I know I might be taking up too much space....but for a savings of nearly 1600.00...I'm doing whatever it takes........:rotfl2: )

btw....

I just called CRO and tried to book a package using the pin code. It is "room only" code. No DDP allowed :sad1: I have no idea if that's significant or not, but since I was trying to book for 9/18, it may be due to free dining??
Dang! I wish had a room only code! My family is buying annual passes this year and only need to make reservations for resort rooms but I can't find a discount for it!

You can make changes to your package, including applying a discount code for say free dining, without any penalty up to 46 days out from your trip.

If your going to save $1,600 you must have a pretty good size group going. Have you looked at airfare? You may save quite a bit on airfare if you don't fly home Labor Day Weekend. And you could book with AAA to save on the rooms if you keep with your original dates.

I've booked with AAA for 8/20 to 8/30. I want to go for 10 nights so waiting til the 26th isn't an option I want to do. I also like the idea of a few days at home before school starts.

Do you have the AP yet? You can book a package and upgrade the tickets the AP's after you check in.

Disney Travel told me that they wouldn't know what type of Annual Passholder discount might be available for our travel dates until Fall of 2007. He also told me that any Annual Passes discount would probably be available for a certain number of rooms at only certain resorts and that he wouldn't have that information until Fall 2007. He suggested that I call back then to see if we would qualify for any discount and also told me that we might have to change our plans and stay at a different resort. That's okay with me, I just want to save as much money as possible so that we can afford to take the grandparents with us too! I am new on the boards and trying to soak in as much good advice and tips as I can!

I would love to go to Disney for Free Dining! But I'm already going in August and again in October. Then to go again in September or late August? But it's free Dining! Everyone's already booking and making ADR's too. I would like to book too, but don't want to book wrong dates. Oh what to do....

Hi
I didn't read all the posts so I don't know if this is here, but I read this on another post about free dining, www.mousebuzz.com/images/freedining.gif

I tried to book on line and the same message came up, when I called TA to get her to book (so I could add flights at the same time) she called Disney was told this was put up on site in error and is now gone. Cannot book with this deal yet.....boo hoo

Even though they put this up as an error they still should give it to you. it wasn't your fault it was theirs and they should take that into consideration.

Kind of like when a dept. store marks something wrong you still get for the price that was marked.

LOL that is what I said to my TA. I guess if I had to book on line then it would have applied, but I cannot book flights as I am in Canada (Newfoundland). The TA is a good friend and she agreed but it's not there anymore so c'est la vie. At least I know for sure it is coming, and I am booking regardless. I am willing to pay for the dining plan. The only reason I haven't booked is because I want to pay it all upfront in cash so I only need a couple of more paydays.

I have a question for you but it doesn't go with Disney. Since you live in the NewFoundland have you ever heard of The Great Big Sea??
