Free Dining and Ticket Package Rules

In a nutshell;
Based on 2017 Free Dining Plan offer; Could you qualify for the free dining plan if you book a 14 night stay, but only buy a 2-day MYW PH ticket? If so, does that give you 14 days worth of dining credits or 2?

My Details;
We need to book 3 rooms, All Star Sports, 9-night stay (Sept. 7-16, 2018), but I only want to book 6-day park hopper plus tickets for everyone (going to Universal a day or two, not sure which days).

IF, Disney offers a free dining package for fall, based on 2017 rules, do my park ticket purchases (number of days) have to match my number of room nights (or 1 less) in order to get free dining?

If I CAN do 6 nts./6-day PH+, do I get 9 days of free dining credits or 6?

If I CAN'T do the above, but want Free Dining, I'd have to book a split reservation so 6-day park hopper plus tickets are consecutive to get free dining those 6 days? So I'd probably have to do Universal at beginning or end because WDW tickets are tied to each res, not each person/can't split my Park tickets or they'd cost a lot more? Then I'd have to book a separate room-only res. for the remaining days we're at Universal but want to stay at Dis?

The 2017 offer was for a 5 night/6 day MYW room and ticket package, but then it says minimum 3 night stay, with minimum 2-day MYW ticket w/PH, PH+, max. 14 nights.

yes you are confused, Disney means you can book up to 14 nights, not only for 14 nights reservations. All disney bookings are for 14 nights, it means if you are staying for more nights the rest of the nights have to be a separate reservation. The minimum amount of tickets is in order to qualify for free dining, you can get more days and still get free dining

PS: you will get dining credits base on the number of nights you are staying not base on the number of tickets.

Absolutely. We've done this on every year, and it's like that for next December with free dining (bounceback). I have an 8n stay with 6 days tickets.

Your reservation for 9 nights will include dining for the entire stay (ie, with the regular Dining Plan, each Guest in your room would get 9 TS, 9 QS and 18 Snacks total). But you can adjust the number of days of tickets as you need as long as it satisfies the offer minimum. This could be 2day tickets with Park Hopper option (lately, FD has been requiring hopper). Or you could get up to 10 days of tickets (current max for US Guests).

Before FP+, I would have the minimum required, and then upgrade the tickets on site paying with the Disney Visa Rewards accumulated.
