Free Dining and saving the tickets

I apologize if this has already been addressed, but I couldn't find it anywhere.

I was looking to take advantage of the Free Dining offer for a time in Sept. This would be a SOLO trip, so just 1 room, 1 dining package, and 1 7-day ticket. I already have an annual pass.

Can I hold onto the tickets and use them at a later date? I will be going back to WDW in December with a friend, and ideally I would like to use the 7-day ticket from the package on them, as I will still have my annual pass in Dec.

Will this work?

Unless you want to, you don't have to buy a 7 day ticket, you can buy a 2 day ticket. Don't know if you knew that.

Go to Guest Services and have them "prioritize" your tickets so the annual pass gets used and not the extra ticket.

Do you mean you want to give the extra ticket to your friend? Then you will have to link your friend to your MDX account, and then reassign that ticket to them. You can reassign the ticket as long as it is unused.

Have never done it myself but I believe you can have your ticket put on a card instead of linked to you in MDE. You can then give that hard ticket to anyone to be assigned to them.

My wife and I did this 2 years ago. We are just now using the tickets for our next trip at the end of the year.

Just make sure that your new tickets get disconnected from your magic band. If you forget, just make sure you go to guest relations to have it fixed. We had to do that as well, lol.

Before you go into the park on the first day this September, make sure you stop at Guest relations outside the park and they put the priority on your current annual pass. My parents do it all the time to take advantage of the free dining and then when they renew their annual pass, they use the unused credit for the two day pass and put it towards it. If you do not do this and you "accidently" use the tickets from when you got your room, it will expire. Have a great time and as previous posters have said, you only need a two day if you want it.

For the free dining package you only need to purchase a 2 day ticket as part of the package.

However...Are you planning to purchase the 7 day ticket because your friend needs it for the December trip? Booking FP+ is dependent on the number of days on the park ticket so if you want to book FP+ in advance for 7 different park days it would make sense to have a 7 day ticket for your friend. Just be sure to stop at Guest Relations before you enter a park on your September trip to have the ticket removed so you don't accidentally use it instead of your AP.
