Free Dining and POFQ

I was able to book POFQ the first day of the Disney Visa free dining promotion. I first had the CM quote me Pop and then I asked about POFQ. Both were available, and POFQ was only $40 more since we were going to upgrade the dining plan if we stayed at Pop, so we went with POFQ. It's a resort I've had on my list to stay at some day. We did have to get a garden view room, and I hate paying extra for a certain view. I keep looking to see if standard rooms open up and nothing at all is coming up for POFQ now.

Since they added the garden view classification, it is almost impossible to get a discount on a standard view room. I'm thinking there are not many standard rooms left at POFQ!!

It seems like the free dining is only available with upgraded rooms for some reason. It was the same way last year when we book the free dining for canadians at POR no standard room was available and then when this offer came out, it was again not available but every other room type which was at an extra cost was available. a friend said she had to book prefered also at ASmovies to get free dining.

When I talked made my change to the Free Dining offer we wanted POFQ and the CM I talked to tried several times and then she said that the only rooms at POFQ available were for king bed rooms. We are traveling w/kids and need 2 queen beds and 3 rooms for our party size. I know every CM you talk to is different though. I have tried since it has been up on the website to see if POFQ opens but I also get a message in red popping up about no rooms in the selected category. We had to go w/POR and garden view. Never stayed there either but excited to try it out. Good luck to you!

You will absolutely love it. One of my favorites. We love the mansion side pretty and manicured. Easy to get to Old Man Island and the food court. Peaceful. A bigger selection of a food court then the POFQ.

Thanks for the info. We are getting excited. I liked the idea of FQ being a lot smaller. We looked at a lot of pictures though and I think the older kids are going to like POR better. I have been looking at the pictures and hope we get the mansions too! I am not changing resort. I am not changing resorts. I have to keep telling my self that because I read stuff on here and want to change every day because really they all look like so much fun. If only we could stay at every resort at least once!

I am trying to resist changing, too. You all are helping! I am rethinking my POR reservation with the AAA discount, and wondering if I should just go back and change back to POFQ, or at least see if there is availability without the AAA discount. I can't believe I am thinking of paying rack rate if I can get the same level of resort for less. But we really prefer POFQ. We've been to both enough that we can make a pretty fair comparison. We really liked POR and would have never tried POFQ in 2007, except that POR was booked for that visit. THat's when we realized that we liked POFQ so much.

THe AAA discount was really not that much, but it just feels silly to lose a discounted price in order to pay full price for another.

I cant find availibilty at POFQ for free dining... in fact online it keeps saying no moderates at all!

I have been all over the place with this promo. I wanted POr but there was no standard rooms. Nothing at all for POFQ. Only water view at POR. I could get CBR or CSR. I went with CBR. I still wasn't really feeling that I wanted to stay there. So dh and I talked and when POP opened up I was all over that.

We prefer the QSDP since we go for so long. So we will just pay Op for a couple of character meals. We were also added the WP&M option to our tickets. We were giving those up staying at a moderate. I still saved over 500.00 plus tips.

But you guys keep on trying to book these puppies and maybe they might "over book" And some of us will be forced to get bumped and have to spend our WDW vacay slumming at the Poly, Contemp, or God forbid the GF.
