Anyone had any luck booking POFQ and general public free dining?

I'm kinda freaking out, I emailed my TA last night asking about it, and she replaied and said she couldnt confirm or deny but that if it was released she'd get it applied to my exsiting ressie (POFQ Sept 15-27) and let me know, but I still haven't heard anything!

I'm trying not to freak out, but it would save me $1200, I just emailed her again to say we're happy to switch to POR if we need to (which is still showing availbility on my dates on the Disney website) and just need to remmeber to breathe

What is it about FD that gets us all hot and bothered?
:goodvibes

Sorry, I also posted in the general resorts board (whoops, sorru :confused3)

My TA was able to book us at POFQ yesterday with the public free dining offer. At the time she called, she wasn't able to get what we originally wanted (standard 2 queen beds/garden view), but instead we had to upgrade to a king bed room ... which was fine with us. She said she had been on hold for quite a while, but finally was able to get it taken care of.

Do you have your confirmation number? If you do, and you're registered on the Disney website, you can check your reservation there.

As far as the TA goes ... I would be on the phone first chance I got - I know there seemed to be a lot of POFQ posts here yesterday where people were able to book with FD.

Hope everything works out the way you want it to!

When I talked made my change to the Free Dining offer we wanted POFQ and the CM I talked to tried several times and then she said that the only rooms at POFQ available were for king bed rooms. We are traveling w/kids and need 2 queen beds and 3 rooms for our party size. I know every CM you talk to is different though. I have tried since it has been up on the website to see if POFQ opens but I also get a message in red popping up about no rooms in the selected category. We had to go w/POR and garden view. Never stayed there either but excited to try it out. Good luck to you!

Wanted POR but there was nothing at POFQ. We would have had to book a river view for 300.00 more at POR . I'm not going to be looking out the window much. So we went with CBR.

I kept trying yesterday and was told no on the phone, and saw the "no availability" online repeatedly. For one hot second it did show online and when I tried to book it, it gave an error message after I put in my credit card number.
:(

It seems that maybe Disney is not offering POFQ for the free dining promo. If they are it's only a certian # of rooms. The website shows that every room catagory is available if you try to book the stand way without going through the FD link. That leaves me to believe they aren't giving out many fd promos at this resort.

Thanks for all your responces :) I finally got a hold of my TA and am now booked for 15 Sept - 27 Sept, POR garden view, which was about $200 more than I had expected, but we're still saving $1000 overall :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

my TA did say there was still standrad availabulity at Cornando and Carribean if anyone is interested? I decided on POR, as I'm not a huge carribean beach fan and cornando seems a little intimidating with it's conventions and stuff. (yes, im a loser)

Im sureI'll still love POR. Anyone got any good stories to get me excited? :) I think the refurb will be finished by then too

Off to change my ticker ::rolleyes1

Oh no that sucks! Hope you got something good in the end!:wizard:

I had room at POFQ for Sept 22-30 booked and tried to add FD yesterday. No go. Had to take Riverside garden room. Looks like they want to fill Riverside

Our top 2 picks were Pop & POFQ. DH loves Pop (I do too) but I just fell in love with POFQ went I stayed there in 2010 and wanted to share that with him on our anniversary trip.

Neither of those resorts was available at the start of the FD promo so I booked CBR standard...not what I wanted, but hey, we were going to make the best of it; the pics look lovely.

I was messing around online later in the afternoon and saw ASMo had opened up for FD so thought I would try Pop and POFQ. No go on POFQ but we are now booked at Pop! Woohoo!

We are a bit disappointed too  We had a POFQ booking for Sept 22 - 28 and i just assumed that when FD was announced we could just add it to our booking (we had booked a full package already)

Anyway, my TA tried and they said they had no rooms available, but we could switch to POR. she is going to keep trying, but it's not looking good

Sorry to hear that. When I talked to our TA yesterday after she got everything set up for us, she said our confirmation/reservation number did not change - that she was able to just add the free dining promo onto our existing reservation (with the minor change of upgrading to a king room).

As a side note, we were also offered POR/river view, along with the value resorts, as other options. This was around 11 a.m. EST.

THis is interesting because yesterday I tried to book POFQ with just a AAA rate. We are going a week before free dining, so no FD for us. But all I could get at POFQ with a AAA rate was a King bed, which won't work with 4 people. So maybe they are not giving discounts at all with POFQ. I know there are rooms there, because they are available (without discount) online.

We ended up booking POR, which is OK, I guess, but POFQ is really our first choice. We have stayed at both, and prefer the small size of POFQ.

POFQ is no longer a hidden gem. This is unfortunate for us POFQ lovers. For spring, there was no AP rate or general public rate for POFQ. :sad1:

I was able to book POFQ with the Free Dining for Disney Visa on the first day. Had to take a Garden View. I had wanted Movies but they weren't offering it then. The CM on the phone offered me Sports or POFQ. Maybe they are opening up different resorts as they fill the ones that are harder to fill? :confused3 POFQ was only about $200 more than Sports if we upgraded to regular dining. Since the CM brought that to my attention, I booked it. I can see it booking up fast if they were mentioning that to everyone.

I'm pretty excited about our French Quarter stay, though. We've never stayed in anything but a Value so it should be fun for us. But, my little girl would have been over the moon in Movies. :lovestruc

Keep trying though. You know people will cancel!

We originally had booked through AAA and used an AAA TA - we originally set everything up in late January, using the AAA discount for POFQ 2 queens/garden view. She couldn't get standard view to come up at all at that time - garden view was the cheapest room rate available to us with the AAA discount.

I have been all over the place with this promo. I wanted POr but there was no standard rooms. Nothing at all for POFQ. Only water view at POR. I could get CBR or CSR. I went with CBR. I still wasn't really feeling that I wanted to stay there. So dh and I talked and when POP opened up I was all over that.

We prefer the QSDP since we go for so long. So we will just pay Op for a couple of character meals. We were also added the WP&M option to our tickets. We were giving those up staying at a moderate. I still saved over 500.00 plus tips.

I just booked a few minutes ago online for 14 nights at Pop and upgraded to deluxe dining. It's so darned hot during this time that I figure I don't mind centering this trip around some really wonderful meals. We like the Signature dining locations anyway and I'm not looking to "get our money's worth" out of the dining reservations- just to be relaxed about it all and have a laid-back trip.

Weehhheeee! So after we tranferred to POR with a king bed room (could also get garden view, but King bed was only $200 more so we went with that, it's just me and DBF) and finally coming to peace with my decision last night, I couldnt help myself this morning, went on and POFQ is available for my dates, Garden View $3021.90, so $200 cheeper than the $3224 we're paying for POR (12 nights). :scared1:

I dont know what to do?

I only picked POFQ because I've stayed at POR before and loved it, but wanted to try somethign new (but dont love CBR at all). I did like the smaller size, but we'd planned to go over to POER for most of our foodcourt meals and rest days anyway (to hire the watercraft and stuff), and it has all the other benifiits of POFQ, like the boat to DTD. I'm just worried we'll be stuck out in the booneydocks at POR, and that we wont get a refurbed room (although they should all be done by the time we go).

DBF is really excited about POR now, it's only his second trip so he's never stayed there before, and looked at me silly (like what were you thinking) when I explained all the POR benifits over POFQ last night.

Please convince me I'm doing the right think sticking with POR. The king bed will be amazing, and it can't be THAT long of a wlak to and from the main area can it? the pool looks better and I do love having a quiet pool, especially when it's warmer :rotfl2:

This is so true (and the reason I no longer "talk up" FQ on the Disboards! :rotfl2:) !! I'm hoping that maybe when the refurbs are completely done over at Riverside, that will help the situation at FQ a little bit. For the time being... it seems to be far and away the most attractive moderate.
