Free dining and AP

We have free dining booked for Sept through the bounceback. We thought on our last day of vacation we would upgrade our tickets to AP's since we will be back in Dec. Can I book a room with an AP discount for our Dec trip if I don't have the AP yet?
Also when do AP discounts usually come out? Is there anyway to see what discounts have traditionally been offered for that time of year?
Also can you book a package with dining (I understand you have to buy a one day base ticket to book dining), with an AP room discount?

Yes, you can book the room with the AP discount before you have the AP. You just need it at check-in.

I don't think it will matter because I think it will likely not come out before your September trip, though I am not sure.

No, you cannot book the dining plan on an AP-discounted room.

I am not certain, but I don't think the AP rates have been generous enough of late, so if you are willing to buy the one day ticket anyway, you may be better off with a general public package discount to get the DDP.
