Well hello everyone!!!!

Me and my boyfriend just returned from 2 weeks in the world where we had free dining and stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Just a quick introduction, my name is Laura and this will have been my 6th ish trip to the world but only the third with my boyfriend James! We have been together for 6 years and absolutely love our Disney Holidays- only wish we earned more so we could go more often!!!

Here we are from a previous trip

Day 1

Well as we are from the UK we spend most of our first day travelling. We flew with Virgin Atlantic and unfortunately had a very annoying child/family behind us! Lots of kicking seats, poking and endless games of peekaboo.

So after a relentless 8.5 hours we were finally in Orlando! Now James gets the grumps if he hasn't eaten for awhile so it is always a tradition once we have our bags to go and get a quick McDonalds at the airport!

We then got our transportation to the hotel :scared1: . We mistakingly thought that as we were staying at a Deluxe that we may get some preferential treatment and be dropped fairly promptly! Boy were we wrong it took us about an hour and a half to get to the hotel and were the last people on an entire coach.

OK, so we get to the hotel around 8pm and we wait to be checked in. We then realised that at 8pm the hotel staff do no do things particularly quickly as it took 20 minutes just to get served. We were at the front of the queue but it took them ages to sort out the people they had.

So we eventually get served and we get issued a standard view room. At this point James mentions he made a room request. After another 20 minutes they come back and say they can give us a pool view room!:yay:

We go up to the room and I have to say I would be very disappointed if I paid for this view as it was a roof with no pool in sight. Well we thought as it was free its better than a car park until.........

James found several hairs in the sink:scared1:. This is where I get cross and ring up reception and again after another 20 minutes of yelling they eventually tell us that no more pool rooms were left. I get worried that they are going to take away our free upgrade until the woman says 'would a savannah room be ok?'

I'm trying not to jump up and down at this point and say ' yes well as long as its clean' - so funny. So we scored big and got a room on the Zebra Trail and on our first morning saw this

DAY 2 coming up ....

Day 2

Well in a bid to continue our usual traditions our first day is always Epcot. This gives us a gentle introduction to Disney just in case we a re jet lagged

And on entering we bump into these two

Well when we got to Epcot we thought that we would try to eat around the world. We tried but we couldn't fit it all in but we did split a counter service at Mexico and China. That night we ate at Teppan Edo, so I guess
three countries is a pretty poor attempt at eating around the world!

This is our onion volcano, the food was fantastic and really enjoyed this meal! We would both definitely return here as its just so much fun to watch

oooo I'm in. 102 days to go for me. Attaching on to people's trip reports to get me through it.

Great TR!! Congrats on the upgrade, I love the picture of the giraffe. I can't wait to read more!

DAY 3

James wanted to go to Magic Kingdom today so managed to swap our ADR'S around. We had our Crystal Palace breakfast booked for 8:05 so we could get empty Main Street pictures.

Well we didn't get the pictures because of the poor bus service we experienced throughout the whole holiday from AKL. We got to the Bus stop at 7:20 and didn't get to check in until 8:25!

The breakfast was nice but James isn't so keen on buffets or breakfast so we didn't try very much. But it was nice to see the Characters as we don't usually queue to meet them in the day

When we left breakfast the heavens opened and it rained for most of the morning so we had to buy ponchos to keep dry. The weather eventually cleared up which made the day easier and did all the usual rides adn watched the new parade. Later that day we had dinner at the Plaza and were staying on for Spectromagic and Wishes.

As it started to rain again we decided to take cover while we waited in the rose garden by the castle. Little did I know James was planning something really special.

A photopass photographer came down to get out of the rain and James suggested we get our pictures taken. As we were posing James pulls out a little blue Tiffany box and asked me to Marry Him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cried like a baby for ages and of course said yes.

It was a wonderful evening watching the parade and the fireworks and when we got back to the room these were waiting for me

Day 4

Well today was our Animal Kingdom day. This is one of my favorite parks as I love the Safari ride and the Nemo show.

Well the weather just wasn't on our side as after two rides there was a torrential downpour. We got completely soaked, but as we were already wet we thought why not get wetter and went on the rapids. I seem to remember that you don't get very wet on this but found out the hard way that this isn't always the case.

So being as wet a humanly possible where to better to go next?

Yep you guessed it, an air conditioned restaurant.

It was time for our ADR at the Yak and Yeti. We got seated upstairs right by the overworking fan which can't be turned off. We were freezing but the food was really good. They give you a little questionnaire to fill out and this is the doodle James added:

We were so full by lunch but couldn't turn down our free dessert so ordered the brownie sundae

We eventualy went back to the hotel and headed out to Downtown disney and had dinner at Earl of Sandwich - mmmmm if only I had one right now
