Free dining 2014

First check in day. For example, if FD is offered from sept 5-sept 29, you can check in on sept 29 and still get FD for your entire stay. It's up to a certain amount of days, I can't remember if it's 10 or 14?

It's 14 days.

Is there an anticipated release date ? We are booked at POR Sept. 10th to 17th, wondering if those dates will be included or blacked out because it is so close to Food & Wine Any thoughts ??? I can't take the anticipation much longer :scared:

I wouldn't think your dates would not be a problem at all, but I would recommend you have a 2nd and 3rd choice of resort in the event POR is excluded.
Both PO resorts are very popular and a ton of people on the boards are already booked at both POR and POFQ and if Disney is seeing resorts booking without a promotion, they have no reason to include them in the discounts. In the past, at least one of the PO resorts have been excluded from FD due to the early bookings.
Just have an alternative resort (or 2) ready as a backup if you want FD, just in case:thumbsup2

Has free dining ever been offered for the end of August?

Last year was the first year since 2003 that they did not include the last week in August and over Labor Day weekend. I have been taking advantage of the Free Dining since the first year it came out. We go the same time every year and last year they didn't include my dates. I have had friends take advantage as early at Aug. 16 in the past.

I'm hearing that it may be out this coming Monday...not sure when it will go through but...here's hoping:thumbsup2

I think we would have seen a Visa Cardholder offer by today, if it was coming out on Monday. Anonymouse says the Visa offer is coming May 1st or 2nd and the public offer is due on May 5th. I think that's likely.

This is the first I have posted here... but I have been reading for a very long time! My husband tells me I am Disney obsessed! Because of being new to posting on the boards, it won't allow me to put a link in so the best I can do is try to tell you where I have found the rumors for the anticipated FD for this fall... I have been watching like a hawk, because with out FD, we just can't afford to make our trip in December. It is the only time of year I have not been to Disney and am so excited to go.

1. If you do a search on google for Free Disney dinning fall 2014 and then chose the Fall 2014 Free dinning | eat.breathe.sleep.disney link, it will take you to their web sight which hints of the rumor of the upcoming FD

2. If you go to Dads Guide to wdw, then click on the Dad's Blog, and then scroll down a bit and then read the "What's the big deal with free dinning" blog. When you continue reading and it brings up the entire blog, the area that you would focus on is the last 3 paragraphs which mentions again the possible fall FD being announced.

Again, sorry to have to do it this way, but being new... just couldn't put the easy peasy links in for you.

Welcome! Glad you mustered up the courage to post. I was told by someone with a track record that this round of free dining is for the September time frame as in past years. If you're looking for December, you'll probably have to wait for the July/August offer. I'm in the same boat as I'm looking for November.

Thank you for the welcome! Took me quite a while to muster up that courage to post. I usually am just a silent lurker in the back ground reading :flower3:

I am still holding on to my seat for December and scanning the sights like a crazy person. I mainly mentioned the rumors because of those who had mentioned they were looking for September and then I think I remember 1 person even hoping for the late days of August and when I read the 'Dads-blog" it had mentioned rumor of possibly including the last couple days of August.

Looks like I will most likely be out of luck. We are going down Oct 15-19.

those dates are within the period that is historically blackouted for FD because of the Columbus day holiday.
There may have have been a RO for October last year but I can't recall the details. Look for Fall FD/Discount details around mid to late July.

Two possible visa dates are April 21 and May 1. Both dates were determined by the same method, which is to say people have been told to work overtime on those dates. More specifically, April 21, May 1-3.

May 1 is also Halloween Party release, May 2 is the dedication media event for the Mine Train and earnings call is the 6th.

Also, promos drop on Mondays and Thursdays. So we wouldn't expect a release today regardless.

So are we pretty confident this is the early fall release & not late year? We're crossing fingers for November!

How long is the Vis holder window traditionally before it's open to general public?
