Ok. So I also got the PIN Email this evening. I've gotten them before but it's been awhile. I'm already booked for FD in Sep so I don't need it, but the PIN came to my email with my brothers name on it. I think it's because we went together in 2009 and I was handling the whole family's ressies. I tried to check the link in the email just to see what came up for other dates, put in my zip code and it said it didn't match something in the record and I need to call Disney. If I did try to use this pin, could I if my brothers name is on the invite, even though it came to my email address?

If it does not match your name and address, then no. Did you ask your brother if he got one for you? ;)

Thanks for the idea about decorating for Halloween. Hadn't thought of that.

Since we are flying all I am bringing is window clings, lights, and maybe a door hanger. Remember no tape allowed for decorating.

I met a LOT of DISers in '07. We even had a poolside meet-up Luau at Pop.
My mom and SIL were flabbergasted how I knew so many people walking around the parks. LOL

I was at a dis meet at pop in 2008. It was loads of fun.

True - and if you read 16 backwards, that would be me ... Personally, I prefer saying that I'll be celebrating the 31st anniversary of my 30th birthday this year. Besides, I try to think of it as not getting older, but just that God is granting me another annual promotion. ;)

Lol :rotfl2: that is cute I like that!!

Do they have single family homes or just condos & town homes?

Oh, they have gorgeous single family homes. Yes, absolutely, ranging from 300K to millions.

Disney built the town to sort of reflect Main Street USA & that whole "old fashioned home town" feel. It's really beautiful, we stop there every time we go to Disney to just hang out, shop, have lunch, etc.

We're originally from NYC and grew up in apartments and are just more comfortable with apartment living, being in the center of town action, and having amenities and maintenance crews to take care of stuff. They're smaller, cheaper (both to buy and to run and maintain), lower maintenance, etc.

Okay DISers I have a WWYD question.

I am currently booked at GF for 8/26-9/2. I got an amazing deal but it doesn't include any dining. It will be 5 of us and staying at the GF would never be a reality without this deal. Of course I got the PIN for FD and my TA is going to check the price of POR and AoA for me. I know POR will come out a little less than what I'm paying for GF, and AoA will come out a little more. We can afford to stay with the GF and pay OOP for our food, but I love to save money! This is only our 2nd trip and may be our last for awhile.
What would you guys do?

Honestly I would stay at GF if you have money to now, never know when an opportunity or deal like that may come around again you know? It is definitely easier to get other discounts. My DH really really wants to stay there once but it is out of our budget right now!! So maybe that's why I would say stay there. However if you are able to save enough money and put it in a vacation fund or something so maybe you can go back sooner then you plan then that would be good too! As long as you really save it for that haha :rotfl: good luck! pixiedust:

I'll be at ASSp 9/20-9/28 and will probably decorate our window for Halloween since we're going to MNSSHP! I think it's fine since they're having the parties :)
Not sure about your book getting stolen. I guess it just depends on whether or not any a-holes come along.

This s our first time staying on property and have heard about decorating resort windows! This sounds like fun! Could you give me more info? Thanks! :goodvibes

Oh...that's "a little" out of my price range. Ill stick with the surrounding towns. Real estate is much more affordable.
Do the resort buses go there? I'd love to check it out but we won't have a car.

We're doing 2 2-TS credit meals (CRT & Mickey's Backyard BBQ) on the DDP. We'll be doing QS meals only a couple of days to make up for them.
At $45/person/night to upgrade to deluxe, I think you'd probably be better off paying for an extra TS meal or 2 for around $30 each per person.

We are doing CRT and BBQ too! :cool1: When are you going? We are going 9/10-9/18...ya we considered the deluxe too bc of that but honestly we are going to pay for a few of the cheaper ones. It was cheaper to do that then to upgrade to the deluxe, although there is 4 of us we'd have to pay for! :goodvibes

No tape. You can use suction cups or window clings. You can use magnets for the doors. I also have a plastic mickey head trick or treat bucket I am putting a flameless candle in.

O soooo cute! I love it! Do you know if magnets work on all doors? We are staying at AoA.

I have a question about the pins...how do you get one? I have never received one? Thanks for help! :goodvibes

It's a great mystery that nobody knows. Just make sure Disney has your email in as many places as possible. First is under your profile on their site. You can also sign up for updates, so do that. Also order the park maps and give it there. Then order a vacation planning DVD and give it there. It at least gives you more chances.

Yesterday, I got an e-mail pin. It was, however, in my daughter's married name which is partly mine. (ie. Cathrine Smith-Jones.) I paid for the trip that this was generated from and it did come to my e-mail. Can I use this? It would be nice to go again this year!

If your name is the same, it's worth a shot.
