Free Dining 2013

Is there a reason you're so eager to dissuade people from renting points. I've told you...I don't have points to rent.

Not dissuading, just pointing out the downsides.

And when did you tell me you didn't have points???

Ok - thanks for sharing your success on renting points and there are entire forums dedicated to that topic. I think this forum was on Free Dining 2013 which the disney vacation points don't even participate in. There are significant differences already outlined by lots of people. To each his or her own.

He just bought into one and is looking to rent it out during F&W this year.

I should report this. I'm not offering to rent my points to anyone by posting this. You are making assumptions that aren't there. I find it funny actually.

Thank you!!!

Can we get back to our FREE DINING discussion now! :-)

I apologize. Someone else asked the same question. I thought it was you. It's disappointing then when someone posts a message intended to help people...some on this forum make false assumptions about your intent.

Well, this is a thread about free dining. Please give others credit for "crunching numbers" on their own. They come to this thread, and many others, to learn about free dining, not about renting points.

There is a whole sub-forum on Disboards for DVC, renting points, etc. It is here: http://disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=7

If people want to investigate renting points, they can go to that forum on their own and do so, and see if that's right for their circumstances. As a previous poster said, to each his or her own. I and many others read through these threads crunching our own numbers and researching how FD works (I haven't used FD in several years myself), and I'd prefer to be able to do that without having to go through a bunch of posts about renting points, which I have no desire to do. If I wanted to research renting points, I'd go to the forum I linked above.

What's good for you in your circumstances may not be good for others in different circumstances. Please keep that in mind.

I posted in guda's original thread which he linked the numbers for our trip. That is based on, if there is free dining for our trip. Right now there is not, but he says forget free dining, because it is cheaper to rent points. So if anyone wants an idea, our room would have to be less than $450 for a ten night stay in order for it to be cheaper than free dining in a moderate resort.

Back to the regularly scheduled program. :goodvibes

Brand new here and very thankful for the information. If I currently have a reservation with dining, and want to switch over to free dining, can I do that online or do I need to call them? For a non-visa holder we are thinking 7:00am on Monday?

:welcome:
All changes must be made by phone. If you don't have a Disney Visa, the earliest you can call is 7am on May 9. Good luck! :goodvibes

Non visa holder would be 7am Thursday.

Report it for what? I'm repeating exactly what you have previously stated. You just bought a DVC and will rent it out during the F&W.
