I have always enjoyed that drive....and I have many traditions that I must do, such as always stopping at the Florida welcome center for the little cup of orange juice and loading up on brochures.

Sometimes it's the little things...

OMG, 10 hours is my limit in the suburban with our kids! Lol! If its over 10 hours we fly. Luckily Disney is only 7.5 hours from our house ;-)

Oh, 411, I so hope your dates come to pass. We hope to arrive Nov 20th and will stay until the 30th ~ FD would mean a LOT to us. I'm not good at the waiting game so it will be a very long two or three months until we find out if those dates are covered. As always, thanks for your insight!

There is usually an FD offer that ends the Thursday before Thanksgiving, so usually if you can check in by that date, you can get the discount applied through Thanksgiving week. That's a huge discount during a holiday week.

If fd comes out next week we can set our plans in stone but will need to drive for the first time ever. Nervous about the drive but super excited it may actually happen!

Just wanted to say thanks to Black, 411 and everyone else for the drama-free info and opinions... personally, I fall in the hoping-for-October-FD camp. Anyway... thanks for the enjoyable, friendly and informative posts here

I almost forgot, the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party dates were released this afternoon and go on sale tomorrow morning, May 1st. I know a lot of the September - December travelers have been looking for these dates:

2013 MNSSHP dates: September 10, 13, 17, 20, 24, 27, 29 October 3, 4, 6, 10, 11, 14, 17, 18, 20, 22, 24, 25, 27, 29, 31 November 1

2013 MVMCP dates: November 8, 11, 14, 15, 17, 21, 22 December 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 20

Yup. I'm still trying to decide whether to go on the 10th as the first day, or the 13th since its Friday the 13th. Decisions decisions but I think I'm settling on Friday. After all it's not like I have anything besides a drive home on Saturday lol.

Thanks everyone for your input! I really appreciate it! We arent going to do it. First of all my kids will be 8, 5, & 8 months (I know the baby isnt included anyway) and they eat like birds. We were just thinking about it because 2 of our reasies for CRT and Mickeys BBQ take 2 credits and we wanted to eat at least 1 ts a day. I think it would just be cheaper to for a fewer cheaper meals then to spend over $1000 to upgrade! We definately dont want to take away from park time!

Glad you figured out what will work for you! Sometimes it does work to pay for a couple meals out of pocket. You must be planning a long trip for it to cost $1000 more to upgrade which is fabulous.

I am anxiously waiting for Nov. We are planning for the 10th-16th. If i did my math right it should be available. Fingers crossed

Am I correct in thinking they said there is going to be a limited time magic event on Friday the 13TH with the villains and late hours? If so, I am thinking maybe at DHS? That might really draw the crowds away from the party on Sept 13TH. But I guess you wouldn't know details until much closer to time.

ETA; Here is the info. "The villains are taking over Hollywood Studios for Friday the 13th all the way through the 13th hour (1:00am). The night of mischief will include villainous dance parties and more." If you are not interested in that, I would think the MNSSHP will have low crowds, because many people will be.

Yes you are correct. I was going to check that out earlier in the day and then move to the magic kingdom that afternoon.

We love the 1 table service a day! We try to find the funnest restaurants for the kids and enjoy sitting and relaxing for one meal a day! It's also great to get a break from the quick service lines and burgers!

We feel the same. Even on vacation, we can sit, take a breath and have a meal. We each have our favs but we throw in new ones every year. This year we are trying Saana with 9 and 7 yos. Good or bad decision??

At the time, she was 72 years old and had never been on a plane,hotel or any kind of trip for that matter. She thought Disney world WAS Florida.I actually had more fun with her than I would have with my husband.

Oh, I hope you go and give details! I can live vicariously through you. So wanted to go that week, but DH could not get off work. That is my birthday and my kids wanted to celebrate it rockin' with the Villains. We are going to Mickey's Halloween Party.
