Free Dining 2013 Part 2 ~ The Sequel

For anyone thinking about booking, don't forget the ticket prices will increase tomorrow.

One Day Magic Kingdom tickets are now $95 before tax
One Day Epcot, Hollywood Studios, or Animal Kingdom tickets are $90 before tax

This is why I really wish I could have had the pin! If I am able to add free dining with a visa/GP offer, my ticket price will increase.

That's a lot of money for a ticket for one day, so hopefully they will send out some more pins so we can save some money

Yea! Yea! Yea! Sooo happy you got one! Keep trying you all, ya never know...party:party:

Thank you. :) It was nice to finally get a pin! I expected to hear another no from the CM. When he told me yes, I have a pin, I made him repeat to make sure I have FD pin and not some other fake pin!

I wonder sometimes if we all have a pin but cms just like to play with us/ be jerks. Because with people all of a sudden getting one a day after they call just makes it seem that way. Of course I must be the only one that doesn't have one. Lol I'm cursed.

Saturday night home with the kids, sent the hubby off to work and just about to start raining. What shall I do. Maybe hang out on the dis!

Good Disclaimer! Lol

Riesling Poached Pear Sorbet is made and in two pint containers freezing. The milk chocolate is ready to put in the mixer in the morning.

Boo! I was so hoping to get a pin before the increase. :(

Listen, it really does become a bit annoying with the "sarcasm" here....

LET ME SAY THIS -

1. Disney is a FOR PROFIT business

2. ALL rules HAVE Exceptions that can and will be made - NOTHING is set in stone

3. Perhaps if the "collective YOU" weren't so harsh and rash, other message boards wouldn't be laughing at all of you and mocking you.....JUST SAYIN....and with that I will UNSUB from the thread since everyone BELIEVES they are an expert.

Wow! I didn't even notice many replying to your post. Sorry if you feel you were treated harshly.

You're going to get it. You just have to for both your effort and your honeymoon. I am keeping my fingers crossed. One of these tomes they are going to shock you!!!!

Next week will be at the 180 days and have to start making ressies, so please lets start getting that pixie dust shaking

OK... black, smitch, and all you other experts out there, please let me know if I understand this correctly.

I currently have MYW 7-day park hoppers for each family member. I am hoping for a room discount, and considering adding a day at the parks and maybe even another day at the resort. Three questions:

1. I understand (from a CM), that after ticket prices go up, I would only pay the higher ticket price for the day I add. Is this correct?

2. If I were to get a room discount or free dining, I understand that my reservation would go through a cancellation/re-booking and therefore, my ticket prices will go up for all park days. Under this scenario, there really isn't any advantage to adding the extra park day today, correct?

3. If I do add the additional resort night, would I still go through the cancellation/re-booking process, or would my park tickets be "safe" from added charges?

We are checking in Oct 4th or 5th, so sort of in that middle ground of a possible, but not probably discount. And while I have the floor... personally, I really appreciate all the good humor and speculation on this thread. Thanks! ;)

Any change to your ticket would result in the new price for the entire ticket, not just the added day. Adding any discount code after today will result in paying the new price for the entire ticket. It is my understanding that really any change whatsoever requires the new ticket price. What you could do is buy your tickets now and just book a room only reservation and hope for a room discount to come out. If you keep your package as is and make no changes whatsoever, you can alter your ticket at the park (after you enter) and book a room only for the added day.

ETA: my own personal experience with this is that I had a package booked last year and added a FD code after the increase. We had to pay the new ticket price in order to add FD. Last year was the first year for that process, and it was a computer function with no override. It took a lot of people by surprise.

Yea this seems to be the case. On the plus side, the increase isn't really that much especially for the multi-day passes.

I had the same Expierence last year as smitchShe is correct in previous years when you modified for a dscount your ticket price remained the same.

Very true If I remember correctly it was only around $20 for the 2 of us for 6 day base tix.

It will increase our package price by $69. To some that might not be much, but it is substantial to us. Now as long as we end up with fding it is a drop in the bucket, but if we don't. :(

I suspected that what I was told when I booked my package might not be correct. Thanks for the clarification. The last few vacations were much less tricky to book. We were lucky to get free dining the last two vacations without messing up our tickets. One year happened to be when they had the shorter window for ADR's, so we easily had free dining before we could make our ADRs. Funny how much more there is to learn in just two years!! It keeps me on my toes! :-)
