No, I don't think so. You can't just turn in a room only to a package, especially, if you already have your tickets. I'd call WDW reservations and verify it, but I don't think you can do that.

I'd give up the the room only discount, if it worked out that my tickets could be used and FD added. (I missed the note about buying a photobook.)

anyway...no hurry for me...the offer isn't available to me anyway.

Thanks for the feedback.

I booked 2 nights at POP using the room only discount and my tickets (4 day basic) were ordered separately (I have them already).

If this went GP, Would I be able to extend my stay by one night, use the tickets I already purchased and turn it all into the Free Dining package?

:stitch:

Nope...can't recombine things already bought and paid for.

In the future...don't pre-buy the tickets until the last possible minute unless you absolutely have to.

Yes, they add a pre-order photo book at $99.95 per room. Way too expensive for a photo book but I'd rather save my $200 and have the photobook than no photobook and pay another $200. If the GP promo comes out without the photo book addition so that we could save another $100 then I'll switch to that. I can buy 3 photobooks at Snapfish for that amount!

I am sooooo excited:banana::banana::banana:. I just re booked my trip with FREE DINING. Thank you so much Kelly for letting us know. I upgraded to the basic dining package and it only cost me $500.00 more. I did have the kids stay and play free offer, but this works much better for us :goodvibes. Now I just have to hope the other people in my party can get the free dining because we all have reservations together and I don't want to eat by myself!!!!!

No problem. I can't use it yet since I need a GP offer. I Don't have a DV. But we are going to upgrade our resort to a moderate for this trip. So they will get another 700.00 from us. But we will get a fridge and the plus plan.. So basically 350.00 more for a moderate for 10 days not bad.

We also have a kids free promo but we added the QSDp which we actually pefer. But going for 10 nights pop will be a tight squeeze. So I just made all my ad'rs but then the sight went all wonky like normal on me. So I'm going to try again in a few.

The math of it all...

If we change our resie..we are a family of 4 adults (2 adults 2 kids over 12)..

We get the parkhopper, waterpark fun & more tickets...9days,

Would it be better for us stay at Coronado (where we currently have resies) and get the regular dining, or better to downgrade to Pop and upgrade the dining to regular and pay the difference.

We love Pop..so it wouldnt matter..but would love to try Coronado if the cost is close.

IF there is a general public offer and those are the same dates, then you will have to decide if the savings is worth the hassle of rebooking ADRS and such. For us, we would rebook, as we are a family of 6 and FD saves us about $1,500.00.

The email we got from Disney Visa says the same offer will open to the public on May 2.

How does free dining work with annual passes? Will we have to buy 1 day tickets as AP holders in order to get free dining?
For free dining you are required to buy 2 day park tickets and this Memories package also requires purchasing the photo book which I think is $100. You can save the 2 day tickets and use them towards your AP renewal though. You can buy ticketless packages with your AP now but not free dining.

I'd estimate POP to be about $400 less even with upgrading the dining, but that's still pretty close. If I could upgrade for that amount I'd do it. Just call and they will give you exact quotes. I called earlier and the very helpful CM gave me the quotes with the promo for both rooms.

As for Disney Visa and their advertising of discounts and promos practices and means of notifying Disney Visa holders, let's just say they are lacking. We've had a a Disney Visa for over 6 years and I have gotten very little notification over the years when they are running a special WDW promo. I have always heard it here on the DIS first. Occasionally, you will get an email, but it's usually not unti it's already open to the general public anyway.

I just got the email about this promotion from Disney Visa. This is the first I've ever seen the email anywhere close to learning about it through the DIS. Same day! That's just crazy. ;)

I'm so confused. Where does it say you have to buy a photobook? It says photobook and free dining offer. Granted it doesn't say that the photobook is free but the only thing I read (on tmfl) is that the cost of shipping is included in the package....

I still haven't received anything from Chase/Disney Visa in regards to this offer.

Okay I guess I should have read what DIS posted before asking that question. I get it now!

On the Disney World website there is no mention of or option for choosing "Memories vacation package" when booking.

Are they truly going to upcharge and then give a discount?
That would be annoying.
I already had planned on going value resort, and upgrading to the full plan. With 10 people, that starts to add up. Add in THREE photo books for three rooms, and we're starting to hurt!

Don't forget that at CSR you no longer pay for a fridge. If you were renting the fridge at POP. It's included in your room cost at CSR.

I don't think you HAVE to order the photobook. They are giving you the Option of ordering it at a discount.

I just got some quotes. We are already booked with the kids free. But we are thinking of upgrading to a moderate but we pefer the QSDP. So here is our break down. Yes the photbook tacks on the extra automatically to the package. At cbr we would be getting a fridge so that is a savings there. But then there is tips and mugs to be paid with the upgrade also. Dh says just upgrade. I like to do all the math. I'm almost 90% sure we will upgrade just not sure what moderate. Leaning towards CBR the only one we haven't tried. The pool for the kids looks neat. But POFQ those queen beds look good also.

POP 9/17 to 9/26 with the qsdp free and photobook 2018.36
CBR 9/17 to 9/26 regular plan and the photobook 2762.18

You are getting the book. It isn't a option. So yes they are adding 100.00 almost to your reservation and then giving you FD. It is the way the package code is set up they cannot remove things. I don't mind paying for it since that is something we looked into last year. But I understand when you have to pay to upgrade dining add the book it isn't the best FD offer.

Sorry, but I would pay out almost $800.00 more for CBR over POP. I mean CBR is nice, but, in my opinion, it's not $800.00 better than POP, and you said you really didn't want the Basic plan anyway.
