Thank you for this info:worship:
sooooooooooooooooo if I have my vacation currently booked for December 16-23 and the FD comes out and is only good till the 20th or 21st, would I still be able to take advantage of the free dining for my entire trip?

Also, are some of the Disney resorts excluded from the FD promo, like POP may be excluded but the All Stars may have it?

No problem I thought it would be a good reference. But Free Dining cannot start before the start date of Free Dining but it can go through til the end of your trip so you would be able to get free dining from the 20th through the date you check out but unfortunately you would not be able to get it for the 16-19th if this was indeed the dates.

In your example, no, Pop wouldn't be excluded in favor of All Stars. But each resort where FD packages are offered has limited availability, so one resort may sell out more quickly than another.

Oops sorry I didn't see this. The only thing in the past that has been excluded at different times were DVC Properties and sometimes they exclude FamilySuites
but I believe now Family Suites are included but I dont think DVC is unless you get a magical upgrade like during free dining they sometimes overbook so they will upgrade you to a DVC property and sometimes they do it just to promote DVC. It's a nice upgrade a few years ago friends from DIS a feew recieved this type of upgrade.:thumbsup2 Other than that all resorts are included but this time around Value only recvd QSDP and Moderate and Deluxe resorts recieved Regular Free Dining So it will be interesting to see if they do offer and if they do will Values get reg Free Dining Or Quick service etc...??

If you are renting points from a DVC owner then no you can't apply the free dining discount. But, the WDW owned Villas are, generally included in free dining offers.

As for Disney Resorts, yes, there is a possibility that some resorts may not be included in a general public free dining offer. I know for certain in 2007 Wilderness Lodge did not have any free dining packages available for the announced fall dates that year. Any particular resort that has solid booking may not participate in a fd offer. Suites at any of the deluxe resorts have never been included. The All-Star Family suites have been eligiable for the free dining discount since 2008.

Yes, you would have free dining for your entire stay if your check-out date was past the fd end date. Free Dining generally has a 3 day minimum and a 14 day maximum booking.

As for value resorts being excluded, none of been excluded in the past. All-Star Movies usually books up first, then POP, followed by ASMu and ASSports rarely ever sells out. There have been a couple of instances where a deluxe resort was not available for a free dining discount.

ya'll are great for answering all these questions. Thank you all so much.

I hope I can ask one more question.

Since I have already booked my trip at POP, IF a FD code comes out that covers my dates, will I be able to just apply the FD code to an existing reservation? Even if the hotel is full, since I already have my reservations, would I be able to use the FD PIN?

Yes:thumbsup2 That said remember if you have a discount on your current room/package then you can only apply one discount. Good luck and hope you get free dining.

Well if Disney does come out with another FD I wonder if the email I have is an indication of the FD they will offer. My pin code offer that I have has Values and Moderate for quick service and Deluxe for the regular dining. We have stayed at the Values the last 3yrs and was thinking about staying at CSR this year to get the regular FD plan and not have to pay the extra to upgrade from QS and also to have queen size beds to stay in. But if they do the offer like my emailed pin code then we will have to stay Values again if we have to pay to upgrade the plan.

I know I'm in the minority but I would pefer it that way. We love the QSDP over the regualr plan that is why we stayed value last year. If the offer the QSDP at the moderates we could move up. We do a couple of TS meals but 10 days of adr's is to many for us.

We feel the same way, we dont do hoppers because we didnt use them the first 3 yrs we went so that is an extra $220. that you may have to dole out or have to go to the specific parks on the day you are dining there. We change our minds all the time about which park we are going to .... we have even been at the bus stop waiting and decided there...........:lmao:

We have decided to do QS instead of TS this year. I do not want to be rushed to make an appointment. An off topic question.........does anyone know when the MNSSHP dates come out?

Another one hoping for QSDP at moderates. We don't like being locked in to all of those ADR'S. We still eat a few dinners out, but in August, it's just too hot for us to eat so much food!!

You would only be able to use the free dining if there was availability for that discount at your resort when you call to change your reservation. Be warned it is NOT guaranteed. You may have to switch resorts to find availability.

I'm on the phone now with Disney. My CS said she HIGHLY recommended I book today so it would only take minutes tomorrow AM to add the free dining pin.

I"ve been told several times (Yes...I've called everyday~ lol) that I have the free dining pin coming. The lady today stressed to me several times...I HIGHLY suggest you book your rooms today with all the details and I HIGHLY suggest you call back tomorrow morning at 7am because when the pin is released for use it will go fast. I asked if it was available for my dates and she said we'll since you already know you have the pin because a previous cast member told you all I can say is I HIGHLY suggest you call tomorrow at 7am.

She was super nice and stressed the word HIGHLY alot ~ lol. So I'll be up tomorrow am calling back :)
