Free Dining 2008 Watch

Has anyone gotten reservations for the Beach Club or Yacht Club yet? Just curious since thats where our existing ressies are. I'm counting down to Thursday when I can hopefully just switch to free dining! :hourglass

Just a BIG thank you to everyone who loves Disney as much as I do :hippie: and thanks tremendously for this thread!

I was absolutely sick when we returned from disney last Sept to find the bounceback paperwork mixed into the mountain of papers we received at checkin? We even extended our stay and no CM mentioned bounceback for 2008?

I'm going prepared this year with 2009 calendar in hand!

My CM Sheila mentioned that it may be tonight before we get confirmation emails for ressies since the computer que is so busy!

Good luck everybody and if you're there early Sept, we'll see ya then!

Hi, updating this....just got confirmation in email, so que not so bad afterall...took about an hour?

Ok, I don't have a disney visa, so I need to wait until the 10th, but I have a few questions. I'm already booked, is it possible to be able to stick with our ressies and have them apply the code? Also, we're going 9/16 - 9/25. Do we get free dining our entire stay, or just until the 20th??
They applied it to my whole stay. Going the 20th - 27th. They just added to my existing res. It was a :yay: lot easier then I thought it would be. I didn't even have to give him a code. My CM was awesome. SO I am booked.

Got ADRs too
Chef Mickey
Crystal Palace
LTT
Ohanas
Le Cellier
Boma
Yak Yeti
Princess lunch at Norway

I had to compromise a little on the times but thats okay. At least I am eating at the restaurants I wanted.

:yay: :woohoo: :cool1:

I booked at the Wilderness Lodge so I know that the Deluxe resorts are included, I had ressies already and just added free dining to that.

Hot and humid!

Yep, that's why we added the Water Parks & More option to our tickets. We only went to Typhoon Lagoon one time last trip, but we loved it, and I'll bet we'll end up there midday at least a couple of times in September -- and it also includes admission to the PI clubs :thumbsup2

Things must be slowing down. My hold time was about six minutes and the entire call took less than 15. The CM couldn't have been nicer.

Booked POP for 9/2-9/9. Standard room. 7 days free dining.

For those of you who have to wait until Thursday, here's something I've never seen mentioned on these boards. I could have missed it, but just in case, I thought I'd mention it as a possible option. Maybe it won't be available again this year, but you might want to check it out.

Last year, I had no clue about the free dining promotion until some time in May. In checking into things, I found that it was also being offered through Southwest Vacations as a package. They had POP available for the days I wanted and Disney didn't, so I booked through them.

I got 6 nights at POP, two 7-day park hopper tickets, two round trip flights from Chicago to Orlando, and an Alamo rental car for the entire stay for $1560. Free dining was also included. I made the reservation on May 19th.

The one downside was that because flights were included, the entire amount was due at time of booking.

Good luck to everyone.

Why is is that you can still receive free dining the WHOLE TIME if your vacation goes PAST the ending date of free dining, but you can't get free dining if your vacation starts a few days BEFORE the start of free dining, but lasts beyond that start date?? Why do you get free food the whole vacation if you manage to start your vacation on the last day it's offered, yet you can't get it if you start your vacation a few days before it's offered, but continue it beyond its start date??

Not sure if this was answered for you yet, but I'd guess if you booked two separate reservations you could get Free Dining once the promo starts.

We were just informed by our TA that we got PORQ for August 26 to September 2nd!! All ADRS are made and we got our first choice! All the waiting is over! Now to the fun part!! Planning and looking forward to another magical vacation at disney world! The free dining is icing on the cake!!!

I am so bummed about the dates of the promotion. Hadn't there been speculation that it would run through the 26th? It couldn't be worse dates for me wit hthe kids starting school Aug 25 and then they have a 4 day weekend 27-1, but that early in the school year I can't pull them from school. I booked for labor day weekend, and thought we would take the kids out for one or 2 days, but it is still the first week of school! I don't know if hubby will let me.....I might just have to book for later and pay for dining...

Were going with another couple, who don't have a Visa card. I imagine they will be able to book and pay for their trip with my card and they will get the Free Dining? (maybe I should charge them interest pirate: )

Most of the speculation was that free dining for the general public would end on 9/20. There are those that went last year, who booked on Bounce Back, who were able to book through 9/27 (as were UK Guests), but historically the promotion for the general public has ended one week earlier than those who book from the UK or on Bounce Back.

Good luck making a decision that works for you and your family. :goodvibes

Luckily, our kids don't start until the Tues after Labor Day. Works out perfect for us this year. I'm not sure why they pushed back the first day of school. Usually, it has been the week before Labor Day. That's why we couldn't go for the free dining last year.

:)
Goodmorning everyone...sorry about the code confusion, I didnt realize it was a TA's code only. At least the rest of the information was correct. I was just trying to help.

Anyway...I need some reassurance if you please. I am currently booked for POP from 9/20 -9/27 and FD was sold out. They offered me ASMovies. I opted to stay with POP, it is really the resort I wanted to stay at with my DD2.5. My AAA agent said she would call back a couple of times a day to see if she can get me FD in case someone cancels.

Did I make a mistake? Should I have gone with ASMovies. My concern with Movies is the sharing of busses. And I thought POP had more amenities that my DD would live (playground, kids pool, pop jets). I dont know if I am being silly or not and should have just taken AS Movies. This is driving me nuts.

I have seen others post that they have gotten FD at Pop directly through Disney since you made your post. Do you have the option of cancelling your AAA and calling Disney to book? I know generally speaking there are only a certain number of rooms allotted to the Travel agents as well, so maybe AAA has exhausted their limit but not Disney. Just a thought

Hi Ive been trying to read all the posts but im still unclear
Booked thr AAA for 9/8-9/18 not a Visa member hve to wait for the 10th. But Do I have to cancel with AAA or can they add the dining on? Cant get in touch with AAA today?
