Is anyone planning a meal at a restaurant that was on your "wish list" if you get free dining?

Can anyone tell me a good first restaurant to go to for a person going the first time
Do you guys get the travel insurance when you book a trip in August or september since it is hurrican season?
I think we are trying all new places (for us) this time:
Chefs de France - Dinner
Le Cellier - Lunch
1900 Park Fare - Breakfast
50s PT - Dinner
Rose & Crown - Dinner
Tusker House - Lunch
Crystal Palace - Breakfast
Grand Floridian Tea - Late Lunch/Early Dinner
Food & Wine festival - Lunch on our last day
Last May we had ADR's for R&C and CP, but DH has sick and we missed them.He also missed the tea, so I ended up going to that alone, but looking forward to having it with him this year (even though it's not on the DDP). Even without free dining...I might keep all our ADR's if we get a good enough discount on our room. We already reserved and paid our deposit, and our TA said she'd try to get us the best deal she can. So, fingers crossed and hoping for some Disney magic!

Well my family will be eating at the new Japanese restaurant....not sure how it will go over food-wise but watching them cook it will be fun. I dont know that I would take the chance of eating there if it was out of pocket. We will also try the new Tusker House Donald Breakfast....one of my boys LOVE donald. I am also hoping to get over to Ft. Wilderness for Trails End.....
New to my family (not me because I go almost every year "alone" with a girlfriend) will be the Yak & Yeti, Mama Melrose, Crystal Palace for dinner and Boma.
Some of the less expensive of these will be OOP breakfasts and lunches though......which I probably would not do if our dinners were not taken care of.
Oh and we are going back to LeCellier!!! Yeah - my kids still talk about LeCellier!!!!
I hope that you are able to get the FD promo and thoroughly enjoy all your meals!
are you going alone or with family?
Does anyone know if you book through Disney Visa and have to cancel, if you get your entire $200 deposit back if you cancel more than 45 days before your reservation?
Only asking because because the job may restrict August and September vacations in a month or so.
I know that sucks, but what are you going to do? I need to work to pay for the Disney trips, among other things.
Biergarten is fun they have an oompa band, we're going back to that one again.
Ragland Road is good too, the Bread Pudding is a disney must! My husband is still talking about it and we didn't even know we liked bread pudding! they have an Irish dancer to in the evenings.
Haven't been to LeCellier didn't get in last year and couldn't get in this year, but we're going to try Tuto Italiano this year!
Narcoosee's is fabulous it uses two DD credits though but it is worth it and you can see the fireworks from the deck.
Boma was good, it's a buffet, but very good, we're trying something else this year though
Good luck picking restaurants, we didn't have anything bad last year and it was our first year.
Is Biergarten really good? I have been contemplating getting an ADR for it. I found out recently that I am of German decent and would like to try the food, but I will admit I am finicky about meat. I mainly eat poulty and seafood. DH likes most any type of meat but is picky about how it is fixed. I guess we can always find something.![]()
I know we have that post from 4-3-08
But did anyone notice that the Dis has this from their front page???
FREE DINING!!
So is it not a 'rumor' any more???![]()
