Free Dining 2008 Watch

I have a quick, maybe duh question. Can I book a package for say 5 nights, purchase a 1 day Magic My Way ticket and still take advantage of free dining for the length of my stay? Thanks for all the wonderful advice I've received on these boards!

in a word... yes

Yes. Thats what I did. We are AP. We had to buy at least a 1 day MYW ticket. We will use that at a later date or as a credit to a futue AP.

Yes you can, you just need to have a package(rooom/at least 1 day park pass) to get the DDP.

Last year we booked free dining online but not until late May. Anyone know from the past when the Disney website allows free dining booking? At 7am EST on the day its open to the public by phone?

Thanks for the reassurance guys!! I actually am hoping to just call and adjust my reservation but if they've sold out of rooms available with free dining, I'd have to switch to a different value. It's not the end of the world at all. So, do you all have any recommendations for which value you like the best? I have a 9 year old DS and a 5 year old DD.

When we finally get details, someone needs to be in charge of remembering when and how we got them. It will make things much easier next year. :laughing:

There are threads for this question under Resorts (and lots of good info). Have fun!

I was looking at intercot's announcements from last year and free dinning was announced on Monday the 9!! So hopefully it will come out officially tomorrow!!!!!!!

:goodvibes popcorn:: :goodvibes

Could anyone tell me if you have to put the $200.00 deposit down immediately or can they hold the reservation for a week or so and then give the deposit. Thanks!

I understand that the minimum required nights for free dining are 3, but does anyone know what the maximum amount of nights are, right now I have nine nights reserved with the DDP and will switch to the free dining plan when it becomes available

It should be 14. That's the maximum for any package, so you should be fine. Heck--you could add a few days with all the money you'll save on food!

If all the speculation is true, there is one item that seems to be a bit unfair. I am arriving on 8/23 for 10 nights. I will then have to have a seperate reservation for the first night in order to qualify for the free DDP. However, if someone checks in on the last day of free DDP they get if for the length of their stay.

I'm hearing you are not able to do this anymore, that free dining will end on the last day of the offer, but we will know for sure once dissers start posting what they booked. And you are actually quite lucky to be able to get 9days of free dining, it's absolutely worth having to check-in again the next day, just do it early before the crowds start rolling in. Linda :)

I agree that it is worth it, but they should allow you option of paying for dining for the days before free dining begins. It is a hassle to have to make two reservations. My rental car is all tied into my package so I do not know if I will need to have to sepereate reservations for that now.

You way to do your car rental on your own it might make it easier and less expensive. Mousesavers has some great discount codes and coupons, we like Nationals emerald aisle, it's free to join using mousesavers code and you bypass the airport line and check out at the booth after picking out your car. Sorry I'm off topic here, just wanted to give you that option. Linda :)
