Free Dining 2008 Watch

Welcome Disneygirl@heart :wave2: :welcome:. I see you've made your 1st post on the waiting for free dining board. Waiting for disney FD is always a good time to get to know fellow DISers. Wait until we are all in the holding patterning waiting to book! I wish I could find last year's posts. Everyone was posting which song they were listening to and after we got our ressies, we all celebrated. Some of the holding times were crazy (over an hour). Some of us got lucky.

Here's the thread with last year's wait times, songs, etc.

Aloha Airlines went out of business this past week also. That's THREE AIRLINES down that I have heard of!!!

Aloha, ATA & SkyBus

TAs are not able to book free dining for their clients today (unless they plan to honor it and pay out of their own pocket/commissions if it falls through)... and they certainly cannot guarantee a specific resort on specific dates because there is no way of being certain that that resort/dates are available...

disney's salespeople (the people that contact the TAs) are still not releasing *all* the details re: the promo which is happening next week, but most are strongly "speculating/hinting" that it is FD...

edited to add: free dining is not an option yet on the TA booking website...

What airline went out of business? We are planning on booking either SW or JetBlue soon. SW's ressies for up till Oct 22 open up on April 17th.
Four airlines in four days.

Aloha, ATA, Champion, and Skybus.

It was also on my local news SW to raise prices sometime this month!

Thanks for the clarification gigi13 :thumbsup2

We're booked at POR for Set 13-22 and planned to fly Southwest. I was going to book the flights at the end of April...don't really have the $$ until then! Now, not only am I waiting to see if I need to change my dates to Sept 11-20 if FD won't be allowed after the 20th; NOW I'm waiting to see the Southwest price increase. Oh AND...apparently there's speculation the Canadian Dollar will fall so that means my trip will cost more.

AARGGGG!!

According to past years FD must be added to a package with at least a one day MYW ticket.

Even if you had the money now, you couldn't book Southwest anyway. I've been watching it for weeks and you can't book that far out yet. This is posted on their site:

"CURRENT OFFERS - Now accepting reservations through August 22, 2008. On April 18, we plan to open the schedule for purchase through October 30, 2008. This date is subject to change! Please check back frequently."

We get our travel section on Saturdays (it's Sunday's paper but some parts are delivered on Sat.) and there is no mention of it - this is the Phil. Inquirer so it's not a small town paper.

Wow guess that was just another poor runor :confused3
Its almost Monday :)
We should all know then !

this may have already been ansewered, but do you have to book a minimum night stay? i only need 2 nights but fear they will require 3 for the free dining promotion.

Also, does everone in the whole party have to buy at least a one day ticket? we all have annual passes, so if we only have to buy one, i dont mind, but if i have to buy 4 one day tickets, thats a little much.
