Free Dining 2008 Watch

You can make ADR's (CRT included) 180 days from your check in date. I'm checking in on Aug 31 and was able to make my ADR's on 3/3, so I'd go ahead and call now. Especially if you want CRT.

I too am checking in on the 31st!!!

If free dining is offered on Aug23rd, but I want to check in prior, if I book a room only for the Aug22nd, will Disney give me the park tickets early?

OR, would they book me one 9 night trip, with only 8 of them for free dining?

It would be two separate reservations. One for one night and another for eight nights. You can't get tickets and benefits tied to the second ressie until you check in the second time on day two. You wouldn't have admission media tied to the first ressie. So you couldn't go to a park until you check in again on day two.

We are going Aug30-Sep6 and I made all of our ADRs on 3/1 the day I booked the trip. Also, in response to the individual on the dates of free dining, I'm pretty sure that historically it starts around Aug 10 and runs through the end of Sept. You can check those dates out for certain on Mousesavers.com. They have a chart with info on discounts that go back several years.

Perhaps it starts that early for UK residents (and they do have a much broader date range) but it is cut a lot for us, for instance it started August 26th in 2007 and those of us bouncing back with free dining for 2008 had to book between August 30 - September 27! It has narrowed for the US every year since it started.

It didn't start that early in 2007 as we were there on the 15th and the free dining didn't start until Aug. 24 or 26. This was for the general public. Bounceback folks got it earlier. This year the rumored start date is August 23, so waiting to see if that is correct.

This is one of the websites is saying for dates for 2008

April 7, 2008 - Free dining to be released to Disney VISA cardholders
April 10, 2008 - Free dining to be released to the general public
August 30 - September 27, 2008 - Travel dates for free dining

whoa, can you direct us in some small way to that website? Please so i can stop checking these boards every ten minutes lol!!!

I am pretty sure you will get the free dine!!That cm I spoke to, coupled with the "rumors" I have heard. Stating it will be offered to Disney Visa card holders April 7th, then the public April 10th. I am pretty sure you, and anyone else who wants it will get it!! :yay: :yay:

Hi Faindrops,

Thanks for the encouragement about them offering the Free Dining. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Do you have any clues as to whether the value resorts will be part of the offer. We have stayed at POR the past 2 years, but would like to stay at ASM this year.

Thanks! pixiedust:

Thanks for more info. I knew my dates for this August (10-20) would not be included as I was told last week, but the TA didn't want to list his dates, which was OK. I just asked what my chances were and he said, not good. Guess we'll know soon many of the answers to our questions: What are the official dates? Will the value resorts be included? will folks be able to carry the free ddp past the last day? will there be a 3 night mininum? what size ticket will have to be purchases? will the resorts I'm holding a reservation at be included? popcorn:: and the wait goes on!!:surfweb:

Actually, it's only 180 days from check in for the first 10 days of your vacation. If your vacation is more than 10 days, you would have to call back on a later date to get the rest of the vacation.

For example, we have a 15 day vacation scheduled...I had to call 190 days before our last day to get ADRs for that last day.

True. But the poster asking the question stated she had a six night stay at Yacht Club in August.

I'm planning a trip in September (21st to 27th). I am also trying to "rent" points to stay at BWV. If I do get the points and stay at BWV, am I eligible to receive the free ddp?
This is all sooooo new to me!!

No...you only get free DDP if you reserve the room thru Disney and pay rack rate. The package usually requires tickets to be included as well.

I kinda figured that. What do you think the better choice would be: stay at BWV or receive free ddp and stay at moderate resort? I would be purchasing tickets thru Disney either way.

You would have to calculate that yourself, based on room and ticket prices plus what you would potentially spend on food.

It's different for everyone.
