Free Dining 2008 Watch

I stayed at Fort Wilderness Cabins last Sep 07. As I checked in, I was told that during the month of September 07 a free dining promotion would be offered to guest staying at the resorts and that I should find a flyer in my cabin. I did indeed find the flyer and it stated that I had until checkout to make my reservations for the following Sep 08 to use it. Unfortunately, we didnt know when we would be back and skipped that promo. I wish now that I had made that reservation! UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trust me if there is a flyer offering the free dining for 09' when I go this Sept. I will book even though I might not go. I hate this waiting and wondering....:confused3

Woo Hoo! I'm on the watch board too. C'mon August free dining. popcorn:: luv_my_grlz, if you're staying on site, you'll be able to get free dining too - if they offer it, and if you contact your TA or whoever you booked through and tell them that you want the free dining on your package. (Cuz you read about it on the fantastic DIS boards) And make sure you notify them as soon as you hear about the free dining, I believe in the past, Disney only had the offer open for a limited time. Anyone know differently?

HI! Tir na nOg what dates are you hoping for in August? I'm really hoping for 26th thru the 31st! I know they have had it for these dates before so I'm really hoping !!! Because I dont know if I can go in Sept do to DD going into High School! :goodvibes

ME TOO! All I had to do was reserve with $200 and set a date for Sep 08!!! I feel so stupid!! I was just wrapped up in the week really. I was told by Disney that I was staying during their free dining bounceback period. To give you an idea; this was my first time to WDW, I stayed during Sep 24-29 and paid full price (non-free dining). I did not have access to the flyer until I checked into resort. I do know that the restaurants were FULL and you have to get your reservation in 180 days in advance no doubt. I was a first timer and made my reservation a month and half in advance. Although I had to repeat call, I still got into CRT Dinner and Le Cellier!

Okay here is the letter that accompanied the free dining promo flyer I received in my cabin last Sep 24, 2007...............Dear Guest, Welcome to Disneys Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground! We wanted to thank you for choosing to stay with us. We hope youre ready to have a great time! To help kick off that excitement, we'd like to offer you an amazing deal during an amazing time of year. Come back and stay with us again next Septmeber and get a very special offer that includes the DISNEY DINING PLAN!! For more details, just review that attached flyer or call ****. Please keep in mind, in order to take advantage of this special dining offer, you must book and make a deposit before checkout (on or before Oct 12, 2007) Have a magical stay! Sincerely, The Cast of Disneys Fort Widerness Resort and Campground..................I believe this promotion was on our cabin's Disney TV station during our stay as well so I was assuming it applied to all resorts.

To add to this yes. I was @ POP last year. But, I never received a flyer, or notification. I did not even notice it on tv. However, my mother had received, a flyer in her room 2 days before we were to leave. I had to put down a 200 deposit to book. Before I left, and that was it. I am pretty sure. It will be offered to the public! That cm, sounded very convinced!! Good luck everyone!

I sure hope you are right.... I could certainly use the extra $570 it will save us!!!

Btw Melissa.... I looked for you several times on the Dis hoping to at least say HI!!... now I know why I never saw ya till now. Mom felt guilty that we went last year without my brother, so we decided to go again with him. Plus my friend talked her husband into taking a trip with their family... it will be a first time trip for them and they have no idea whats in store for them!!! I wont even tell her about free dining until we know for sure... no sense getting her hopes up about something she doesn't even know about...lol Too bad our dates don't coincide this year...

on touring plans dot com in the recent news section, they are saying that free dining should be announced on april 10! no other details - yet!

AWESOME!!!!! I had to check it out myself!!!! They were the first (at least that I am aware of) to make that announcement last year and they were spot on about it! Gotta start my happy dance!:cool1: :woohoo: :dance3:

Here's something interesting I called disney on March 6th to change a few things and asked the cm if I had a pin code attached to my name and she told me no mam I'm sorry you do not! So I said ok disappointed of course and I came home and checked my email as usual and there it was an email from disney with a 30% off code! So there is hope! And if disney doesn't offer free dining I'm sure they will do some kind of promo and you'll just have to work the numbers if you already have a discount to see which is better .

Yahoo!!!! excellent!! I've hoped by calling I would "trigger something" but no luck yet... we do have free dining, so we are lucky... but we are hoping for it for others..

YES!!!! i beleive this is the site that broke the news first last year to...
can anyone confirm that.... of course it is all speculation!!!!

I am going for 7 days September and have the Free DDP bounceback. I am thinking about adding 2 or 3 days (room only) to my ressie. If I do that and they do not open free dining again could I streach my credits beyon the first 7 days ? Because some days you just dont feel like a sit down meal or it intefers with plans.

But I hope they offer the free dining again so it wont matter how long I get to stay.

We are staying for 17 nights and have 14 of free dining. We were told our dining credits expire on mignight of the night our free dining reservation ends. Our park passes expire 14 days after first date of use.

Great, so the cm was correct!! I am so happy for you all! I know you will all have a blast!

I am now getting excited about the trip a bit. But, nowhere like i was last year. But, I should be. Because my dh is coming, and is being positive about the prospect of the trip! I should get my act together. Almost time for me to call for my ressies. Where are you all going to eat this year??
Can you believe free dining again? Yeahhh!! You are going around your birthday again. This is cool. Hubby, and I are going to celebrate our 15 year anniversary. Taking the 2 little ones, and of course my mother, and father will be going too. :goodvibes

!7 nights how very cool!!
Pinkerbell- on a side note. I wish Diney offered tickets between 10 days, and annual passes. My little ones, are to young to really partake in the waterparks, so I have the 10 day hopper pass. They should make 11-14 day tickets also.

To the poster above, add the nights. I did. I went from 9 to 13 nights! I hope you get what you want!

If the free dining is offered again this year, does anyone have any idea what the dates might be?
Thanks:surfweb:

I believe the bounceback offer was for check in August 30th-Sept 27th.
But, I am not sure what the dates will be offered to the public. I am thinking the same, but who knows.

rereading your post I am not sure if you realize you can extend your stay if you already have the free dining pkg booked depending on if you are going outside of the free dining promo and there is availabilty at the resort. (14 night max)

Yes, I too wish they offered a longer ticket between the two extremes. They do for UK guests.. I have posted on this before. UK guests also get a longer Free DDP stay...

As for the waterparks.. I have to say that last yr when I went with a group of families to our local 6flags, I was mortified when they said "let's go to the Waterpark" :scared1: my kids can't swim and I thought they would not like it. WRONG! they loved it, we went back many times and I immediately added the waterpark and more option.. my kids were then 20 months and 3yrs... here are some photos in this thread... mind you they do NOT know how to swim... but we felt very safe and they have great areas where there is water but it is not deep or even "pool" so they can splash around and get wet.... it really helps take up those non park days... they did NOT want to leave...

I am so glad you hubby is going with ya this time!!!!
We decided to arrive on my birthday instead of having it at the end of the trip... that way most of our trip will fall on or after Labor Day.
We are eating at...
Chef Mickey's
Sci-Fi Drive-in
Crystal Palace
Coral Reef (got the diver and personal menu set up for a surprise for my friends)
Kona Cafe

Umm, what is this? It sounds intriging?!?!?:confused3

I am SO happy! This is my first trip ever and with the free DDP we will be able to go to Discovery Cove, we had to force ourselves to choose one or the other, and now we get both!!!:cool1:

I have already set my cell to remind me the day before so I do not forget to call. BTW - does it start right at midnight on April 10th (I mean if it is true of course)? Should I call at 12:01??

My dates are Sept 1 to 12 so based on my research we should be OK.

YEAH!!!
