currently i have 2 rooms booked for 5 people(all are adult meals) trying to get the most for our money, and am booked under the free dining promotion for Dec 8-15. room #1 has myself and husband and we have 5 nights that we are paying(plus the upgrade to ddp) for and 2 nights that are comp nights(no dining plan for those 2 nights). room #2 has my daughter and her BF(21 yrs) and my younger daughter (16) with full 7 nights paid by me w/free dining and upgraded to DDP.
now here is the main questions and i hate to call until i have some idea of what we should do. would it be more cost effective to put my husband in rm2 on the reservation and only myself in rm1? upgrade to Deluxe dining on rm1? not sure of the increase on there being 3 adults in the room. can the rm1 w/deluxe share meal credits with rm2 people? i feel a bit lost when it comes to the dining plans and i long for the day when i only need 1 room. I've tried to run the numbers, but most are booked solid so i can't seem to get an accurate cost comparison of my current with what i was thinking of doing. any help or input/advise is welcome. TIA

Why not leave your DH in the room with you and upgrade that room to the DxDDP for the 5 nights, and leave the other room on the QSDP? The cost to upgrade the two of you would be just under $640 and you would then have 30 TS meals to use on the 5 of you for those 5 nights. That would be enough for all of you to have a TS meal all 5 days plus your check-in OR check-out day of those 5 nights. You would all get app, entrée, dessert and drink, so you might be able to stretch that a little further during those 5 days if you can share some meals. You would still have 42 QS meals to use as well.

Also, I see you are staying at Pop. Remember that there will be an additional charge of $25/night for each adult over 2. So, if you switch your hubby over, that will cost you an additional $25/night. And his MB won't be programmed to open your room.

I would also caution that if you have a different dining plan and you split for dinner, you will need to swap magic bands with someone in the other room so that each room can access the credits. That will only work if the split plans do not involve a park for the evening as each person will need their own MB for that.

Note - It's an extra $15 per adult per night at Pop. Sorry for the confusion!

I thought it was $15 per person at pop, $25 at moderate. Did the prices go up?

thanks for the input...now even more to think about. i didn't realize about the appetizer on the deluxe. hmmm maybe i will upgrade rm#1 to the deluxe for sure. we tend to eat together so the bands shouldn't be an issue, now to get the kids together over this weekend and figure things out with them and the meals i have scheduled so far...the planning is key, i can budge the $ a bit, now to focus on the airlines & rental car vs. driving(method to our planning-i mention driving and all of a sudden they all want to buy their own airline tickets).
