That was last year Friend and a first since 2005.

Ok, first of all...relax and try to be a little more friendly. There isn't a rule on this thread that only allows those specifically going during the typical August-October time frame to post here with their speculations.

Regardless of it being the first year it happened and the fact it was last year, it *could* happen again...I don't think it's out of the question for those people to post here. Sheesh.

Glad you made you point. Sheesh:sad2:

Wow. Waiting sure has made some people grumpy. :rotfl:

heatherbabydoll1, hoping for the best for you! :thumbsup2

Wasnt there a "first year" for the Aug - Oct free dining?? ;)

What is the chance that Disney only offers FD to people staying in deluxe and QSD to everyone staying at Mods and Values? That is the current promo in the UK (along with a discount in rooms).:confused3

Just wondering.......:eek::eek::rolleyes1:rolleyes1

That's right! I completely forgot about that. :lmao: And a first year (last year) that the promo was released in March.

Just please...dear God PLEASE don't let us go back to the actual first year when it wasn't released until June. :scared1:

UK offer isn't for values...they also get a 14day pass deal and they are allowed to get up to 47%off rooms & FD...don't see that happening over on this side of the "pond".

Regarding UK pricing the offers are attractive but as always with any business they exist only because they increase profit for Disney. Due to the cost of airfare Brits frequently stay for as long as three weeks . However the sudden plunge in the value of the pound against the dollar means that numbers might go down significantly without some sort of incentive.

The 42% discount is off Saratoga Springs and Old Key West which I believe fill less rapidly than some other places.

I think the pass offer is 14 day ultimate for the price of 7 day premium where the price diff is often not huge anyway.

UK visitors have to buy at least a five day ticket to receive free dining.

For what it's worth this Brit is anxiously waiting with her US cousins :lovestruc in the hope of free dining ( either full or QSDP) at POP :thumbsup2

UGGH! I hope not! This is my 1st time staying at a mod and I'm pulling for free reg dining. We wouldn't do QSDP we'd have to upgrade and 2 of my 3 kids are "adults" so not a great deal for us. COME ON DISNEY, GIVE US FD!!!!

Not that I expect to have the QSDP deal with a room discount, but I don't understand why people who want basic DDP see this as a problem. The discount on the room would cover the cost of upgrading the QSDP to DDP. Even if you have 4 disney adults in your room, since we're talking about value season that would $40/day to upgrade to DDP but the room discount if we assume say 25% discount on a moderate with the rack rate being $185 during the week and and $200 on weekends that means a $46.25/day (plus tax) discount during the week and $50/day (plus tax) discount on weekends. That's actually better. Don't rule it out as a bad thing.

Again, I don't actually see it happening but I'm just pointing out to those that are scared it might that there's no reason to fear it.

I agree with above poster, who cares if its FD or a Room Discount, take the discount and use the saved money and buy your dining package. Its the same thing, often times better.
No need to worry at all......:goodvibes

But I don't see Disney giving us free QSDP AND a room discount, just free QSDP or maybe either or. If the scenario you mentioned was the "new deal" it would actually be a GOOD thing. I've just never seen room discounts PLUS any kind of free dining offered in the US so I'd be surprised if that was it.

We are all making our selves CRAZY on here. :surfweb: I think I've oficially gone off the deep end with this promo or no promo taking over my life!!

I ABSOLUTELY AGREE that it's highly unlikely that we'll get QSDP and a room discount. I was just commenting to those who were worrying about that as a possibility. I'd love it but I certainly won't hold my breath on EVER seeing it for people on this side of the pond. Those lucky Brits and their good deals.

Yup, we're making ourselves crazy. But at least we're having fun doing it. :dance3: OK, maybe I'm just getting loopy since I'm going on 3 hours sleep due to vacuuming water out of my basement most of the night.

luvdisney00, I just wanted to add- Usually if you are staying in a moderate the % discount is a better deal than just getting 'free' dining and paying rack rate for the room. At values the % discount is not as great :)

you missed the point. Usually if you are staying in a moderate the % discount is a better deal than just getting 'free' dining and paying rack rate for the room. At values the % discount is not as great :)

That actually depends on your party. My family as of this year will be 4 Disney Adults. Even at the deluxes I priced out for my vacation, free dining comes out to be a better deal than a 40% room discount unless I want to go club level and eat mostly food from the CL lounge (which is something I would consider as well since it fits our touring style).

Well, in my case not necessarily. I have 2 kids who now classify as adults, so for me, Free Dining is cheaper than the 30% Discount that was offered at the Mods. or the 20% that was offered at the Values. We don't do deluxe because we get everything we need at the Mods, especially CBR, so the extra cost of a Deluxe is wasted $$. So, no, for me FD is a much better deal.
