Free DDP with Deluxe resort??

My TA just notified that Disney rarely gives discounts for deluxe rooms. Has anyone received a discount package with a deluxe room. We have to stay in a deluxe at AKL because we are a party of 5. My kids are really looking forward to staying there and seeing the animals

I would advise you to look for another TA. If your TA is saying this then they are obviously not too familiar with Disney and frequent discounts that are offered. There are several discounts for deluxe rooms including AAA, AP, and other promos such as free dining or the 40% off one that was recently out (no longer available.)

I have stayed in deluxes with discounts many times (though usually room-only rates). Though I got a package in December of 2003 for YC (Dec 20-26) and got the room at roughly $220 w/tax a night when you pulled out the ticket prices. Not bad for Christmas time.

There is currently a discount code BUC for room only discount... that includes deluxes according to people who have called and booked with that code. This code is for April May travel.

The OP is talking about the deluxe room at AKL not deluxe hotels in general

Your TA is correct that the deluxe ROOMS at AKL are very rarely discounted. I have seen them but not often at all. For 5 people you may also give your TA an alternate deluxe hotel that will sleep 5 in a regular room just in case the room you currently have isn't available with a discount. All other deluxe hotels, except Wilderness Lodge and AKL, will sleep 5 in a standard room
