Free child ticket w/ purchase- is it a 2 day ticket?

I'm sure a family member, neighbor co-worker..you'll find someone!

No - I'm saying - I paid $335 for 4 tickets - I thought the free one was for ages 3-9 and my son is 12, so I didn't order 2 child tickets and two adults. I ordered 3 adult, 1 child (free). I only need 4 tickets and won't make it back to Florida this year.

According to other posts I've read these tickets don't expire in Dec-06 as the website states so you should be able to use the tickets another time even if it's after Dec. Phamton should be able to confirm this.

Jeanne - You're right - there is no expiration date on them.

Another question - If I happen to find someone else who can use them, if I decide not to keep them for another trip - they should be able to use them with no problem? Are these tickets linked to my name/address because I purchased them online?

If the ticket doesn't scan properly at the gate, they will be sent to guest services. When Guest Services scans the tickets, they can see who purchased them. That can be a problem unless you are travelling with them. They can ask for ID and often do.

If they do scan properly at the gate there will be no problem but just as sometimes at Disney my AP doesn't scan, it also happens periodically at the gates at Universal.

You all just answered a question for me tonight. I bought a couple 5 day tickets off a guy who is selling them and I was trying to figure out how he was able to sell them for less than direct. He is buying them and getting the child tickets for free, then reselling them online as they are ALL adult tickets. So he is getting them for half price. You buy 2 for 99.00 and get 2 free. NOTE it says on line that they must be used by April but the tickets DO NOT have a expiration date printed on them. Do they say the expiration date on the ticket?
thats a pretty good racket. If did not expire you can get a bargin.

That's what I tried to explain to you on this thread:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=989343

I read also on line that they expire in April/06.

I would like to purchase some to use 12/06.
Can someone confirm that these tickets 2 adult 2 day tix (plus 3 days free) plus free kids tix will still be good to use 12/06.
I would hate to pay for them and then find out later that they are not good for 12/06 use.

Thank you
Suzy

They will still be good in Dec. 2006. They changed the date online to Dec. 31, 2006.

Had i known that the child ticket was a adult ticket I would have bought direct no question. That is a huge insider tip. I did good on the ticket price but it is alway better to buy direct, I dont remember reading that in your answer. Would be a good opportunity to buy for the future if they dont expire.
PS Ticketmania ROCKS they sent my tons of books with coupons and my discount tickets just as ordered. I am set for about 3 trips to Disney World...............I hate the cold up here.

Phanton how do u know about the expirations and so much insider info? I too would hate to chance it but they do not have a exp dates on the back so I assume they would not expire, you could claim that anyways.

Just an FYI with these tickets, I called the online ticket number and asked the girl if I could use these tickets next year (since there is no visible expiration date), if our plans for July change.

I read her the last 6 numbers on the back of the tickets, and she said, as of right now, the expiration is Dec 31 06.

She said if my plans changed that I could call back and that they might be able to extend or exchange the tickets for me.

So, I won't be buying extras of these for next year to save some money, because I don't want to take a chance.

I have no idea why she asked for the last 6 numbers on your ticket. I thought that you have to have the whole barcode number.

Phantom,

Under the barcode there are 19 numbers then a space and 6 more.

She expressly asked for those 6 numbers (which are the same on all of my tickets).

The 19 numbers are all the same except for the last 2, which run in sequence.

Perhaps those 6 numbers designate something with an expiration period?

I would love it if they didn't really expire, because I would buy another 4 tickets (2 with the buy one get one) and use them on a future trip next year. But I don't want to take the chance.

Perhaps someone else can call and find out something more.

I posted this on another thread but will use it here as I don't think any ticket, no matter how good a deal it is, is worth worrying about. Play it safe to save yourself needless worrying.

Here is my story:
"I understand people worrying about these tickets. I remember a few years ago purchasing the "Fun in the Sun" tickets for Disney. They are marketed to UK visitors. I panicked when everyone said I wouldn't be able to use them. I even called Disney and they said they were only for UK visitors and I would have to show a UK passport. I had purchased them from Ticket Mania. TicketMania assured me that they were good. TicketMania also told me that most "Fun in the Sun" tickets were only for the UK visitors but that Disney had released some that could be used by anyone. A kind castmember from Disney assured me that I would have no problem using them. I sweated it out waiting for my trip just knowing I had thrown my money away on tickets I couldn't use. I nervously went to Epcot to redeem them and had absolutely no problem at all."

So I do understand. If someone is worried, about these Bonus tickets, then just don't purchase them. It's not worth losing sleep over. I was worried for months about my ticket purchase of the "Fun in the Sun" tickets and I wouldn't want anyone else to go through that. It's just not worth it for the money I saved.

Geroge Costanza I presume. Don't you ever give up? If I'm ever banned here, that would be the last you would see of me but hey, whatever floats your boat.

Are we POSITIVE that these "free/bonus" child tickets, displaying "adult ticket" on their faces, don't have some code on them that will alert the machine at the entrance that is actually a child's ticket?

Positive. There is no child's ticket and no adult tickets on bonus tickets. They are both the same. If the ticket was taken to guest services they can see it is purchased as the buy one get one free deal.

Also, I take it that if I bought some tickets online and gave them to someone as a gift, there is a chance the recepients could get turned away at the gate because the tickets weren't purchased in their name?

It is possible. If investigation determines that you pruchased them from someone, they can confiscate the tickets. Happens all the time.

I want to thank you for all your info you provide us, god knows after you work with customers all day long and come online and deal with more of us. I hope US appreciates what you do for them.

There was a gliche with Universal's computer so the tickets finally arrived and as I thought they are all the same. There is no difference between child and adult.

Just read the replies above and I called Universal when our first tickets arrived and they verified they have no expiration until you use them. We just ordered more to bring our friends and we received the same 5-Day 2-Park BONUS PASSES again.

i wouldn't sweat it..........i can see NO problems with these tickets we have been rehashing on the threads.

really and truly.

universal will stand by its guests. period. end of discussion.
they will not insult someone over a minor issue.

i know many are very concerned about the expiration dates on the bonus pass. there are quite a few of us that post on here and other threads that are frequent guests to universal. we have seen a lot and heard a lot and have been through some of the experiences you are questioning.

i stay on site at the hotels. i have received comp tickets from the manager of one hotel due to issues........ i held on to those tickets for 5 years before i used one.
i used it last year and it was valid.

if you have a problem with any ticket or pass at the gate, please go to guest relations at the park. if there is a problem with the ticket, they can run it past their supervisor and work it out with you.
universal is not in the business to turn away customers.........they will work with you.

its hard to trust someone that posts on the threads without knowing them.
i have no reason to mislead any of you. i share with you my experiences in the park in order to help you.

the first time i went to universal i was over whelmed. i didn't know about the dis at that time. i just hope you can find what 411 you need on the threads to make your trip the best one ever

I honestly love helping as I want everyone to have the best possible vacation they can have. I often feel badly about answering so many threads as there are so many people here who are also willing to help and have some great knowledge. I don't want them to feel that they can't jump in. I have knowledge in some areas but am lacking in other areas especially about the hotels, Citywalk, and many restaurants. What's so great about this board is the amount of collective knowledge we have here. Your experience may be different than mine and it's all good. We can all fill in the gaps.
