Free Britney movement error regarding the spelling of her name

So my name is Brittany and I can’t tell you how many people ask how I spell it unless I fill out a form ,it is a name that can be spelled so many ways as a matter of fact up till 1999 when Britney Spears got out of control by the way not trying to judge Brittany was in the top 10 so when I meet someone with my name they are either a 80s or 90s kid

Many names have multiple spellings. Most people asking how to spell a name truly want to spell it correctly.

Several families I know are naming children with not common names now. People will ask how to spell the name so they can learn.

It's on the person printing 10,000 t shirts to be sure they spell any word correctly.

For the record, my default spelling of that name would be Brittany, pronounces Brit-knee.

I'm sure she does, based upon what she was called when she grew up.

However, isn't the origin of the name Brittany from the region in France, in which case, we are all pronouncing it incorrectly?

I do Pronounce my name correctly only in 5th grade it was a problem someone wanted to Argue that my name was spelled differently then it is, showed him the class roster and to say he did not like that his mom was wrong but most professionals will use the 2ed one vs first

Always double check not only the spelling but that you are using the right word.


I not only get my name misspelled (Krista most often) but called the wrong name all the time - Christina, Christine, and all the other versions of "Chris" names)

I did Pronunciation A as a toddler but for some reason and I don’t know when I did pronunciation B and not even my parents never corrected it
