Hey there! We're back!:sad1: While Fay did cause the week to be mostly wet, you wouldn't have even known what was going on if you didn't catch the news. The temperature was around 75 - 78 all but one day and not much wind - SWEET!Most of the rides were walk-on or 10 minutes tops! Disney was very curtious in allowing us to check out early if we wished or to add another night if needed. I of course added another night, then the silly storm quit moving!:confused3 Most of the wind came the day we ended up actually checking out. Had to sit on the runway for a few minutes waiting for a band of heavy rain/wind to pass by. I would have sworn we were already flying.:rotfl: A big thanks to you gals who organized this! The fridge when packed up with "supplies" is very full. There are 4 huge coffee mugs included and 4 plastic bowls, rags, plasticware and filters. I'm so relieved the next swapper got Nemo. I forgot to leave the claim ticket for them. Hope you all have as wonderful of a trip as we did! THANKS AGAIN!

You are very welcome and glad you had a great trip. Thanks for the update on supplies. Great idea to take a picture of claim ticket with your phone and send to me. I forwarded it to Pha1226 so she had it if necessary. I see you booked your trip for next year, do you want to put in for Nemo?

Did you book a "bounce-back" trip for next year? Are they offering it this year??

No - no trip for next year yet. I guess my ticker just started over (?)Going to try and stay away for a couple of years:eek: . They did have bounceback offers in the rooms but only for the rest of 2008. Thanks for sending the photo to Patti. I guess with the rain/wind on that final day I just blanked out leaving it at the desk. Still unpacking! Have a great evening!:flower3:

I was sad all the bouncebacks were for the rest of the year. We were going to book for our honeymoon next year, but we couldn't. Oh well. :confused3

Glad to see you're back! It was great meeting you! :thumbsup2

You know you were actually the first person who wasn't on the trip with us that we told that we were engaged. Even before our parents (other than my dad, who was on the trip)! :rotfl: We called the night before, but no one picked up.

Glad you made it home ok Diane! We had a crazy day. We stayed in St. Augustine for a day and a half to recuperate from the drive but everything was closed because of Fay. We walked around in the wind and rain quite a bit. When we woke up this morning to pack up to come to Pop, the power went out so we had to pack in the almost dark and then navigate the flooded streets.

It was all worth it when we check in, got Nemo and went to the Magic Kingdom!:cool1: It was raining off and on but at this point, we're used to being wet.

I bought coffee filters and packing tape to try to reinforce the box a little.

Can I join for May 16th thru the 24th 2009? I was in another swap but have changed my datesand they are taken on that thread ! I have done swaps before so know the rules !Thanks

How did you cope with the rain while in the parks? Did you wear poncho's?

Awww. I feel special:upsidedow . I think I have to say you're my first DIS person to meet. We left a coffee pot last year for someone from the DIS, but never met up. This year I met 3 people and all were so nice! Congrats again on your engagement. Your ring is very pretty. I am going to catch your trip report soon. My kids start school on Monday, so I'm getting all of that together and getting unpacked/laundry done from the trip. I did see the first page - love all the photos! Have fun planning that wedding/honeymoon.

Wow! It appeared that most of the weather was happening anywhere but DisneyWorld. Lots of rain but not too bad. We did stay in the room one day when it was absolutely pouring down and did puzzles, play cards, but that was like our 5th day there so we were ready for a break. Have fun Patti! hope you have lots of dreams and magical moments.:thumbsup2

Sorry for all the posts, I don't know how to multi-quote. Before this trip I barely knew how to send a text message on my phone.:rotfl:

We did use panchos and they kept us mostly dry. Just no staying dry on thunder mountain in the rain. I asked the CM at thunder mountain if it closed when it starts raining hard and he said no - just becomes a water ride:lmao: And that it was. The rain didn't bother us as we got to walk on almost everything and had plenty of space to walk through the park. Something about being able to look across the park and see sidewalk makes it feel special. I know-silly. Pluse it was only 75 degrees in August. We went last August and just about died - and I live in central Texas where it's hot most of the year.

We had brought along cheapy panchos from Target for this trip and used them most of the time. My DH wanted to spring for some of the park panchos on the last day in the parks (?) and those barely lasted through the day. They tore on almost all of ours within a couple of hours. The cheapy ones were still in perfect condition. We did have an umbrella, but never used it. Just too much of a hassle.

Thanks for the information on the panchos. I will pick some up at Target before our trip. :goodvibes

We have an 8:05 am ADR at Crystal Palace in hopes of seeing the park empty!!! So I don't think you are silly at all.

What happened to your trip and dining reports? I keep checking and no updates, I want to hear the all important story of what was in the box.

Finally under 100 days for us (actually 98 days from today). :yay: :yay: We started out at 400+ days so 98 seems like nothing.

You were my second, but the other doesn't really count. Some lady came up to me at Epcot and was like "Yay lime green mickey head! The first one I've ever seen! Disboards rock!" and walked away. I was like " WAIT! Who are you?!", but she was gone.

I know, I know. I'm horrible. Nic moved into his dorm this week, and we've been trying like crazy to find a ceremony location so we can book, since we're thinking next July, plus I picked out my dress today!!  But, I'm planning on doing at least 2 today, now that Jacques is taking a nap.
