I'm almost finished my pics from my last trip but I thought I would post the picture I decided to use for the freebee. I will post my report to the photography boards as soon as I'm done the organizing and fine tuning

This print was put together from fireworks images and Castle images I shot on the same night, albeit from different locations. God bless photoshop!

Great shot! The colors are great and very creative use of fireworks.

I just wanted to point out that on my monitor, you can see the square that you presumably cut from another fireworks shot and then pasted into this one (on the left). Not sure if that is going to be visible in the print or not, but something to make note of anyhow. I'm sure someone (Tom?) can explain how to do it, but you can layer images and then erase in what you want to show through from one layer to the next. This may make for a more seamless transition in the shot. I saw you were going to put it on your fridge, just wanted to make sure it's as good as it can be.

Thanks Ann, I was wondering the same thing myself so the freebee at Walgreens is just the ticket to settle that.

I am working on my Photoshop skills and I really have to go back over my course work and relearn the things I never had a chance to use.

I feel confident with my adjustments to the image in camera raw but the merging of layers thing is going to keep me busy once I get to the point where I can play with the images I have from this trip.

This is the great thing about using pix that you've taken at Disney... The subject matter really holds your interest and stimulates your creativity when you want to push your skill set forward with software apps.

Yes! There is a VERY easy way to correct this. Unfortunately, it takes a lot to explain how to do it. But if there were some way to show you, you too would be shocked at how easy it was.

Actually, I did a quick search on YouTube, and if you've got 6 1/2 minutes to spare, here's a video on EXACTLY the same project you're working on: adding extra fireworks to a black sky! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RF3QJdlduEw

The key to this technique is to use the "Blend If" sliders in Photoshop.

First, you have to be comfortable with using Layers in Photoshop. Using the layer with the extra fireworks, you right-click to select "Blending Options...". At the bottom of the "Blending Options" box is the "Blend If" sliders.

Because the fireworks sky is mostly black, you can easily "erase" all the black sky using the "Blend If" sliders, so that only the colored fireworks appear seamlessly on your background image!

I just picked up the print and the lighter edge does not show up at all but Walgreens went in about an inch on the right and left side of the print and pruned the fireworks!

I was thinking I had to rework this print if it were to go in a frame but if I use Walgreens I'm going to have to use huge edges to account for their cropping!
