Free 100 points with add on

Just got the March Member Clubhouse and the new deal "Purchase an additional Ownership Interest equal to 120 or more Vacation Points, and Disney Vacation Club will add 100 complimentary Vacation Points to your Membership Use Year". The quote is from the news. They must be used or banked. If not they expire.

My guide told me they have to be used by this year or forfeit it. Banking not allowed. I found your info more credible coming from the newsletter itself.

If you can't trust your guide for info..........Let's jus say I'm glad we have this message board.

This is from the disclosure information. The portion that isbold needs to be clarified. It seems that they can be banked but not used? I interpret it to mean if banked can be used in the banked to use year.

The Developer Vacation Points you receive will have the same Use Year and Home Resort Priority as the Use Year of the Vacation Points in your initial purchase and are limited to a one-time use of the Developer's Ownership Interest represented by such Developer Vacation Points. If the Developer Vacation Points are not used in the first Use Year or banked to the subsequent Use Year, the Developer Vacation Points will automatically expire. I spoke with our guide today, because in reading other posts the bonus 100 points would be for life. Too good to be true so I called Bernard .

He said that the 100 bonus points are to be used in 2005 or banked for the following use year only. If not used or banked this year then they are lost. If banked and not used the following year then they are lost. Therefore, must use them this year or if banked next year.

I still like the idea of the extra 100 points for the next 48 years though!!!

We love Bernard -- fun to chat with on the phone; always gives the straight goods, and he called to check up on us while we were visiting SSR in early January.

I too talked to Bernard today. He is great! He always leaves a nice message when we are visiting WDW. However, I think I'm a bit confused. I might have to call him again tomorrow. We talked about banking points, but I think he was implying the add-on points adherre to the banking rules (i.e. 100% by X date, 75% by X date, etc.). I forgot to ask about the "bonus" 100 points. We have already banked some points from our 04 allotment and therefore, he explained that we can only bank a certain number of points (he was nice enough and gave me the exact number) from the 120 points we will receive from '04. From georgeat's post, it kind of sounds like the 220 points we will receive from the add-on all fall under the banking rules. I have until the end of May to figure this out!
