Denise-that moth is sooo cool. I've never even heard of it. I bet that's what madd saw though. And believe me, madd, I see some creepy, brutal stuff around here all the time. It just doesn't bother me since I am ONE SICK FREAP to start with.

Those moths still freak me out. I seem to see them mostly as dusk and that makes it worse. I'm ok with bugs and even some creepy stuff IF I have warning. I do NOT like to be surprised!

I bet that was it!!!!!! The body did look longer than a bumble bee!-oh, that is so sad that I witnessed it's demise! It made a crunch sound!

But praying Mantises (Manti?) are so cool!

On a related note. We had enchiladas last night and Nick was putting sliced black olives on top of his. One dropped and rolled in it's side along the floor. Out of the corner of my eye I thought I saw a rroach and . My family laughhed at me

Sally, it has suddenly gotten here...it was 36 degrees this morning at 7:00. Summer seems to be over and I have probably waited too long. DH says he will paint the rest of the barn once I finish what I want to do. But, that is starting to look like it will happen when we get back from our trip. I am SO not happy about the cold weather coming and I can use all the I can get!

Theresa, I have tried to stop feeding mine and it never works! They still manage to find a way to keep getting bigger.

And I thought we had it cold this morning with 50! I know I shouldn't complain but I'm just not ready to wear pants. At least there's capris . The barn quilt looks awesome!

I tell you I think the growing potion is in the water. It seems like yesterday she was this real little girl not the tween girl she is now. Time how it passes so quickly

Theresa- I was talking to my SIL yesterday and she said that morning my niece, Karlee did not wake up until 10:30am- my SIL said she SWEARS Karlee grew an inch just while sleeping

I love all the WDW resort photos. We are "resort newbies" and I am constantly amazed at all the beautiful sites at the resorts. We are staying at the Music (value) resort next week, I think. I had to make this trip cheap enough to squeak in order to get DH to go this time.

Mt- I did not know you were going to Disney next week!!!!!! SO many Dis'ers I know are going within the next few weeks! Are you going just for the F&W?? Don't forget to use your snack credits for the little food carts in Epcot! Be sure to get Kir Royal (not too sweet ) in France!

We stayed at the ASMu and I loved it! We were in the back (and off to the side) of the resort and it was so quiet! I cannot remember the section, but we had our own little "courtyard" We also stayed at the Movies- but I prefer the Music! We now do POP only b/c I DESPISE the Disney buses and POP has their own bus. But- I still prefer Music even over POP.

I should be packing but DH keeps encouraging me to get these quilts painted/finished. I got the space taped out and primer and white paint on.

I am glad to see so many of us all coming back to the FREAP thread at the same time. I guess we can all reconnect a little more, now, with school starting again and we're all getting back into a routine.

Your quilt looks AWESOME!!!! I was showing DH b/c he has a big pole barn in the back- we still need to add the weather vane to the cupola but I asked him if I can paint a quilt on the side! (the darn thing is 30x40 we have the room!)....he said, no But he liked yours! I love to give things "character"! Great job! I am still waiting to get his doors on the garage painted RED!

I am PEEING! I do that kind of thing ALL THE TIME!

I do this almost EVERY night......including last night- We have hardwood floors in our bedroom and it never fails- I take my glasses off before I go to bed (I then, cannot see far away) and in the one corner there is a dark spot in the wood, I guess it is a "knot" and I ALWAYS think it is a bug! You think I would know by now!

Last night DH and I went grocery shopping and we got home around 9- I was putting the key in the front door and the darn bugs are all flying willy nilly around the darn porch light and I am getting all freaked out- while putting the key in the door it sounded like something hit the door (I thought it was a bug) and I SCREAMED so loud I heard my voice echo throughout the neighborhood! I turned around and DH was just staring at me, and I said "what the HECK was that?" He said......."it was you....." (I still think it was a bug)

OMG- I am still peeing!

BTW- Yes- I like praying manti- that is why I did not intervene. But then again- I also thought maybe the manti would have started flying right at me and I would have freaked out!

And now that I'm on a roll, here are some family pictures from this past weekend. Here are me and the kids on a hike. It was insanely hot which explains the sweaty red faces.

And here are the kids on the balcony of our room. The view is amazing though it took until about noon every day before the fog burned off and you could see the mountains.

Marna, where did you go? These pictures are BEAUTIFUL! I miss mountains - we've been here in very FLAT Florida for too long. I love the pictures of your garden, too! Once it starts cooling down here I'm going to grow some veggies. Way too hot for anything right now.

We had rain every 2-3 hours from Monday until Friday! Nothing serious thank goodness, but enough to make us kindof housebound and stir crazy! Now the mosquitos are all hatching! Yuck!!!! I was sitting at my son's soccer practice last night and was being used as a chew toy! Tomorrow I'm bringing repellant!

I'm really, really behind on the boards. My computer crashed for the second time in two months (ughhh) and it's finally back working now.. I wanted to comment on the mosquitos! They were so bad here - kids and I were in the car at the bus stop, and to save gas I thought we'd roll down the windows and turn the car off while we waited. BAD idea.. we got the windows down about two or three inches and at LEAST twenty mosquitos got in the car. I've never seen them that bad! Luckily, Mosquito Control was out that night with their huge plane spraying, so the next morning they were gone.

Mtnbluejeans, here is what's coming to you soon. As promised it snowed on Sept 1 here and we ran out to get the picture. Our child asked if it was Christmas!

The quilt looks good on the barn as does that 2 ton of hay you have put up. What are you feeding? What kind of hay is that? I hear an advert for a ton at $260 yesterday That is why I sold all my horses this year and the trailers too. Now for the tack.
