Happy Happy Belated Birthday Madd!

I haven't been around in soooo long I feel like I'll look like a newbie, but my son just went back to school (he goes to year round) and this is as close as I could get to the computer for some "me" time since May! But I have missed you all sooooo much and will spend some time tomorrow going back and catching up on all that has happened. I read the last page or two while having a glass of vino (of course) and I'm sure I need to go back further!

Kellie, I hope you're hanging tight! And I'm sooooo pleased to see that Alesia has a hat named after you! When my grandma passed away last year (at 87 and having survived breast cancer TWICE! She passed of old age!) we had requested that donations be made to the S.B.K. fund. So I think it's a fantastic idea! Way to go!

Happy Birthday Madd!!!!

Been busy the past few days....DD6 & I picked 11 pounds of blueberries on Saturday, Sunday was a veg. day and today we spent at Gillette Stadium watching out beloved Patriots!!!! I'll post some pics later. Just got home about 8PM and we left at 10:30 Oh and my face is tomato red....should have brought the sunscreen

I am finally done moving and the unpacking is coming along. This weekend was so crazy I really dislike moving. But we are now closer to the college and DH work so we are able to commute by bike and that will be awesome. I am so jealous of the garden time some of us Freaps are getting in. That is one thing we left behind. But my MIL is tending it and promises to bring me lots of goodies when they are ready. I will catch up on more tomorrow.

I have given a non-cooperative kitten a bath in the past....and lived to tell the tale!!

I am glad to see everyone else that keeps coming back to join us and post...and keep in touch...and keep us updated!

I almost forgot....I found another zucchini (cup)cake recipe....but it doesn't involve chocolate.

IAHD-that looks like tons of fun....except for the football part! Glad you guys had a good time but sorry about the sunburn.

Theresa-Yay! The moving is over!!! Hope your MIL doesn't forget your garden loot.

mtblu-thanks for the zucchini pound cake recipe. It was a big hit at my book club on Sunday.

And for all those who were worried, the bath went just fine. He actually cleaned himself up pretty good but his head was still all sticky where he couldn't reach it so we had to give him the bath anyway. He didn't seem too upset at the process(nor did he really seem to enjoy it ) and now he is all clean, soft and sweet smelling. Hopefully that will be the last bath for a long time. He's growing like crazy so I need to get some new pictures and post them, plus, I have a ton of garden pictures so I need to show ya'll my "jungle".

If he didn't put up a big fight then you might consider doing bathes pretty routinely....if it's part of the norm they seem to tolerate them vs. once in a great while and then watch out!

I'm sure you probably heard this news already, but I saw on the Dis homepage that JD is going to be playing the Mad Hatter!!!!!! How crazy will that be?

Noooooo! I did not hear that, until now! I just Googled it and I see who is behind it-- yup- Tim Burton. I am sorry- I KNOW they are friends but they REALLY need to cut the ties- it is becoming VERY annoying!

IMHO Tim will totally botch Dark Shadows- the movie should be scary- NOT goofy scary like Sleepy Hollow

I CAN see a wacky Alice in Wonderland in 3-D, you can't really do a serious Alice. But I think JD should stick to roles like Fear and Loathing, (crossing my fingers and wishing on a star that he will eventually do Rum Diary) Public Enemies, Blow, you can see where I am going. Give up the goofy crap!

BUT! with that said- I feel a new connection with JD! Maybe I will be world famous

BTW- not sure if anyone is a Howard Stern/Sirius fan- BUT! the merger finally went through today! The company is NOW Sirius XM Radio. I went to my stock peeps today and wanted to buy MORE shares of Sirius but I have to wait until tomorrow when my check clears I have 530 and want 600 more!

You know what really stinks!? They told me for every 1 share of XM stock you own, you will get 4 shares! of Sirius! Not the case for Sirius stock holders- I was hoping that WOULD be the case when I was stocking up on the shares!

But- I am still crossing my fingers that the stock will rise!....well, wait until after tomorrow when I BUY LOWWWWWW!

I am sorry - but I have been a Howard fan 20+ years and I am PSYCHED!!!!! He is a genius!

madd-I'm totally clueless about this merger. Does it mean I'll be able to listen to the Sirius channels on my XM? I figure if it does I would have to buy a new receiver though. I sure would like to get Sirius just to have NPR(I know I'm a total dork ).

They have not explained everything yet, that I know of- Hopefully we will not need receivers etc!

But yes, all channels will be combined. Not sure how they will do this. I would think they would want to make it as painless as possible for all the existing subscribers of both XM and Sirius- I am just hoping the price does not go up much. Someone on the CB said maybe they will do a la carte channels. That would be good- b/c is a lot I do not even listen to.

The only reason I got Sirius is for Howard and he is worth every single penny I pay every quarter. I just WISH I would have gotten the lifetime subscription- I am not sure if they will still offer it- I should check it out.

IAHD - I absolutely LOVE the one of your DS with the cheerleader
I am very excited the jd is doing mad hatter, but I also love him in other goofy rolls like willy wonka and jack sparrow too. It does trip me out though, watching him & then trying to picture him in like Blow or something - so totally different. Fear and Loathing is brilliant. jd is true genious.

Happy to hear about sirrius and xm b/c hopefully they will combine channels to bring an even broader line-up to all I wish we had stock - that would be fun right now!

Glad the kitty bath went well, though I won't be trying it anytime soon. You are brave.

What is going on? All same old same old here.
We went to the DRs today and they said that since the fever is gone and I have not had one for 3 days then we may be getting ready to turn the coner on this mess. I will still have the visting the nurse everyday and I will see the Dr once a week. So hopefully this will start getting better. But they said it will be a while.

IAHD glad you guys had fun at the Pats training camp. DH will be going soon. He loves taking the kids. Last year our sweey godson asked one of the cheerleaders to marry him. She told him that him she was to old for him and he said thats okay I love older pretty girls.

My boys are sooo excited- their first issue of MAD magazine showed up today.
I also received my menopause handheld fan. It took me forever to figure out what the heck it was- for a second I thought it was one of those quill dude freebies, and I was wondering when the heck did I order THAT b/c my DS11 was holding it and trying to put in the batteries... I finally calmed down enough to read the packaging to see the smiling woman and the word menopause on the package...

I am so PO'd- this morning on Howard- Mel Karmazan (CEO of Sirius) was talking about the merger and the changes- and guess what!?

...............I was on the stinking phone the whole time with HP customer service!!!!!!!!!!! That is a whole other story that ended in me screaming F you to the 3rd! idiot I s/w there (believe me- a total of 30 minutes and 42 seconds on the phone being placed on hold 100 times warrants an F you! )
