Hey Freaps,
I have my appointment in the morning and then again on Friday morning with the DRS at Dana Farber to decide what two treatments they are going to use. But I need to ask them if the pills they put me on are what is making my hair very curly and turning darker. :confused3 If it is not from the meds then I am a freak:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

What is Dana Farber, is it like a national group of treatment centers?

And a free dye job and perm thrown in!

I do NOT like Johnny in those high rise pants..I thought it was a fashion statement for a moment, til I read the little script at the bottom...then it was OK...

Good idea:worship:
I did google it and it did not show this would happen. But I still want to check with the DR. I bet he will tell me I am a freak.:rotfl2:

Dana Farber is one of the top cancer hospitals in the country. We are lucy to live close enough for me to be able to get there. Boston is only like 30-40 minutes from my house. I needed my grays covered anyways:rotfl2: They do not allow you to color your hair while doing treatments. So maybe they decided they had a way of helping me out:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hi freaps. I'm in a funk today.:sad1: We have had to cancel/postpone our free dining trip. After our scare over the possibility of DH losing his job we just decided that we should do a better job of getting our finances in order before doing any big trips. So who knows when we'll make it back?:confused3 So now it's back to sticking with the budget board and meandering over to the CB to get into trouble every now and then.:rotfl2:

Aww...I am so sorry to hear this! That's no fun!!

Maybe I missed the post....have you heard what the financing-powers-that-be have decided about the budget? Will your DH be able to stay in his job?

Oh no Marna!!!! I am so sorry- but your finances should be priority!

Disney will always be there waiting for you when you are ready!:dance3:

Does anyone know about this guy Dave Ramsey? I see his name a lot on the boards when finances are brought up?
http://www.daveramsey.com/

I pay off my credit card every month- however, I need to be more disiplined about spending LESS on my CC and add MORE to my IRA, Money Market and vacation fund accts!

I want to read his book and keep meaning to get to the library to take it out but with lifes busy-ness I haven't gotten around to it. I feel like I would be "cheating" if I went out and actually BOUGHT the book :lmao: We recently have come to the end of paying off all debt - about 40K - not including our mortage and am finally starting to feel the pressure ease off our shoulders about how we were going to pay this bill or that. Now we are looking at paying off our mortgage ($87K left :woohoo: ) and putting money away for retirement and kids college funds (or a dp on owning their living arrangements should they not decide to do college). I really just want to see what his strategies are and beliefs on savings.

DH is always pounding it into my head- PAY YOURSELF FIRST! I get $$ taken out of my paycheck everyweek for MY IRA- I have the bank take out money everyweek and put that into a Christmas Club-

I used to be disiplined and add $$ into DHs IRA, our vacation acct and our Money Market buy lately I have been very lazy. :sad2:

DH is so afraid he is going to be one of those old men walking down the street b/c he won't he will not be able to afford a car when he gets old- he is not a happy camper right now b/c I have become undisiplined-

I need to snap out of it and get my crap together!

We have our 401's but need to put more away for the same reasons....my FIL/MIL's car broke down last Friday - needs a new engine to the tune of $4200 and he said they cannot afford a new car right now. He will walk to the supermarket if he has to :scared1: Not that we'd let them of course but it really is an eye opener to see/know someone who is older and has to stretch their SS every month :guilty: Don't get me wrong, they aren't in the poor house but they need to watch where there money goes and stick to the budget.

I asked about it on a thread and apparantly it is faith based if that makes any difference...

Dave Ramsey has some good points and bad. We just use what fits our family most. I just listen to his talk show because he says not to waste money on one time things and his book to me would be a one time thing. But I think you have to decide for yourself.

Susan-unless the governor vetoes the budget by April 15th, DH still has a job.

I have looked at the Dave Ramsey website and tried to get some helpful info. I did think it was hilarious that you have to pay monthly to sign up for help.:confused3 I have a friend that is going to loan me her copy of the book. I am so not into the faith-based aspect of it, but I am hoping to get some pointers. DH has been trying to hide the trouble we are in financially but I am taking over bill paying so I know what the crap is going on with our finances. I think he just didn't want me to know how bad it is. I am determined to make it work so that we can add more to retirement, build up a savings and hopefully, some day, buy into DVC. That's my dream anyway. We have a long road to go however.:sad2:

Marna- it seems you have a goal! That is the first step!

Even if you put away 25.00 bucks a week towards savings or the kids college fund- at least it is better than putting nothing away- it will grown in time-

Good Luck!
