Hey y'all!

I like 13 & 22 :lmao: :lmao:

Kellie...take it easy....I know, I know, if you hear that 1 more time your probably gonna scream, right? You should crack your docs up next week and apply a couple pasties before you go in.....tell them you wanted to dress up for the event  Hopefully this will be it and it will be smooth sailing from here on out.

How is your daughter doing with all this going on? I know it's been hard on your and John too. I know your daughter is fairly young (college age) but has she considered getting a baseline mammagram with the family history? I am sure with all you've been through in the past and now again it's on her mind too but sometimes kids put it out of their mind and "forget" to actually do it.

Happy thoughts & prayers will continue to be said for you and your family throughout this ordeal! You can do it!

We seem to be missing some of our freaps.
Has anyone seen Alexwyattmom and Tink? Anyone else I missed.
I think we need to do a roll call

Which Tink?

AWM has been around.

AWM has been around.

We did speak to the DRs at Dana Farber and when she goes back to school in September they are going to have her set up a appt. with them and they will do some testing on her and get all the base line infro on her. They said even with her being just turning 21 they want to be on top of things with her. She is doing very well with all this. She is an amazing kid. I look at her and can not beleive how I lucked out and got her. If she did not look so much like us I would wonder if we came home with the wrong baby.

On the pasties if I had some I would so do it. My Drs would love it. They think I have lost my mind as it is.

Tinkerbean has not checked in for a while. I hoping her foot and that lovely boot of hers are doing good.:rotfl2:

She's lurking about
Smiley-hiding-behind-couch.gif
she posted on the coupon train I'm on (I send to her) so I know she's at least been around. Maybe she's trying to NOT PUI with that lovely machine she has now  It might get her into trouble :rolleyes1

we saw that machine at the bass pro store on sale for 200.00 dollars.
DD said she wished I got that house party so she could take the machine with her to apartment at school in the fall.
I think they would just make frozen drinks with no booze in them.:lmao: What do you think?

Kellie: Isn't DH's job interview today? How'd it go?

It was. He said it went well. They told him he would hear from them next week.
He went for a tour of the place with they guy he would be replacing. The guy told him he was the first one they asked him to take on a tour. So that is a good sign.

I'm here!!!:yay: I'm here!!! Thanks for all the wonderful advice.:grouphug: Yesterday was just really rough since I was so tired. I slept the sleep of the dead last night, then worked in my garden while the kids played on a new water slide and now....drum roll please....they are both napping!!!! Not sure for how long but I'll take what I can get. DS may be done napping for the most part since he has never been a good sleeper.:confused3 He doesn't get OUT of bed though so the supernanny advice wouldn't work. He just lays there and screams at the top of his lungs until DH or I go to check on him. I'm going to try the tip from Alesia(I think) and get a little clock and tell heim he has to play quietly until the alarm goes off. I think that will work for him because he does enjoy playing without DD trying to boss him around.:rotfl2: That way I get a break and DD, who is two years older but still likes her nap, can get some rest as well.

mtblujeans-fix that youngun' something sweet so he'll leave you alone. Come on...you know you want something too!:rotfl2: I was planning to make a zuchinni chocolate cake today thanks to you making me think of it, but then realized I am out of flour!:scared1: I made homemade tortillas yesterday evening and was so tired I didn't even see that I was almost out. :headache: I'm going to the store after work tomorrow and I'll get several bags. I go through tons of flour it seems. I want some zuchinni bread, too. Yummm...... We've now started getting a few cucumbers too and all my sunflowers, zinnias, etc. are getting ready to bloom. As soon as they do I'm going to get a picture to post.

John and Shaunna did that to me for my 40th a couple of years ago. It was fun.

Marna how is your day going today?

My Dr called and they are going to deal with me next Thursday morning. :cool1: But the bad thing is they can not knock me out. They are worried that it will be hard for me to bounce back and with my blood work still off they do not want to make things harder for me. So they will do thier best to make it as numb as they can so it not to hard on me.
They since I will not be knocked out if DH wants they will let him be in the room to read to me and keep my busy. So I have told them he will be in there.

Kellie can the doc give you (yet another) pill to make you a little loopy? Just be careful you do not get up on the table and start dancing- what- with the pasties on and all!:lmao:

An ex-employee of ours had breast cancer, she is in her early 30s and she was having her daughter tested to see if she had the gene that causes breast cancer...that is what she said anyway- I think her daughter is 11.

I guess if she did have the gene- she can make a decision whether to .......keep them or not when she gets old enough:guilty:

The employee was fired before I got to find out the results. :confused3

Just in case you all miss me this weekend:rolleyes: - we are leaving tonight for the shore- hoping to catch some wind in the sails tomorrow.

We will be back Sunday b/c have a b-day party to go to- who knows when I will be able to get on the computer!

I am so glad everything is going better today....a good way to start the weekend!

This morning I was telling DS about your non-napper and how he was the non-napper at our house. He denied all knowledge! I reminded him of a few things he did when he was little and he practically put his hands over his ears and did a "lalalalalalalala" the whole time I was talking. After a few minutes of silence, he said "if only I could get all those non-sleep minutes back now!" He will be 17 next month and I swear he must be growing because he only wants to eat AND sleep....all the time! :confused3

I should do some baking! Costco has nice blueberries right now and I printed a sour cream blueberry coffee cake recipe off. We don't have much in our garden this year as we got a late start. I would enjoy seeing pictures of everybody else's gardens, though.

Have fun, Madd!

Everybody have a safe weekend. :yay:

Aww, thanks for missing me.
I have been trying to keep up with the reading.

 Kellie. You really are an amazing inspirational woman.

I have a non-sleeper at my house too. He's also the one I couldn't reason with. He is better now. With the reasoning, not the sleeping.:sad2:

I've been super busy doing swap (scrapbooking) stuff that takes up most of my time and my thoughts when I'm not working. Not sure I could I type coherently, so I haven't.

Okay, that's all I got. Have to go back and do more cutting and pasting.

They are going to give me a couple of pills to at least mellow me out.
On the test I did and I do carry the gene. But we are not having DD do cause the laws. If she does carry it then it can be an insurance nightmare for her. So they will just watch her closer.

We missed you. Is Tink lost in the scrapbook world with you?

This sounds very promising! We should probably be getting ready for a virtual party!! :dance3: :cheer2:

Wow, that is just not fair. She can't find out if she has the gene because then it is a "pre-existing condition"? Stupid insurance. You would think it would cost less money in the long run to know ahead of time that certain procedures will need to be done.

TinkerBean does pop in every now and again to check in on the swaps she is in, but I think real life has her running. Can't you just see her running around in her cast?

Health insurance right now can no touch her since she is still under us. But when she gets out of college and gets a job it can be hard,to the point the insurance company can drive the cost up for the whole company. So we have decided that it is best not to test her. Dana Farber did mine as part of a study group so my insurance can not do anything.
But DD could have a tough time getting life insurance if she had the test done also. Right now there is no law to stop them from being able to refuse her. But the DRs at Dana Farber said since I carry the gene then they will just watch her better.

Tink I bet by now has made the cast pretty.:lmao:

Hello All , Sorry I have been MIA this week. I have been crazy busy. I just got the best phone call I am a new aunt again.
goedhoorbaby.gif
My DB and his wife just welcomed new baby Nicoles to the world at 7:30 this morning. I will post a picture later this afternoon when I make it up to see them. Hope all is well.

:rotfl: Good mornin', all! Youngest DS went to a Blue Oyster Cult concert last night! He thinks they are the "coolest band in the whole wide world" now! He got some autographs and won't stop talking about it. You get the kid a cell phone that has a camera and you'd think he'd use it!! Nope...! :rotfl:

The thrill of MY weekend and I didn't even do anything....I should go buy me a life!

My sister had the genetic testing done too-she kept it quiet from her insurance company (really sucks it has to be on the sly like this!). Luckily she came up negative for gene. to you Kellie-I know it must be tough for you right now!

I did ask the DRs how much this will increase DD chances and they said it now puts her in what they call high risk.
But at least they will watch her. Yeah insurance companies make it hard. They would rather pay alot out on the other end.So they can tag you as high risk.:confused3
