FREAP CHAT ~ Everyone Welcome!

Awesome pics! The resort looks beautiful! And so do you! I hate pics of myself too, but yours look great! Is that one of your JUICY suits? And didn't you have darker hair in your disney pics???

Yes- that is my Juicy bathing suit- I am not brave enough to post the full pic of me that shows the bottoms also:rotfl2: That darn bathing suit was the most comfortable thing I ever put on my body!

My hair might look lighter b/c of the sun- I always get it the same color.

We had (one) ruin on the property-
186.jpg

get this- one day I heard the lifeguard blowing his whistle so I look to where he is directing it act.....some freaking DOPE climbs on top of the ruin with his kid and is having his pic taken- I can care less how dangerous it is for the dumb$#@ to be on top of the thing, too bad if he fell- I guess that would be the gods teaching him a lesson-- I just thought it was very disrespectful, climbing on top of something that is so sacred to some people :sad2:

DH and I said NEXT TIME we will check out Chichen Itza and Tulum/Xel-Ha... I also want to go to Xcaret and Coba. We would want to stay 2 weeks if were going to do some excursions. b/c we would need the extra week to lay around and recover from actually moving off property and doing something:rotfl2:

Thanks for the birthday wishes!:cloud9: Madd-what resort did you go to? I'm already thinking about doing something like that for our 10 year anniversary. We went to Sandals in Jamaica on our honeymoon but I've heard the Mexican all-inclusives are just as nice and much cheaper. I think we even used Apple vacations on our honeymoon.

Oh, I just remembered. Do any of ya'll have the January GQ magazine? One of our best friends was featured in an article on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder from Vietnam and I really want a copy.

Call your local grocery store or Walmart and ask them who their magazine distributer is. Then, call that distributer and ask them if they still have that magazine (pulled from the local displays) and tell them you want to buy a copy. If they have it, they will usually sell it to you. :goodvibes

We went on-shore 3 days of the our cruise and I planned an excursion for each day. I tried to get as far away from the ports as I could on those excursions because DH has been talking about taking the cattle and moving to Mexico for years and I wanted him to see what Mexico was really about.

All 3 of the excursions took all day long and we didn't even get to see the port cities the ship was docked at. :headache: If we ever get the chance to go down that way again....I want to relax! :rotfl: And I don't mean sitting in front of a movie on a cruise ship! :rolleyes1

Hey freaps,
Madd I am glad you a feeling a little better. Take care of your self. I love the photos. It looks so pretty. I hope you took a nap on the beach for me. I can tell you had a shot for me.:rotfl2: That tequila will get you every time.
Hadley I know you said tequila makes you take your clothes off I think there is a country song by that name. It must have been you that it was written about.:rotfl:
Rhonda see who signs up and we can pick a date that is good for everyone. I am easy. But not cheap:rotfl2:

Madd, does this look like some of the beach you were on? This is part of a beach at Cabo:

Beach.jpg

It does resemble our beach b/c of the rocks- but all the pics I took were right on the Grand Sirenis property down in Riviera Maya.

Here are more pics- I could not believe how rocky it was- people (including DH) left their marks by making their own "stone creations"

and DH making his creation:

Oh and another great thing was- twice they cooked lunch on the beach for everyone- the first time they cooked Paella- It looked and smelled really good-
068.jpg

Of course, I do not partake in the eating of little critters- SO! I was enjoying the homemade SANGRIA! OH MAMA! IT WAS TO DIE FOR! I had a bit too much of that to drink that day- but it was the best Sangria I have ever tasted- (Weird, they were giving us the Sangria- however, it looks like the chef was drinking beer...go figure!):rotfl2:
069.jpg

The funniest thing was- people are such scavangers when they see food, especially free food- people were in line for paella and god forbid they let anyone in to get a glass for the Sangria (me) I walked up to the Sangria and just wanted a glass and no one would let me in line, NOT like I was going to steal food from their plates!- so, this woman pick up a glass and gives it to the server so he can fill it up with Sangria.... and what does he do, he fills up HER glass and gives it to ME! HAA!:lmao: You should have seen her face- she was apauld! She goes...."oh......" all snooty:snooty: and I just gave him a big smile and handed HER, MY EMPTY cup and walked away!:rotfl2: :flower3: He probably saw me standing there waiting just to get a drink and no one would be kind enough to let me get one!

That is the way people were about the food on the cruise, too. It was amazing to see! :sad2: Someone gave me a look that could kill, once, when I went up to the line to grab a pat of butter. After that, I used the "personal space rule" and just moved faster. ;)

Nice pictures! I love seeing photos of places where you need to wear sunglasses!

Madd.....did you see actual dirt while you were down there? Or, was it sand everywhere?

Well- there was sand and rocks on the beach......Dirt as in??? Not sure what you mean.........

The "natural landscaping" (away from the beach) reminded me of Brazil (a lot of greens and trees)- so I guess there would be dirt on the ground for all of the trees and plants to grow:confused3

002.jpg

To the left of the fountain they had a botanical garden- but I did not get any pics:guilty: they also had walkways through the "jungle" that is what I called the grounds :rotfl2:

Nice pics, you guys..I am totally jealous. Madd, did you have any problems finding veggie food? Did they make you special orders? You know me, it's all about the food.

Oh yeah, Marna...

From the looks of your husbands creation maybe he should have been an architect instead of a mechanic! That's pretty impressive! But don't tell him...it'll go to his head!

Thank you for posting the pictures of your vacations.
I may just yet be able to talk DH into a vacation to Mexico when the boys are old enough to remember and learn from it.

My gosh, your photos of the grounds are beautiful! When we got away from the docks, there still didn't seem to be any dirt....dirt like what we have at home. There just seemed to be sand everywhere. And there were no trees like what we have in the states....it just seemed to be scrub-brush everywhere. I hadn't planned on posting my photos of the Mexico leg of our trip but maybe I should just to get more input from others who have been there. I thought I could only post a Disney-related trip report on the DIS....I am not sure. Or, better yet, we must go back and check out the interior of the country! :rotfl2: I had not idea that Mexico was so volcanic in its' landscape until now.

I was looking for a pic of her in her thong...:confused3

:lmao: One day there were about 5 guys in board shorts with their girlfriends/wives on the beach-

They sounded Canadian (yah..) they guys counted to 5 and all at once they dropped their shorts to reveal.......SPEEDOS!:lmao: It was hilarious!

They all ran into the water together and one of the guys pulled up the Speedos to look like a thong!:lmao:

Everyone was cracking up.........I guess the European guys did not find it very funny......but everyone else did!:rotfl2:

As we were flying into Cancun I was shocked at all the trees on the ground- I did make mention to DH that I was very surprised how green everything was. Even driving to Riviera Maya from Cancun on the bus- there was a lot of greenery.

You should see some of the "things" he welds together for me- oh, and he also whittles wood:surfweb: - he made me a nice totum pole one year:rotfl2: - The top showed a happy face, the 2nd face was sad/mad and the third face was happy again- he said it depicted my 3 faces of the day-

1- Waking up- Happy
2- Work- sad/mad
3- Home- Happy

Yes- he is a very talented guy:rotfl2:

Gotta go get my MRI soon- it is about an hour away and the weather here is crazy- ice everywhere. ekkkk!:scared:
