FREAP CHAT ~ Everyone Welcome!

I am glad you found it. I don't use the DISboards search any more...I use Google. I will put in ~ disboards Office Depot codes ~ or whatever I am looking for and it usually comes up. :goodvibes

WOW! It never occurred to me that Google would look into forums for stuff! (OK, I'm not the most internet-aware individual).
I learned something today! Does that mean I can go back to bed now???

Thanks so much!

HEY! On the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, tonight, they are going to show the first time Johnny Depp was on his show!

A thought just occurred to me.. for the internet savvy folks. I often copy/paste freebies from another freebie forum..one long list of calendars today. Is this legal? This is another forum pretty much like ours, without the *personality*. I would guess normally there would be no way of even knowing, but since I never thought there was anything wrong with it, I usually state that I swiped it! Am I gonna get cyber arrested? But really, I don't want to get "points" from the Dis...

I think the biggest issue is giving credit to the original poster so as to not hurt anyone's feelings. I have posted stuff from other sites and not had any issues unless I do a literally cut & paste - and then the only issue was to not thank and post where the post came from. It is cyber-plagerism (sp?) so to speak and some people can get really offended. Otherwise I don't think it's a problem.:confused3

Where the heck is that bangin' the head against a wall smilie!? I have spent all this week trying to book a flight to DL at A REASONABLE COST and it just ain't happnin'! (I spelled it the way I talk) GRRRRRRRRR! :badpc:

Today I received a very nice lunch bag from Smuckers. Do you all remember that contest for most memorable PB & J moment? It was quite a while back! Anyway, just wondering if anyone else received theirs? It's really nice!

I just want to also say thank you for the info for the Jan Brett book. Our school library also got an autographed copy. The librarian called me to tell me she got it. She let me read it to my son first. She is mounting the letter to the inside of the book so everyone can see it.

Thank you!!

Oh, BTW, my DH is on his way out to your neck of the woods...keep an eye on him for me, would ya?

I broke one of the pins in my watchband today, really didn't want to drive all the way across town to a jeweler. So I called WalMart, she said they had some pins from their watchbands leftover, and to come in and see if we could get one to fit. I went in, we found one..she put it in for me..they don't sell them, so no charge!! That Walmart, sometimes I love 'em, sometimes I hate 'em!

I feel brain numb from all the online stuff I have been doing. We have never traveled around a holiday before and I have waited too long to make some of the reservations! Arg!

We were supposed to have a storm tomorrow but it looks like it is moving in today. My DH left for Helena this morning and he is supposed to be in Bozeman tonight. I hope it stays clear enough for him to have safe travels. Is your DH flying in?

That one sort of tells it's own little story, doesn't it? Are you going to DL NOW? If so , shame on you, a Disser putting off ressies that close to travel.. Hope you can find something, how long are you going to stay. Any amount would be good to get you out of the frozen tundra for a week! Good luck!

DH flew into Bozeman yesterday afternoon, a neighbor from our house picked him up. When he went out in August, he drove our old Explorer. Then while he was in Butte, he fell in love with a big ole' Harley Davidson pickup truck, and traded the explorer in for it. He left the big ole truck out there and flew home. Now he is using the other half of that ticket, flying out there and driving the big ole pickup truck home. It takes him about 4 days to drive...I honestly don't have a clue why he wants to drive (he needed a car and trailer to do some work on the house, but still...) and WHY IN GOD'S NAME HE WANTS TO BE OUT THERE IN THE WINTER...He was freezing when he got there, the neighbor didn't want to drive him up our mountain road-too icy, so DH walked about 1/4 mile in street clothes..I just now realized he had to shlep all that luggage, too. It must have taken him two trips, although he doesn't do things that way...It was 6 degrees outside, the furnace isn't working properly, so he lit a fire in the fireplace and got the inside up to 42 degrees...says it was "toasty"...

NO THANKS!!!!!

Awww....a neat new toothbrush is hardly a consolation, is it?

:sad1: no, no consolation...but the kids want to go to Arizona in February so if DH is doing OK - that's where we'll be headed.

DS (10) who has asperger's is starting to show interest in a cruise!!! :woohoo: I told him about Disney Cruises and he said WOW mom cool :boat:  Now just to convince DH...

Thanks for feeling my pain mtblujeans:flower3: :grouphug:

"Great" freebie day for me! Took the boys to Home Depot to make their little serving trays, free! They turned out really cute..Then got the urge to just keep on driving, took them over to Hilton Head (about 35 miles) to the Tanger Outlets. Spent about $200 :scared1: on Christmas presents we did NOT need (including a really nice Coach bag for me from the Coach outlet) not including gas and lunch, this day started out cheap and got very expensive, very fast...:sad2:

mtblujean, don't tell my DH I bought the purse, it's going to be from Santa.;)...and I did find some Croc Mammoths at the Birkenstock store that DS7 has been begging for..early birthday present.. Kaching, kaching....

We are actually going on our first cruise, the first week in January, down Mexico way out of California. We are going down a couple of days early and hitting DL as hard as we can. :yay: This will be the first trip EVER without kids! I am so excited I can't stand it!

You are right, I had months to get the airline reservations in place and I kept putting it off, thinking the price would go down. But, all normal reason goes out the window when you fly any time around a holiday...duh!! I have been watching (in horror) as the airline rates kept going up and up and up these past few weeks! DUH again!

DH left this morning to drive over to Helena and then down to Bozeman. We are supposed to have a storm moving in from the west tomorrow. The high was about 13 degrees today with a light snow all day long. And, of course, as it always happens when DH is on the other side of the state, something "went wrong" today...but I don't want to talk about it. :rolleyes1 I am not clear if the storm will be working its way as far as Bozeman or not. I will have to catch the weather tonight, on the news, and see what they are predicting.

What is wrong with that neighbor to let a man in street clothes walk up an icy driveway in that temperature!? :headache: I am not the outdoorsy type. I purposely freeze up in a few seconds (in winter) just to spite the rest of my family :sad2: There's me and 3 guys in this house....I have to get some attention somehow! :confused3 Sounds like you guys need to stock a couple of down comforters in that house up on the icy hill.

I spoke to DH and he and DS were just going in to watch some Brad Pitt movie at the theater down there. We should have gotten our DHs together...my DH loves playing with fire so he would have been helpful with the fireplace. Hmmm...maybe I shouldn't make that common knowledge. :rotfl:

Why do we always feel guilty when we get to do something fun while the guys are out of town? :scratchin

I DO understand your pain! I feel bad posting that we are going on a cruise, now, but it took me YEARS to talk DH into trying it and he is justifying it that we are going for our 20th anniversary....which was last April! Arizona in February sounds great!! :thumbsup2

The cruise sounds great. I hope you are succesful with your quest, I know that DH has a hard time trying to get flights in and out of Montana using his Delta mileage-he starts many many months in advance, and still has problems. Congrats on your 20th anniversary..our 21st was this September. We took a cruise on our 10th before kids..it was the only cruise I will ever get him on. He hates the idea of staying on a ship for a week. But we found a really cool "adventure" type cruise in Glacier Bay Alaska..small ship-only about 100 passengers. 4 days cruising, 3 days at Glacier Bay Lodge. The ship was small enough that we could cruise right up to the glaciers, into where the seals hang out. We could even get on a Zodiac and go ashore to walk around on the glaciers. No pool, nothing fancy at all. But it was really great, we are not into relaxing on vacation. If we don't come back totally exhausted feeling like we've had the doodoo beat out of us, we don't feel like we have had a vacation. But ONE day, I would like to know what it feels like to be pampered...The closest I get to that is staying at WDW..good enough, for now..;)

And the aforementioned neighbor, that is just him. He is old, about early 70's, probably wasn't happy about making the 3 hour round trip to go get my DH in the first place. He is nice, but crochety..and the road is pretty steep, it had snowed, then thawed, then snowed. I bet he was afraid of getting stuck. DH has parked his vehicle at the bottom of the road before, too. DH doesn't mind something like that, me I'd be b**t**ing up a storm. But then again, I wouldn't even be there in the first place. I'd be here where it is still t-shirt weather..can you imagine Christmas shopping in shorts and a t-shirt?

When DH was younger, he was more adventurous! These past few years, he has gotten more *sedentary*. He used to talk about taking a cruise to Alaska...but he hasn't mentioned that in a looong time. I can't imagine floating right up to the glaciers! I would probably have my camera up to my face for hours if we could see animals out in the water!! :rotfl:

You guys sound like me...that is part of why I love WDW! I get to walk for hours and hours in warm sunshine! DH's job is sitting at a computer all day and mind-stressful...not labor intensive. He said he was looking forward to this cruise so he could sit and relax! WHAT? I fully expect it is going to drive him nuts to be on a ship for a few days, too. That will be the end of that...we'll never take another cruise. :rotfl2:

I think everybody that is older than me in Montana is crochety! (Not very nice of me) My DH doesn't mind doing stuff like that outside either....me, I am the same as you. When I can't feel my toes any more...we've ALL got a problem! :furious:

No, I can't imagine Christmas shopping in a t-shirt and shorts! :sad1: But I sure would love to try it some time! :sunny:

I have never heard of a Harley Davidson truck!!! What a find! :thumbsup2

I kept asking DH which year of marriage was going to be 'special enough' to earn that cruise! Isn't that awful!? :rotfl:

Good night!

They are really cute! And they'd be great for pretend play with a kitchen set. We're keeping one and giving one to a niece. They also got to make snowmen napkin holders :)

Hey freaps-
I have a 20% gymboree code- I would rather offer it up here than on the board in general- so if anyone wants it, first to pm can have it. I will be turning off the computer shortly, so I will respond to pms tomorrow. If no takers, I will put it on the board tomorrow.
