FREAP CHAT ~ Everyone Welcome!

Totally agree with all your points about the baby. Not surprised by it being a dachshund--mine loves all things smelly.
Someday I'll figure out how to post pics here. Til then, Fritzie is a brown wirehaired--kind of golden brown with some black throughout--her coat perfectly matches our couch which she shredded trying to get at a ball under it. My husband was so tempted to skin her to cover the gouges--(he's not a dog person), but we were able to make repairs using a matching pillow.
Good thing Fritzie is so darn cute--she'd have been gone a long time ago, otherwise! She follows me everywhere--bangs open the bathroom door if I don't close it firmly--and gives me unconditional sloppy kisses. I'd be lost without her.
My sister has rescued two dachshunds--both have issues (is there a dachshund that doesn't?) but are great dogs. Very mellow, compared to Fritzie. Although they are like toddlers--the minute my sister gets on the phone, they start yapping. Always want attention.
What's the disposition of your smoothies? They are so cute!
Okay, now I've confirmed that I'm a total dog lady.:scared:

im with ya! My male dog has attachment issues with things (mainly frisbee's, this orange bone he has, etc). We have to take toys away from them so that his sister doesnt get depressed because he spends 100% of his time with these toys (literally shakes when you take them away). He doesnt get that way with ropes though. Although his attachments seem to be with things that can be thrown and he can retrieve.

As for pictures-- if you want to put some on here is what you do. It is SO easy. Go to photobucket.com and create an account (its free and really easy to do). Upload your photos onto the account. Once they are uploaded, just copy and paste the "IMG" code from there, to here. Its that simple. Once its pasted here.... put your text around it and hit "submit reply"-- your photo will appear. Its that easy. HOpe that helps.

I cant get over that article. I forwarded it on to my mom and husband- lol. Its terrible-- it blows my mind how that could happen and no know until after the fact.

I knew a neurotic toy poodle who has issues with a "scuffy" type bedroom slipper.. The owner was a little on the wacky side..the dog was very, very spoiled(that wasn't why I considered the owner wacky!) The dog had never had puppies, but became attached to a bedroom slipper. She pretended to nurse it, and if you came near it she acted like it was her baby. They called it "Dana's baby"):sad2: She would just about push you away by jumping on you or bite your feet if you put your foot near it. Of course, this was terribly amusing to some people who would tease her to see her act silly. This made it worse. One time a friend of the family picked up the "baby" and put it in his pocket..then forgot about it and left with it...He called and said, "OMG, I've got Dana's baby in my pocket":rotfl: He had to bring it back..the dog was nuts... The woman was so attached to that dog, more that her grown daughter it seemed. I always wondered what happened when Dana finally went to that great doggie heaven in the sky. They must have had to sedate the woman.

Actually, the whole family was looney, so it was quite understandable about Dana.

I got the same thing today. It's a follow up to the one apologizing and promising a gift on Nov. 9. I wonder if they are just stringing us along for some reason?

Haha I promise im not wacky-- but thats what we call his toys... "his baby"... we say "Go get your baby"... or "where's your baby" and he starts looking for it. We havent in a long time because he doesnt have any 'babies' right now. I feel terrible because they bring him so much happiness-- but its gotten out of hand. He doesnt get agressive with it. He will let you hold it, and even let you play with it. he loves the struggle-- so get one side and pull is is favorite. But if its gone too long he will hound you TO DEATH until he gets it back. And then he will pester you for hours to throw it and let him retrieve it. Guests think its the greatest thing-- throwing it and seeing him run after and bring it back (esp. since hes so little, such little feet-- but hes super fast). Its fun to them. To us its really sad. He wears himself out-- and then at night hes shaking so hard he literally tries to stand there and just falls over tired.

I know you're not wacky!! There were a LOT of other NON Dana things this family did that would assure you that they were "out there". Your poor little guy, he loves his babies buy can't have them..It is sad.

I forgot the funniest thing about Dana's baby was that it was beyond recognition as a slipper. She had loved that thing so much, it was just a tattered piece about 4" long.

was it a humping love or just cuddle it like it was her own

Just a quick little note, Maggimus I LOVE your new pics! I've been meaning to shake my stuff up a little, but haven't had the time. You look just like my best friend from college! She and her family are coming to stay with us this weekend....If I can snap a picture of her in the same pose as you, you'll see! Her hubby doesn't look like yours, but we have another friend who DOES! It's weird....they say everyone has a twin, but all I can think is (if I have one), "Oh that poor woman!" :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

YES! This is just like Fritzie. Whenever someone new comes along, she'll drop her toy at the guest's feet and look at the guest with such sad, sweet eyes--and maybe utter a bark or two. The guest will reach down, and in unison our family will yell, "Noooooo! Don't start! It'll never end!":scared1:

And, do your dachshunds take eyeballs out of stuffed animals? It's all Fritzie goes for. Sometimes I'll walk into my kid's room and see lots of eyeballs scattered around some very sad, eyeball-less animals. (It's been a good way to get rid of those stupid stuffed animals that seem to procreate when we're not looking, but it's still a disturbing sight.)

OH MY! I didn't think I was old enough to be your DH's AUNT!!!! I'm not that old, but then again....maybe I am! AHHHHHH I'm only in my 30's! That's not that old....RIGHT???? I SAID RIGHT!!!!! Oh my goodness....I think I'm gonna cry! I could tell you were younger, but not so much so that you'd think I was your aunt! Ok....I'm ok now, just had to breathe a little.....in....out.....in....out....OK! I'm definately OK now!

 I'm not really sure, whichever could wear down a scuffy bedroom slipper into a shred of a rag...:confused3 Like I said, she had issues with it! Poor Dana, bless her heart...:sad2:

You know how you have that reputation for being so nice?.....Well, thank you! I guess that's all I can say! At least I can breathe now! :rotfl: And I'm gonna try my hardest to get a similar pic this weekend so you can see her! They should be here soon! If not, I'll post a different one that I have of her that looks alot like you! But like you said....everything is so small, it's kind of hard to tell!

Fellow Freaps,
I am "in charge" (yuk) of dd's school's shirt sale (money goes toward buying presents for folks in a local long-care/nursing home). The order form is ready but I need to post a clip-art of a sweatshirt on the form. While I would prefer something cute and funny this school is made up of a bunch of fuddie-duddies (myself excluded :rotfl2: ) so I am looking for something simple and serious, although if you have funny shirt/sweatshirt clips, I would love to see them, might just use a funny one to shake up a few folks.

Anyone have a sweatshirt clip they can share?

These dont look too much like sweatshirts. Well... a few do.

Maybe one will work...:confused3
ETA: Nevermind that requires a subscription

Here's a hoodie I found-- might work for the letter
