FREAP CHAT ~ Everyone Welcome!

It is just hard when someone says, "Oh, where did you find X product?" and then trying to sift down to where they respond. Hope noone asks me anything because I probably won't see their question!

Dawn

When you open up the Freap Chat thread (or any other thread for that matter) you can click on the top of the thread - left side - where there is a little button that says "view 1st unread" - it will jump you to the last post you saw. I've been on the DIS for almost 3 years now and just found that out a couple months ago thanks to another Diser. :goodvibes Hope this helps.

Wow, It' A Happy Day, please tell your DD that I think that's the best costume I have seen in a long, long, time...I would definitely think of copying it if I EVER get invited to a party..yeah, like that's ever going to happen..:rolleyes1 Great imagination, she looks so cute..

We did a zoo trick or treating last night..our zoo is more of an outdoor habitat, with walking trails..all the animals are native to Georgia..didn't know we had mountain lions here...how about that? anyway, the DSs got some candy, had a hay ride, got to look for fossils-found some sharks teeth..lots of walking and lots of fun..I love Halloween.

We have a zoo?

This coughing stuff sounds awful....I can't wait for it to get here. I have asthma so that should be a fun time for all in my house. :guilty:

I have found that the liquid medicine things that look like syringes with no needles are extremely effective for bigger kids who are refusing meds. I squeeze my DS4 on his cheeks and shoot it in there. Of course, he looks at me like I killed him, but at least it gets the medicine in there!!!

It took a good 3-4 weeks for the kids to get over it. And just to add excitement, they wrapped it up with a stomach issue. Talk about the bug going out with a bang.

Ahhhh, children. I love them so.

Hope everyone, adults and kids included, are feeling better.

OMG! I have been here 2 years and never knew that!!!

This is GREAT!:cool1:

You can't get them anymore :guilty: I didn't get them either! The co. pulled them from the website but for those that got them they are working and are reportedly valid.

I just got this site to work if you want to try again.

And Madd, you can also just click the little blue check mark thingy on the thread you want on the the Budget board main page and that will take you to the last post read as well.

We have a zoo?

Yes, a very small zoo..very...It is part of the Education system, called Oatland Island Education Center. It is laid out by walking trails, all animals are indigenous to Georgia. They have bears, foxes, bobcats, cougars, bison..yes, bison used to live here...eagles, owls, hawks. They have a group of farm animals, too. The schools use it as a field trip, my kids go once a year with their class.

Once a year, around January, the city has Museum day on a Sunday. From 12-4 all the museums in/around Savannah are open for free, Oatland Island is included in that. We usually start at the Marine Science Center on Tybee Island, scoot thru Fort Sumter, rush through Oatland, dash to the Ship Museum, and end up at the Roundhouse museum. We are not lingerers, so we can get through each one pretty quickly...then move on...

I am not sure how much general admission is to Oatland Island.

OMG, I am laughing at the "trough" comment re: Golden Corral. We call it the "Hungry Heifer" or just "The Heifer" from back in the Cheers days. Even my dd5 calls it "The Heifer." We like to go there for breakfast. They have really good waffles.

Well, I got both kidlets off to school today, it was touch and go for awhile. After DS7 fell asleep last night, DS9 went into a coughing fit so bad that it made HIM puke...oyyyyyyyyyyyyy.. So now I am insisting that he take some cough medicine. If you guys want to try something that is really good, try Delsym. It is for 12 hours, and it calmed his cough immediately..I made him take some more this morning, just for good measure. And DS7 got up last night and puked again..thank you sweetie for making it to the bathroom and not waking mommy up...He woke up kinda hot with a slight temp. So I gave him some Motrin and by the time it came to go to school, his temp was normal and he was goofing around as usual. I haven't received a call today, fingers crossed. Our attendence policy is so strict, I freak out at the possibility of him missing another sick day..he has missed one so far. And I am taking them out UNEXCUSED-yes I am one of THOSE- for two days to go to the muthaland, so I was glad to get them both off to school.

For all the mommies out there wiping noses and forcing medicine down the kid's throat-I salute you!!

It ain't easy being a MEAN mommy!!

Two weeks ago we had the high temps and throw ups with cold. Then I thought we were all better and now DS has a terrible croup cough. The good side is that we are getting it over with early. Bad side, it is just a long running, hang in there and make the little ones miserable cough.

Wishing the best to all.

Well, I guess we officially have something. DS7 went to the nurse's office after feeling sick at recess..he threw up while there. The very weird thing is that I was coming in to the school to work in the library, like I do every Mon. and Tues, and they had a fire drill. I stood by the door and held it open while every one went back in, and DS7 walked by me but wouldn't even look at me..I thought he was being weird..I went into the library, worked for an hour and someone said DS7 was in the nurses office, had been there for an hour-including the fire drill. Why didn't he tell the nurse then that I was in the library? He must have felt really bad. We have a CubScout Halloween party tonight, looks like I will have to figure out how to get DS9 there for that, DS7 will miss it. He has a 101 fever now, gave him motrin. I hope he is better for Halloween, I hate to think about him missing it!!

Cross your fingers, y'all, toes, too!!

Thanks!

I think you need a big one of these

Gosh, some of the creepin' crud is unworldly! When my boys were little and in elementary school, I was sick more than they were! They brought everything in the county home, it seemed! I am watching to see where you guys are all from (that are dealing with this yukky stuff) to see how long it will be before it reaches us. :guilty:

Throwing up is the hardest thing on a kidling. I hope this stuff passes over all of you as quickly as possible! :grouphug:

Ain't that the truth..they bring it home, they feel bad, then you get it and it hits you EXPONENTIALLY!

He slept awhile, then got up and we went to take DS9 to the party. DS7 was feeling better so I let him go.Said NO APPLE BOBBING for either of them..(think about that 30 -40 kids with whatever diseases they have sharing the same tub of water submerging their mouths and noses into it...ugghh..).DS7did fine, ate 1/2 of a hotdog which is staying down so far..cross fingers...

psssstttt mtblujeans it's heading northwest....

He stayed home today..another belly ache. No fever, thank goodness. I will wait one more day before taking him to the dr. Thanks for the hugs..

The stupid thing about the apple bobbing is that it never occured to me until yesterday as I was trying to protect the other kids who were at the party..Never occurred to me to say "NO" before that..They were OK with it after I described the "soup" they would be putting their mouths into...yuck....

There's like 12 of these gift bags ! Lots of literature & a poster. Totally not what I was expecting. & also it included some extra Clairol haircolor boxes. I am floored. I can't wait to have my party. Give out the bags & party !!!
