FREAP CHAT ~ Everyone Welcome!

OK....call me _________(fill in the blank, like ad-libs) but I cannot figure out what a makita bean is....
If it's something like a tobagan (which I also needed some help with) please tell me before I explode!:rotfl2:

I think she means beanie. It is a hat...

All the stores in our area are short-handed with employees. Tonight was the second time I had gone to Walmart and there was no employee in the fabric/craft section of the store to help with cutting fabric.

The scanner gun was there and the label printer was there so I measured my own fabric, scanned the bolt end, put in the length of the fabric, and printed the price label out. I amazed myself!

After paging about 7 times, one of the customers tracked down an employee that was willing to come back and cut fabric. I helped her see how to print out the price label and then went on my merry way.

That was the thrill of my day...I lead such a boring life! :sad1:

There is a book giveaway by Jan Brett starting tomorrow, but you have to have found the hidden hedgehog in her new book The Three Snow Bears. The funny thing is you win a copy of the book itself so I don't want to go out and buy it! So if anyone can run to a bookstore and look for the hedgehog...Great! Then we can all win a copy to give out for Christmas!

There are alot of other cute freebies on her sight, like games and coloring pages, but I was going to post it once we had an answer for the contest. I did not get this off another sight, I got it out of a magazine, so I'm hoping we can kinda keep it to ourselves first, then let others know. ;)

I can check at Borders when I go pick up DS at school but that won't be until about 5:00 this evening. Or does the book come out tomorrow? If someone else finds it first, that's fine. :goodvibes

That would be awsome! I just don't live anywhere near a bookstore of any kind! Thanks! :goodvibes
I think it is out because her book tour started already, but it may have JUST come out? I just can't tell by the info on her websight.

Can you tell....you just find a picture of a hedgehog in the book that might not be easy to see? ;)

Wow! I would have been too scarred to do that! :rotfl:

Good Freebie day...tampons, ABC & Disaster Preparedness Kit, OceanSpray Cranberry recipe book, Whey Low sugar substitute, ??? I think that was everything. Oh ya, and the Vodka coupon.

Here's a good one about Walmart! We were there a couple of weeks ago and I was using the self checkout because that way no one can give me grief about all the computer printed coupons that I use, but the register I was using kept asking for the cashier to come over and punch in her number after every coupon! But she was really busy, so we were having to wait like 5 minutes for her to come back, well....the next time she came over I just watched her punch in her number and from then on I just punched it in myself! Otherwise we would have been there forever! Now when we go my hubby always asks "Do you remember that woman's number?" :cool1:

Too funny!

At the Walgreens by my house you have to have an employee punch in number to open the bathrooms and they really do try to hide it from you. Well I saw the number that she punched in once so now everytime I have to go use the bathroom in Walgreens I just let myself in! :rotfl:

OMG I hate that about Walgreens! I told DH it is the only place that I know of where the adult has to ask to use the bathrooms!! :headache:

Hey, Mtblujeans! Did you get a chance to see the book? Any idea where the hedgehog is?
Madd went ahead and posted the link to Jan Bretts websight, which has some cool stuff on it like I said earlier, but I'd love to have the free book, too!

hadleysun - I tried cheating to see if a hedgehog is mentioned anywhere in reviews on Amazon or Barnes & Noble. No luck. Maybe dd & I will head out to BN once she finishes her homework. I would love to get this free to put up for the holidays or her birthday!

I am looking fot the web address for the free things for the Marines. My nephew just was depolyed over and we want to get stuff. I know there was one for a jacket and a duffle bag. thanks everyone

No, I don't think you let any hogs out of the bag! :rotfl2: I was just trying to save the book thing from the other freebie sights until we all had ours! But all you mentioned was the fun activities....so I think we're alright! Am I being too selfish?
