Freaking out..

Do non-Disney Resort guests stand behind the rope until 8am while CM's let guests with Disney Resort room keys go through?

Sorry, I was in a hurry and did not express my thought very well. The conventional wisdom on touring strategy says that you should always avoid the EMH park (or go only for EMH) - because after the "extra" hour it will quickly become more crowded than any other park that day. Normally, the EMH park changes from day to day. But on a few special weeks (our experience was at Christmas) MK may be the EMH park every day for a full week.

What I was trying to say was that we went to the EMH park, but arrived at the regular opening time. There was no second rope drop, we just timed it as if there was going to be an 8:00am rope drop, arriving at about 7:45. In our experience there was no sudden increase in crowd size - partly because it was so early and partly because it was just one of serveral consecutive EMH days at the same park. In other words, it did not work like an ordinary EMH day even though it was an EMH day.

But how does it work for non-Disney guests? Do they let them in the park? Do they have a second rope? Do they have some turnstiles for non-Disney guests and some for Disney guests .. confused. I have never gone to a park that had EMH for guests when I was a non-Disney guest.

The guests that are there early will be able pass through the turn styles with their KTTW (room key). Without this key those who are not on property guests will not be able to pass through the turn styles and in return they will not be able to have early entry into the park until regular admission time.

Thanks that's what I thought - we will just hang out at the gate until they let us in. Which makes me feel that we really only need to get there probably 10-15 minutes ahead of time for the regular rope drop, which is 8 am - so I am thinking get there around 7:45 / 7:50 am. (everyday our week is 7 am emh / 8 am regular). Anyone see anything wrong with that strategy if you are off-site?
