Now I'm really upset. I read last night that after a needle biopsy you shouldn't swim in a pool for a week. I'm going to the Caribbean with my family. I'm NOT giving up swimming for about half of my vacation. NO WAY. So, if that's true then I have to choice but to reschedule it for when I get back. Or I have to beg them to TRY to squeeze me in somewhere this week. I'm sure that'll be a big NO.

hmmm....I don't remember that after my needle biopsy. Best thing to do is call today, ask them if that's the case and explain your vacation situation. I know it's hard, but try not to stress

Speaking from experience here, just don't spend large amounts of time submerged, it's ok to splash around-you have steri strips on the spots where the needle went in and those suckers are stuck on pretty good.

Also, the paperwork from my needle biopsy says "80% of all needle biopsies come back negative". That made me feel a lot calmer, and sure enough, mine came back negative. 80% is a comforting number .

I did call them and they told me that they just ask you not to do anything for 24 hours. They said they will put a waterproof bandage on it that I'll need to wear for a few days but after that I can take it off. Phew! What a relief.
